Average but not great pizza. By the slice can be sitting there for some time. Well managed.

Petes is very good. In fact it is the best pizza in DC. The food never disappoints and I always enjoy getting food here. The restaruant is very loud due to how family friendly it is. If you aren’t a fan of loud kids I suggest carry out for just as good of a time.

I like their pizza for carry out. However the dine in experience is extremely loud, chaotic, full of toddlers running around, and very difficult to get a table. Not to mention that it doesn’t seem very clean.

Best pizza I have found in the Maryland area since moving here from CT. They understand how a pizza should be made. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Last Sunday Jan 3rd2016 around 7.00 pm I took my family to Pete’s Wisconsin Ave location. As usual I placed my order large Pizza couple of soups and a salad. When we got the food my wife took the first slice in here second bite there was a big white stone which broke her tooth’s crown. Since I have been working in a food establishment I knew this is a possibility. I walked to the counter and gave that to the manger on duty in my plate he took it and walked to the back. I waited on my table for a good 30 minutes to see if he is coming to us at less for an apology but nothing happened. Finally we walked out and still dealing with the dentist a simple Caring or reaction from the staff could have saved me in front of my kids and family and could have saved you a customer. I leave the ratting to you.

We love this place. Everything is good. Gelato is very very close to as good as Italy. The gluten free pizza is the best of all I’ve had. Daughter had gf pasta and it was really good.

We visited this spot today while visiting a friend. The location was pretty run down and the pizza wasn’t as good as I remembered. The pizza was burned and fairly bland. We ordered a veggie pizza with a regular cheese and two salads. The dressing was good and the salad was fresh

I’ve been to the Clarendon branch and I loved their food. Tried this place because of a Groupon. Time of the day: Evening. Around 6PM Service: Carry out Ordering: Easy phone order. Fast and simple. Pick-up process: Had to wait around 5 minutes because there was a line. Interior/exterior: Clean and decent. Lots of space. You can eat inside or outside. Parking: None available. Accessible to metro: Yes, but you will have to walk. Customer Service: Nice and prompt. Food: I ordered the Cutler’s pizza and Rags of Pasta. I liked(not loved) the pizza because it was fresh and the cuts of meet used were great quality but the pasta was awful. I paid $ 14 for a pasta that mostly was just pasta, some mushrooms and onions, little beef stock to taste, pinch of braised beef. You read it right just pinch of meat. I was even having hard time looking for the meat. I kept on finding the mushrooms. Pros: A different kind of pizza place. Fresh food and ingredients. Pizza meat toppings are great. Nice staff. Cons: No parking. Food is overpriced for quality. Pizza is good but not the real haven style. Pasta is meh. Food quality is not consistent with other branches. Summary: This place offers new variations to specialty pizzas. It is decent but not a place I would come back to unless I have a Groupon or something. This place is overpriced for the quality of the food especially for the pasta. Find a better place that is worth your money.

We are getting ready to move from DC so I had to order Pete’s pizza one last time before we go. I ordered the Edge of the Woods pizza which has thinly sliced eggplant(which I normally hate eggplant) sautéed spinach and caramelized onions on it. Its amazing. My grandmother(who is 83) was over and she started raving about the pizza after the first bite. After she was all done she said its the best pizza she’s ever had. Now if thats not a glowing review I dont know what is! I knew I liked their pizza and was so happy that she got to try some! Im sad they dont have a Pete’s where we are moving to but I will definitely stop and get it when I’m back in town. Oh and the Truffle desserts are amazing. I dont even know what this flavor was(pumpkin) but it was delicious as well!

Best pizza in DC, hands down. I love this place. I was overjoyed when I bought a house three blocks away.

I remember how excited we all were when Pete’s first opened up, seeing how hard it was to find decent pizza in DC. I haven’t been here in a while, and my memory of Pete’s serving up some pretty decent pizza remains just that, based on the slices that are in front of me right now. The cheese pizza is totally forgettable, with no real flavor. Skip it. The New Haven clam pizza still has that wonderful buttery rich taste to it… until you get to the garlic, which happened to be burned on my slice. I love love love garlic, but every garlic lover knows that ‘the stinky rose’ is bitter when burned, totally negating the other flavors. Maybe the crust is supposed to be a bit charred, but the toppings shouldn’t be. The cold, frosty Peroni was the highlight of this particular visit, washing away the aforementioned burned garlic flavor with its crisp, light flavor. So, when it comes to Pete’s: I don’t love it, I don’t hate it, I’m just kinda meh about it… except, of course, for the Peroni.

It saddens me to see that good places go bad when they get bigger. Over heated pizza with crusty cheese,(yes I like reheated pizza myself but not this bad). Wanted to get a dessert after I ate. Total of 5 people behind the counter and 2 managers behind me discussing something. 1 on the phone the others are afraid to come to eye to eye with me and ask ’ would you like something ?’. Walked out after losing my interest in their sweets! Store, district, general, assistant managers read this please and show it to your employees. This is what not to do if you don’t want to loose repeat customers !!!

The staff right off the top are extremely friendly and the fact the use a craft soda supplier were good signs to me. Pucks make great flavor sodas that Pepsi and Coke cannot match. The pizza was actually hot rather than lukewarm like everywhere else I have gone. The abundance of garlic tickled my nose and made my tasebuds thrilled with pleasure. I am NOT one usually for white pizza but I decided to be brave and go against my usual choices, I am certainly glad I did. To say the pizza was great would be an understatement. I would and will definitely come back to Pete’s New Haven Pizza.

Lovely pizza location in NWDC. Spouse and I shared a medium«Elm City» pie. The size was perfect for two people. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to eat outdoors. Since the restaurant was busy, the seating felt a bit cramped. There were not many discernible lanes for walking. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience, and will most likely go again.

Four stars for fond memories of great pizza. DC doesn’t have many great pizza options(and, no, 2 Amys isn’t great) but this shop offers great pizza. A bit pricey but well worth the treat whenever the occasion calls for it. We loved their spicey pizzas; I forget their names but they have spicey meats and peppers. All their pizzas are good though. Their club soda machine is a fun treat, too. I didn’t care but for the clientele; lots of well-to-do, odd parents with their weird kids but that’s a result of their being a great restaurant. It can get busy at dinner or lunch but you’ll find a seat on an off time. I’d stop by if/when I’m in the neighborhood again. Thanks!

I’ve only had Frank Pepe’s a handful of times, so I don’t consider myself a New Haven style pizza enthusiast. However, I do consider myself a delicious food enthusiast, and that’s why I loved Pete’s. I had the Elm City(white pizza with caramelized onions, wild mushrooms, and chicken). Although I’m sad I didn’t get to taste their sauce, the white pizza was speckled with lots of spots of crispy, golden brown cheese – so good! The toppings were generous and high quality. And the crust was absolutely perfect: it had a nice yeasty flavor and was just crispy enough to still be puffy around the edges. At $ 26 for an 18″ specialty pizza(which I’d say squarely feeds 4), Pete’s is a bit pricey. Still, the budget-conscious side of me appreciates that they cut the pizza into more than 8 slices – I’d rather have 3 small slices than 2 big ones. Pete’s also sells gelato and a variety of desserts(cupcakes, shooter-style desserts, cookies, cannoli, etc.) for around $ 3 each. I only got to stare at these as I waited for take out… maybe next time!

I lost my mind here the other night. The pizza was amazing — one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Good enough that it inspired me to give this place 5 stars, despite mostly having 4 star experiences here. Not sure if there have been any changes in ingredients or preparation, but the pizza was significantly better than I’ve had there before. We ordered a medium pizza, half Edge of the Woods(with mushrooms and olives instead of the eggplant) and half Nighthawk. Both were wonderful. I’m not a fan of the fried eggplant so I always ask for the pizza without it. Also they have a pretty good groupon deal right now. Get it and check this place out!

I’d give Pete’s 3.5 stars. I’m from Jersey so pizza around here just doesn’t meet the same standard, but pete’s isn’t bad. They have a bunch of unique options and their portion sizes are spot on. I’ve tried the down the hill and the meritt parkway. My only complaint about toppings is their mushrooms are just straight terrible, they taste dirty to me. $ 9 for a specialty individual pizza is a bit much but it’s good and it tastes better than any other pizza around Friendship Heights. A decent lunch option for sure.

Petes is the only place I’m aware of in this area who serves gluten and dairy free pizza. I have eaten there several times and also have had it delivered to my home. I’ve always been happy with the service and product. Their pizza is amazing! The dining experience is great for families. You pay when you order, so when you are done eating you can go. No waiting around for the check while your children are having a melt down ;) They also have a great area to eat outside. One time when I was eating there Joe Biden came in to eat w/his family! It was pretty cool. I have a great video of my daughter meeting him

After 3.5 years since my first and only visit, I decided to give them another try tonight. My daughter ate less than half a slice of her 9 inch pizza. I tasted it and immediately understood why. **Time out** The original ruling on the field was«burnt, cheese-less, overcooked dough.» I’m so far in the minority here that I had to google«New Haven Style Pizza» before boldly jumping out here with a one star rating. After reviewing the play, the ruling on the field is reversed: New Haven Style Pizza is supposed to be «charred,» it has scant traces of cheese as an actual preference, and the dough is fermented longer for a chewier crust. Pete’s will not be charged a time-out. I will leave two stars since I truly feel like, «Meh, I’ve experienced better.» But, in all fairness to them, I had no idea that New Haven Style was a real thing. Had I known that, I would’ve just opted for the toast and ketchup at [pizza place up the street from Pete’s].
