An interesting alternative to the collection of Prets, Starbucks, Cosis and other chain coffee shops that dominate downtown DC. They serve Illy coffee and enough varieties of sweet savory crepes that there is always a new one to try. Some crepes are better than others but I have not had a bad one. Not quite five star material due to somewhat less than optimal cleanliness(as another reviewer has noted) and lack of wireless internet.

Went here for breakfast this morning. I got a cappuccino with a ricotta and strawberry jam crêpe. Both were delicious, would definitely recommend for a quick and cheap breakfast.

So many options to choose from and great illy coffee! Love coming here for an afternoon pick me up. Service is fast and friendly, plus has outdoor seating. My favorite crêpe so far is the ricotta and applesauce and I plan to eat my way through the menu.

WOW!!! Best crêpe place I’ve ever been! Fresh, creative breakfasts’ are made right in front of customers. Customers have the option to sit inside or outside. Crepes come in savory or sweet selections and the staff is charming and helpful. The cherry blossom gelato is a taste of heaven. A must eat if you are in the area!!!

Went in kinda late and found the crepes were not freshly made. Asked for dark chocolate, but the girl behind the counter said it was all the same. I believe her — it tasted like cheap milk chocolate. Crêpe was tough and chewy. Probably won’t be going back.

Crepes. I’ve got to learn to make them. Because while they seem fairly fancy, they are a really thin pancake wrapped around sandwich filling. Once I master making the crêpe I will make these at home rather than buying then out. I had a very cheddar cheesy turkey, cheese and pineapple crêpe. It was $ 6.45 and was good. Very good even, but I had to get the pineapple one to feel more«fancy». I like to feel fancy when I buy food out. The wasn’t too much that seemed fancy here, even though I was eating crepes. What would make me feel fancy? Sauces, I think. The was no sauces on the menu. No sauces is not fancy. I had the strawberry, lemon and sugar crêpe($ 6.35 for dessert. I liked it even more than the savory crêpe, but now I’ve spent 14 $(plus trip) on a not very fancy dinner. But I think this is an excellent choice for people like me who love lemon. I can definitely recommend, but you may just want to be like me and master the crêpe so you can produce these at home and save your cash for someplace with fancy sauces.

If I could give 0 stars. I would. I visited this place TWICE during my time in DC. the first time my friend and I were the only 2 people in the place and we waited 15 minutes!!! the second time we were with a group of about 10, and the first girl to order never got her food even after we ALL had finished. she asked a couple times(patiently i might add) and was yelled at by the owner/manager. Another girl ordered a specific crêpe and was given an ENTIRELY wrong crêpe. And again the owner/manager argued with her telling her she was wrong and she ordered what she was served and she could not have a refund or a new item. save the headache. go somewhere else

Delicious! Tons of section whether you’re looking for sweet or savory. Went here for an impromptu breakfast and got a savory crêpe and a sweet one and both were great. One crêpe is large enough to be filling for a meal, but you could easily eat two if you’re starving. The crêpe was cooked perfectly, all the ingredients inside were warm and the crêpe itself was soft and well made. I have no complaints about this place. I would eat here regularly if I lived here, but I don’t.

Oh crepes! I love crepes! Stopped in and ordered a cappuccino to go but stayed and ate a strawberry and nutella crêpe. So light and airy, fluffy and covered in delicious nutella goodness and luscious strawberries.

Good crepes, but slow service. The style here is slightly different than what you would expect from western europe(these crepes are a bit more crunchy and have a more american-style of filler in them) but still very tasty.

We were here earlier today for breakfast. I was excited because they were a crêpe shop offering both sweet and savory crepes, and they also had great coffee. And most importantly, they were not a chain but an original business here in DC. I guess places like these have a special place in my preference ranking of businesses. Anyway, I ordered the morning crêpe, and it contained a mixture of tasty and interesting vegetables, as well as eggs and cheese. It was quite filling, and paired with the latte, it made for a great breakfast. I guess I am withholding the final star since I thought the cleanliness of the place could improve. The place wasn’t dirty per se, but I guess it was the overall interior atmosphere that made me feel like it could improve. The lighting could be a little bit brighter maybe, as the dark interior wasn’t too cheerful and indicative of a clean and well-kept place. Overall, the food and drink was great, but the atmosphere could improve if you care about things like that.

The food was mediocre at best. I ordered a strawberry crêpe, it was literally just a few slices of a strawberry and the crêpe. There was no strawberry sauce or whip cream. The online menu was accurate, for $ 7 though, I could have gone and made my own, with a strawberry sauce. The plus side to this place was that the staff was friendly and courteous. They did assist me with what strawberry crêpe would work best for me. Maybe I’ll have to give this place another shot, maybe the crêpe artist was having a bad day or they were low on ingredients. :-)

We had DC brunch 2 and Eggplant special 16. Prefer 2 everything was fresh. For 16, sat next to the station and saw precooked grilled vege poured into the crêpe. Big no no for me. Flavor was good. Experience was good.

I won’t go back here. The whole experience was a bit underwhelming. I wanted a bit more of a French atmosphere. I ordered a ham, cheese, and egg crêpe and it was bland. I thought the egg would have been sunny side up, but it is scrambled inside. The crêpe didn’t come with any additional garnishes and the presentation was boring. Perhaps a sweet crêpe would have been better. The café latte was just OK as well. There are much better places for coffee.

This quaint, little café piqued my interest so I decided to check it out for lunch. I ordered a savory crêpe, the smoked turkey cranberry. One crêpe will typically cost between $ 7-$ 8. They made the crêpe really quickly– I dined-in and was served in less than five minutes. While the savory crepes aren’t as exciting as the sweet crepes glazed with chocolate sauce or dusted in powered sugar, having a crêpe for lunch was a great — not to mention affordable — alternative to all the sandwich joints or pricier lunch options in the area. The size of the crêpe is pretty big, but one crêpe will probably only do for a light lunch. The place wasn’t too crowded around 1pm– it’s a good place for a quiet sit-down to read a book, catch up with an old friend, or just think. The crêpe itself was cooked beautifully and tasted like a thin pancake. The smoked turkey in the crêpe was not your Thanksgiving turkey(which is what I like)… It was more like the lunch meat that you get at the grocery store in the refrigerated section. There was also cheddar cheese and a chunky cranberry sauce in the crêpe. The smoked turkey cranberry was average, nothing amazing. While I won’t be ordering the smoked turkey cranberry crêpe here again, I’ll definitely come back some time to try a sweet crêpe.

Decent coffee shop at 14th and K. Stopped by prior to a mid afternoon meeting. The shop was pretty empty but the staff was friendly. I got a cappuccino and hung out on the patio. I am always disappointed when a café serves coffee in took cups even for the dining in customers but maybe that is me just being a little to fancy! The patio is a lovely place to spend an afternoon and the fact that it is on the west side of the street means shade all afternoon — always a bonus! The cappuccino was average but the outdoor seating is very nice. Reminded me of a café in Europe.

So happy Point Chaud is still here! We like the simple French café atmosphere, and the new umbrella seating outside. We are suckers for crepes, along with small, family-owned restaurants(vs. the corporate chains.) On this visit for breakfast we had Ham, Cheese & Egg savory crêpe as well as Chestnut Spread & Strawberry. Our son LOVED the Chestnut spread. Maybe not quite as epic as the last visit, but tasty and definitely a great value meal in DC. We also enjoyed the opportunity for French Illy Coffee. Would recommend you check them out.

They have non-dairy gelato! Which is so exciting since my body has decided it hates both dairy and soy. :( …but unfortunately the employee there had no idea what the gelato was made of instead of dairy. Soy? Almond milk? Coconut milk? The tears of angels? She said she had no way to find out and didn’t even know where it came from. And she thought the sorbet was made of the same thing too, which I don’t think is right, but it scared me off. So while the rest of my group had their ice cream, I couldn’t. Major bummer.

The crêpe was fine… I got the Nutella, Banana, Blueberry, Blackberry, Strawberry & Raspberry one to go(came out to over $ 10) and I took it to go. Just a warning: the plastic cutlery they give is NOT strong enough to cut the crêpe. Very flimsy. In retrospect, I should’ve ordered my crêpe without nutella as I’m not really a fan of chocolate. I knocked off the star because of the huge plastic take-out container they gave me. I felt very wasteful and guilty after throwing it out. Hopefully they figure out a better way of packaging or else I probably won’t eat there again.

Ambiance reminded me of a retro, european coffee shop. Loved it! My #48 crêpe along with a café latte, with perfect froth, sealed the deal.
