Wonderful Thai food at a great location! For an appetizer definitely try the stuffed chicken wings. It’s not really chicken wings. It’s a large stuffed drumstick, but it is sensational. My wife had Pad Broccoli with Chicken and I had the Pad Thai. Both very flavorful and enough of a portion that we ended up taking a good part of it home. Tucked along Connecticut Avenue just below Dupont Circle, this is a restaurant that has great food, great atmosphere and a great place for people watching.

Based on first impression, this restaurant is very nice and modern. The music and noise level is really quiet and nice. The workers here aren’t as nice. We asked for recommendations and they were very rude and kept trying to rush our order. However, we were the only people in the restaurant since it was only around 5 pm. They didn’t really pay much attention to us but were more interested in the conversation between the other customers, The food took about 15 minutes to come out. I got an order of the drunken noodles and despite what people say, it isn’t too spicy and really good. I also got the chicken green curry but it was okay. If you don’t like the taste of Indian spices and bamboo, don’t try this curry. There’s too much curry compared to rice though.

I absolutely fell in love with this place. Today was my first visit and it was AWESOME. I got the Shrimp Bikini and the Shrimp Pasara Fried Rice(melts in your mouth good). The prices are reasonable. The lady at the bar was really nice and the atmosphere is just lovely(didn’t think it would be that nice inside but its beautiful). I will definitely be returning to this spot. OH and they have a big bar, nice for after work date spot hahaha

With my date we needed a quick place to eat that was nearby the DCIMPROV. We just chose it because it looked nice and we like Thai. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. I got Lad Na with Chicken and it was very good. It’s my fav Thai food. Our server looked like a Thai Model and she was very nice. It was a good stop!

Great location and easy take out. You can order online through seamless for delivery or pick up. I really like their authentic pad thai and any of their curries. Also, when dining in, I enjoyed the shrimp bikinis — which are fun appetizers of shrimp wrapped in a deep fried spring roll wrapper. The portions are good sized and everything is nice and fresh.

There are so many things to like about this place. The location is superb, the staff is very nice(I went for Saturday lunch and there were not a lot of people). What i like best is value for money. I went and ordered one of their chef specials plus dessert and paid around $ 20. I am from Southeast Asia and I would consider myself to be very familiar with Thai flavors/cooking, and I think this place will satisfy that Thai craving. It’s not the best, but I would consider it to be quite good. Where else could you get a proper sit-down thai value meal in the city?

Atmosphere was good but food was pretty mediocre. Got the spring rolls, crispy fish special, yellow curry and the bualoy desert. First of all, the crispy fish was covered in Thai sweet and spicy sauce you couldn’t even taste that it was fish, the flavor was way to overwhelming, which killed the whole dish. The yellow curry was nothing special either, it was basically soup like consistency and no texture to it. We were looking forward to the desert which ended up being a disaster. The spring rolls were terrible as well and their sauce was a sweet and sour sauce instead of the typical peanut sauce. Good was overpriced too!

I’ve been here a few times and while I haven’t had much Thai food in DC I have to say it’s a pretty good spot overall. Their lunch specials are pretty affordable and you get a lot of food with it. My school occasionally has an event here so I’ve had plenty of free finger foods and light bites here which were good. I would say that they’re a three star kind of place but we had a large group event on a Saturday night here they didn’t demand a deposit, gave us the entire second floor and a dedicated bartender and even though they recommended a limited menu but we didn’t and they accommodated us.

Pasara is right near the top of my favorite Thai places in all of DC. Located on Connecticut Avenue in downtown DC, you know obviously need a reason to be downtown to enjoy this cool place. I love the atmosphere– cool and chic, not too large, but room enough for your party. TIP– ask to be seated upstairs if you have a few friends with you. They’re very accommodating, unlike a lot DC establishments that stick their nose in the air if you ask for any kind of favor or preferred treatment. The second level has its own restroom and speakers that can be turned off upon request. Great for a lunch or dinner for your organization or friends. Menu– The fare is authentic and tasty. I’ve never had a bad dish here, whether it be the orange chicken, Tom Yum soup, Thai iced tea, or any of the delightful appetizers. You can expect what you would look at any good Thai restaurant. I’m sorry if this sounds too generic or nebulous; I just really like everything I’ve had here. The staff is courteous, although their English can be lacking sometimes. They do offer a full bar, and have a full bar upstairs as well to serve your party. If you’re in the burbs of NOVA like me, check out their Ashburn location.

Excellent thai food. I ordered the crispy salmon special and loved every bit of it. I ordered delivery, too, and it arrived on time, fresh and hot! Loved it and absolutely recommend. Looking forward to eating there in person.

Pasara Thai has slowly been eating all of my money! WIth an easy accessible location in Dupont Circle, this place serves true authentic Thai food. Although the prices are on the steeper side, as such as I’ve found in DC, the quality of the food is great. I really enjoy their Pad See Ew with chicken or beef, a huge portion as compared to other Thai restaurants in the area(Bua gives you so little for the price) and a great taste too. I would just be cautious when ordering spice levels, they’re talking Thai spice levels, none of that overly sweet American stuff. The ambiance of the restaurant inside is quite nice as well, a nice place for lunch or dinner.

The place that fulfills your Thai food craving in the middle of a lunch rush! Please remember, Unilocal readers, three stars means the place is quite alright. Not bad! So that’s exactly what Pasara Thai is for me. Not bad at all. Kra POW! With beef. The beef is cut thinly, so it absorbs the flavors from the spicy garlic sauce. However, this plate is quite red & green. Red and green from bell peppers. That’s right, let’s marvel over a dish that’s about 60% bell peppers. Thankfully the beef and sauce did not disappoint. So Drunken Noodles… Based on a similar sauce from the beef kra pow, the drunken noodles is quite spicy and the noodles are perfectly cooked. No complaints with the drunken noodles. I’m happy to know that they make it right. It’s not ‘wet,’ like the way some Thai restaurants make it. The décor is nice. You can tell that this place switches to a lounge at night(so does the entire block). Plenty of tables available between downstairs and upstairs, so if you come right around noon, there is no wait time! Be aware that once 12:30pm hits, you’re in for the long haul. Get comfortable in your seats. Bring pillows if you have to. Cover up in your comfy office PJs(can that be a thing?) Our lunch service lasted for about an hour. Talk about a long lunch meeting! The kitchen gets quite overwhelmed during lunch service, and we can tell that our neighboring table is feeling the stress of time not being on their side. Would I come back again? Sure — it’s convenient, good Thai food. Would I drive out of my way to come here? Most likely not.

I came here for a work lunch with a party of ten. We were immediately seated and taken care of. The restaurant itself is nice and there are a lot of menu options but the food is average. It’s typical Americanized Thai food. I ordered the drunken noodles with pork and my noodles were so spicy that I could not even get halfway through. My coworkers all ordered a variation of the noodles as well and we can to a conclusion that the color of my noodles were much more red than everyone else’s at the table(and for about nine other variations, that’s saying something). The service was all right. I feel like we got a little more attention because we were a bigger party but my water glass was empty for a good amount of time(and trust me, I needed it). For work purposes, I would come back but if I’m on my own, I’m definitely branching out to what other places DC has to offer.

I visited Pasara Thai for the first time this past weekend. We had a reservation for a large party so they sat us at our own table on the upper level. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and the hostesses and waitresses we interacted with were very friendly people. I will say for service though… it could have been better. First off, there was a long list of available cocktails and when I ordered my drink(the Gin Sling) the waitress had no idea what I was talking about. I ended up reading the drink description from the menu to her so she could write it down. When ordering food, two of my friends ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer and they requested vegetarian spring rolls, but they were brought the«crispy spring rolls» which were made with chicken. When they bit into it and discovered that their food did, in fact have meat in it they informed the waitress. She was nice enough to apologize and bring out another order out to them. For my main entrée, I ordered the Pad See Ew but instead, I was brought the Pad Thai. I didn’t really care too much I also didn’t want to wait any longer so I ended up eating that entrée instead of switching it. The Pad Thai tasted good, but definitely lacking on the veggies and tofu. Even though we were a big group, the waitress gave us no problems when we requested to split the bill and she rang us up quite quickly. It could have been because there weren’t many people in the restaurant at all, but still I appreciated not having to wait too long.

Had the Pasara fried rice with chicken and it was pretty standard. Nothing too amazing but a solid, filling meal and reasonably priced. The vegetable spring rolls were okay. I enjoyed the sauce but the rolls themselves were too oily for me. It’s a convenient location though and has really fast service.

It was a storm out and I wanted food to take home for dinner, so I ended up at Pasara Thai. I was thinking maybe it wasn’t very busy because of the storm, but I wonder if more likely it was because of the so-so food. I got the standard chicken Pad Thai and it was meh. I wouldn’t say it was the worst, but pretty far from the best.

Amazing restaurant!!! Good service, delicious and fresh food! Couldn’t get enough. I tried iced Thai coffee, sweet and delicious. The spring roll really fresh, you must order the pineapple rice if you wanna impress your date or just have and awesome experience yourself.

This review is for its delivery. New to Pasara, I ordered fried rice with chicken and crabmeat, duck salad, and mango sticky rice for one. Not a single bad choice here so far. I was craving fried rice and this did not disappoint. Added crabmeat for an extra $ 2 and was unexpectedly pleased to find chunky huge pieces. I highly recommend the add-on if you like imitation crab. The duck salad was roasted in a slight sweet/spicy sauce. It was actually ROASTED not FRIED — another pleasant surprise. I prefer leaner pieces of duck and mine was quite fatty but I have lots of friends who would have enjoyed chewy juicy fatty duck. Ordered mango sticky rice like I do at every Thai place. Just your usual here. Speedy delivery — got my food in 40 mins and it was still warm. Seamless had an estimate of 45 – 60 mins.

Great Happy Hour! Come in during happy hour and sit at the bar and you’ll have a wide variety of food options and definitely specialty drink cocktails to try for. Bartender was friendly and made a pretty good drink, they have a wide range of cocktails and most include premium brands of alcohol. I tried a couple of different ones, all were made well, great hint of alcohol without being overly boozy. The price point for happy hour almost makes it a sin for you not to try multiple drinks. For food options I tried a couple of different things, the shrimp bikini picked my interest by name alone, they are shrimp fried in roll fashion, served with a tasty peanut butter based sauce. Also had the spring rolls, fried nicely and excellent in size. Chicken satay was just okay but at the price I couldn’t complaint too much. All in all, definitely worth a visit during happy hour if you’re in the area and looking for some nice cocktails and bar bites at a affordable price.
