Definitely one of the more affordable buildings in Logan Circle. Building amenities aren’t all shiny and new, but the affordability makes it worth it. Management is very friendly and extremely responsive. Nice rooftop, great service when it comes to package receipt/​delivery, washer/​dryers on every other floor. I’m going on my 4^th year living here and have been very pleased!

Been living here for 6 months. Positive experience so far. The management is very friendly and responsive — in the rare instances I’ve had issues, the problem is addressed quickly. They’ve even gone out of their way to implement some suggestions I’ve had for common areas. The building isn’t the fanciest place, but the location is great and the facilities are good for what you’re paying.

I’ve lived here since 2007, and can recall the times of the previous reviewers. It was that bad for many here (but luckily I was saved from that mess). Those events occurred when the building was owned by another management company that was in the real-​estate market to make a quick buck. They thankfully left (or were bought out). The building is now managed by Bernstein, which has been in property management for over 30 years in the area.
I’ve come to find the new management to be very trustworthy, respectful, and loyal to its tenants. Whenever I have a maintenance issue… it’s fixed the same day. They follow up with questions to see if the service met our needs. If not, they are right back at it. For me, this included ordering special materials to seal drafts in my windows. It also meant bringing over another maintenance person to work on a heater issue. All issues were nicely and quickly resolved. They are all very friendly too and smile with genuine care.
Bernstein conducted a major cleaned up of the place and modernized the foyer, elevator (which used to be a dark coffin like box with dark green carpet on the walls — you had to see it to believe it), a new roof top deck with bar-​b-​que, etc.
No pests to speak of (knock on wood), and the tenants are friendlier these days than before. I think the general cleaned up environment makes people happier and friendlier.
In any living space there is always room for improvement. What is great about the Palisades is the courteousness and attention from management, especially Kendra Peterson and Ryan Badua. Both are real gems, and I hope we can keep them here. As most apartment-​dwellers know… it’s management that can make or break your living experience. They make it wonderful.
Needless to say… the location is great too. Around the corner from Whole Foods, a ²⁴⁄₇ CVS, 7-​Eleven, and located near major bus routes and within walking distance to the subway.
Though this is an all efficiency-​building, one can find their inner decorator to make it work. It’s worth a look for those in the market.

Rats, mold, knats, and virtually no aid or sympathy. I moved to D.C. after college, and this was the first complex I lived in. Ironically I never slept in conditions remotely close to this during all of my years of college…(I even fell asleep on a bench once in the middle of the quad, but that’s another story). The only positive thing I can say about this experience is I’m quite savy with D.C. housing laws and regulation.
Please pardon me for quoting confucias, «By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. » Yet bitter hardly begins to characterize my feelings while packing my bags to move out I find close to 200 rat droppings in the under the boxes in this cramped lethargic apartment. This is the worst apartment building to live in. I would give it no stars if I could.
I moved in January 2007 with the reassurance I would be happy with my decision to live there. Upon entering my apartment I realize that there were dead cockroaches on the floor and a broken refrigerator. The following few weeks the elevator gets testy and is broken nearly every other day and my hot water did not work for a month and a half. I am moving out January 2008 because now it is infested with mice, and I just found out it’s BEEN infested for the past 3 months and management never told the tenants.
Also, because the leasing office only opens for a few hours every day in the afternoon, it is impossible to pick up any packages you may receive unless you leave work early or go in late.
DO NOT LIVE HERE, PLEASE!
