After a show at Black Cat, we were looking for late night snack. I used Unilocal to locate this great spot close by. Not only did Unilocal suggest a delicious Italian joint, they provided a free Margarita pizza coupon upon check in. We sat at the bar and our bartender/server Jess was extremely nice and attentive. The pizza, Caesar salad with chicken, & wine was all super delicious. Cute interior and overall completely satisfied. I definitely recommend and will return.

Love this place so much! Perfect brunch spot, delicious, fresh food and excellent customer service, what more could you ask for?! The mimosa/bottomless brunch drink station has fresh fruit, red and white sangria, and tons of sparkling wine. The staff and GM are super helpful and personable, which makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend for a nice weekend boozy brunch!

So, I heard from the management after my last post and decided, albeit reluctantly, to give Piola another shot, which I’m glad I did. A friend and I went in on the earlier side of dinner time on a recent Friday night and ordered two different pizzas to share, along with a caipirinha and a glass of red wine. I’m happy to report that the food was quite good, and the staff was friendly and very attentive as well. Keep up the good work, Piola! I look forward to going again soon.

So good! I went here with coworkers and went back the next day! Service is slow, but the food is delicious and the unlimited drinks are a great deal! I am a vegetarian and found plenty of options. If you eat meat, you will find a great charcuterie board and delicious personal pizzas. Would definitely recommend.

Great service for brunch, and not too busy. Head chef checked in with our party and every other in the restaurant to make sure everything was good. Good was tasty and they were good with adapting the plates for allergies in our party. The make your own drink feature is awesome with great fresh fruit. Good music that’s not too loud, and reasonably priced.

This is my husband and I’s go-to dinner spot with friends. The food is delicious — authentic Italian style pizza(not NY or Chicago pizza) with fresh ingredients, salads, and(I believe) house made pastas. The atmosphere is also nice. It’s cozy but very clean and fresh feeling on the inside — and we never have trouble getting a table. The staff is also wonderful. They are warm and attentive and easily accommodate special requests. For example, I really had a taste for Carbonara one night. I had seen the dish on their lunch menu but not the dinner menu. I asked if they could make it and it was zero problem(and insanely delicious). I’ve also made many special orders for the pizzas — it’s never a problem and they always get it right. I like the Greco pizza(I add tomato sauce) and the San Daniele pizza. My husbands go-to is the pappardelle bolognese. Vancho is our favorite server and always remembers us and makes us feel welcomed. They also have crazy specials. Our favorite is half priced bottles of wine on Wednesday nights, «wine for a dime» ladies night on Thursdays, and all-you-can-eat Gnocchi night on the 29th of each month. All in all, it’s a great place to eat.

Love this place! Highly recommend it. From the outside it looks like just pizza(and the pizza is delicious), but it’s all around great Italian food(pasta bolognese is my favorite) at very reasonable prices. They also easily accommodate special requests. It’s never too crowded or too loud, and I’ve never ordered a thing there I didn’t like. They have great specials — half priced bottles of wine on Wednesday is the best! Also the staff is awesome — the managers always remember my wife and me.

Stumbled in here unexpectedly(other plans were a bust and I just saw it from the street). Just went in for drinks and to watch a football game. Nice space with a couple of big TVs and the sound on(at a moderate level). Cocktails are decently priced(by DC standards). Nice space, good vibe. Our bartender, Jenny, was super cool — we were sitting at the bar and chatted with her for awhile. Definitely made this place. I’d come back, especially to watch a game in a non-bro-y atmosphere/while getting something better than bar food. I didn’t eat, but the menu looks like it could be dialed back a little(cut some options).

Couldn’t be happier with their bottomless brunch! Delicious options for food and a very good selection of mimosas and sangrias, unlike the cheap champagne mimosas you will find at most bottomless brunch places.

Always love this spot! They have the freshest foods and awesome drink specials. Definitely the best Italian neighborhood spot! Pastas are great, salads are amazing, and pizzas are even better!

I had brunch with a group of 4 at Piola’s 14th Street location on November 1, 2015. For unlimited food & mimosas, we each paid over $ 50(including tax). This was incredibly overpriced — we paid for flavorless food made with poor quality ingredients. We ordered– Small brunch plates: Avocado Dip Caprese Italia Unita(2 slices of brie, 2 slices of lunch meat style ham, 2 slices of poor quality prosciutto) Mac & Cheese Poached egg on a prosciutto & brie toasted sandwich Egg in toast with garlic and tomato sauce Pizzas: Potato White Pizza Sausage Pizza Smoked Salmon/Capers/Red Onion Pizza While the restaurant was clean and the service was fine, the food was just plain bad. FYI: Piola also offers a DIY mimosa & sangria station in the front rather than table service.

So I have always really wanted to like this place. I live less than a block away, and am always looking for new places to grab a bite on the way home. However, every time I have come here the service has been spectacularly awful… until now. I assume that they owners have figured it out and brought in a new manager. During brunch today, the manager was actively engaged in the operations and prodded the wait staff to go above-and-beyond. This has made all the difference; the experience today is what I have always hoped for in my neighborhood haunt.

Another amazing experience from this international pizzeria. Food, service and atmosphere is just on point. Had the margarita pizza and it was exactly like the ones I have had in Miami, Toronto, Colombia, Buenos Aired, or Italy. They have ladies night on Thursdays when you can drink wine for literally a dime! Definitely still my favorite pizza place ever!!!

Hands down, best brunch I’ve been to in a long time, possibly the best in DC. Food was delicious, drinks were amazing and the service was 100% the best I’ve had in DC ever. They have a mimosa Bellini sangria bar so you can serve yourself which is amazing for all of us that are sick of having orange juice with a side of champagne at typical bottomless brunches. I can’t say enough good things. We had a group of 8 thirsty girls and we all had a fabulous time! Go here!

Happiness is: 1. order a pizza 2. consume 3. repeat If you are a pizza lover, and love a good bottomless brunch then Piola is the place for you! *Let me just start off by saying this, my boyfriend has been dying to take me here ever since his first visit. Now, I’m not the biggest pizza lover *GASP*, but if it’s done right, I enjoy it in small doses. So, FINALLY after two months of arm twisting we made a stop at Piola* Bottomless brunch can go two ways: 1. bottomless food for $ 20; 2. add in bottomless beverages for an additional $ 20, where they have make your own mimosa and sangria bar, how awesome is that? With my first time going to Piola yesterday, I opted for the easier option(shockingly enough not the drinking option)! I went with two fantastic foodies and we split everything that came our way! Personally, I think you need to go to Piola to share food, you can’t hit this restaurant without sharing things. If you don’t share you won’t get the same experience and won’t enjoy yourself nearly as much as you should. Suggestions +Sit upstairs. The exposed brick alone will have you craving for another visit to Piola. +Order the broccoli chicken pizza, something about Gorgonzola cheese with the broccoli really makes this pop. +Mac n Cheese is a must – just do it. Apparently, this place has half priced bottles of wine on Mondays; so I will be back for that. Over all, this is an awesome place for groups. If you are looking for casual, low key and something delicious check out Piola! If you are a big iced tea drinker, I will be the bearer of bad news: though it is listed on the menu, they no longer offer iced tea.

Everything was so ehhhh and bland. Rooftop seating was cool — but they seat you so close to other people, which totally kills it. To drink, we got the red sangria — it was bitter and not good at all. For an appetizer we tried the bruschetta, which was also less than mediocre. Soggy bread with mushy potential even canned tomatoes on top. Finally we shared the four cheese gnocchi, which was also not great. I would not recommend any of the things we got. If I was rating this place solely on this experience it would be 2 stars. However, I have come here for brunch before and it was much better. If you come here — stick to the pizzas and brunch.

Fun brunch for all you can eat and drink at the $ 40 mark.(I compare most all you can eat and drink brunches with Masa 14’s $ 38 that includes Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, and beer cocktails… Which is a welcome variety) This place holds up to Masa. Great service and a nice mimosa and sangria bar. The pizzas were all very nice thin crust style and the jamon cheese board and meatballs were a great addition.

This Italian chain(with branches throughout Latin America???) brings a little style to the area of 14th Street above U. The décor is Industrial with exposed brick, polished concrete floors, and Chihuly-inspired glass lamps. There an 11-seat bar downstairs with three drafts including Brooklyn’s Sorachi Ace and Sly Fox Octoberfest. Their Lunch deal of half a salad and half a(small) pizza for $ 12.95 is solid, although the pizzas and salad you can choose from are limited. I had half a Capricciosa pizza(ham, sauteed mushrooms and artichokes with tomato sauce and mozzarella). The pizzas themselves are the thin crust Italian style pies found in Naples, although their version is not nearly as good as those at Pizzeria Paradiso/Two Amy’s. I guess most of their lunch business is delivery because the Wednesday I stopped in for there were only two other customers. With the demise of Coppi’s Organic, not a bad option if you don’t want to fight the crowds at Matchbox or schlepp down to Ghibellina or Etto.

I wanted to dine in Piola for their ayce gnocchi night for some time when there used to be one in NYC. Timing was just never right(only 29th day of the month) and the pending reopening went on without any progresses or updates. When I moved to DC, I finally jumped onto the opportunity. My husband and I came this past 29th and sat on the roof top for a gluttonous, romantic, welcoming dinner to a long weekend. Perhaps since we were one of the firsts to arrive, the service was awesome at the first half of our meal. We were served and checked on with new flavor of gnocchi every 5 – 7 mins. Being an ayce — I was impressed by the quality of their gnocchi — they were fresh, piping hot, soft, pillowy, melt in my mouth yum! They offered such great varieties — we must had sampled at least 10 different flavors — my personal fav were the tomato with basil and vodka with salmon. However half way through our dinner, the service really went downhill. Perhaps they were overwhelmed? Or understaffed? We were served maybe every 20 – 25 mins. Ultimately, we had to personally get up and request more food to be brought to us. Although our dinner lasted much longer than we intended, it was an experience my husband and I both enjoyed. For $ 16 per person, we definitely ate our gnocchi worth. Probably won’t be return any time soon since we are pretty much gnocchi-ed out, but heard amazing things about their ayce pizza brunch — will def check it out!
