It’s not worth it. To begin, we waited for 45 minutes for a funnel cake. The cook blamed it on being short-staffed, but he was not taking orders efficiently at all. In my opinion, he was more concerned with flirting with the 18-year-old college students than ensuring good service. In addition, instead of truly apologizing for the wait and granting us the discount that he taunted the students with, he told us that he would give us all a buy-one-get-one deal only if we agreed to buy a dinner plate. And to add insult to injury, the funnel cake was not too good. It was sweet and edible but it did not hit the spot. You could taste the oil. Perhaps it was the end of the day and my dessert was fried in the last of the oil or their food isn’t as good as they claim. I would have given less stars if I didn’t feel a bit bad for the chef. The customer in front of me ripped into him for the wait and his smug demeanor.

They came to Howard homecoming. The owner was very attentive to our needs and feedback. It’s hard to resist that bright pink truck of deliciousness. Takes me back to my Texas fair roots!!!

They have a truck that comes to my school often and I’ve always debated on trying it out, I’m glad I did. They went above and beyond tonight by staying open late and providing excellent customer service to students. The fried oreos and marshmallows were super yummy. :)

So, I went to our nation’s capital for Memorial Day Weekend. I stopped by Reba’s food truck and the fried cheesecake bites caught my eye. Although I was very dissatisfied with the pricing($ 9 for 1 lemonade and an order of cheesecake bites — which only included 2 bites!), I cannot lie– they were absolutely delicious. I wish more would have come with the order because of the price I paid. Other than that, delicious! I would definitely go back.

It’s November and I just came back from waiting 30 minutes in the freezing weather for one cup of ice cream. Unacceptable

I love funnel cakes, so I had to try it! But I was definitely a bit disappointed at the size of the funnel cake especially when one considers the size. The served the funnel cake up quickly, and I definitely enjoyed it. But the moment was so fleeting and forgettable that I was sad. The menu looked promising!

I really enjoyed my funnel cake and red velvet dots!!! Awesome creation! I must admit I was a little skeptical about the truck because everyone claims to have the«best of» but Reba’s really stood by their word! I must also say that the employee was very friendly and helpful! I would definitely stop by again when I see the truck! Thanks!!!

REBA’S FUNNELCAKESAREDELICIOUS! Made to order, fresh fruits atop, customer-friendly staff, and reasonable prices considering I don’t know of any other funnel cake option, without going to an amusement park, etc., I will continue to support and highly recommend to anyone who has a craving for a funnel cake! Ice cream floats and other treats are also options! Kudos to Reba’s! I’ll be back, soon!

3 stars for an «ok» funnel cake. I’m not too impressed with the price we paid, though. I must give them credit — for being stationed front and center for the Cherry Blossom festival, Reba’s was handling orders and fulfilling them pretty quickly. Hubby and I stopped by around 5PM on a Saturday — the line wasn’t terribly long, but there were a few patrons in front of us. Hubby and I both had a hankering for some funnel, and I think we both had expectations of what that meant — for Hubby: fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce, sugar goodness atop a funnel cake, oh. and some ice cream. On the other hand, I just wanted to get down to biz-ness with the cake! Reba’s menu options looked pretty amazing — fried oreos and brownies. Hmm. definitely got my interest and palate peaked! Anyhow, we decided to order a funnel cake with regular sugar, strawberries, and a la mode, of course! The line moved quickly considering the number of orders. Several minutes later we were provided a decent size funnel cake. Unfortunately, there were no fresh strawberries, but there was a mound of ice cream on top! Hubby and I dug in and thought it was«just ok». Just to note — a regular funnel cake is $ 6. With the fixin’s we added, it was a whoppin’ $ 8! For that, we would really hope for some fresh strawberries, but I’m hoping they just ran out from all the foot-traffic they had that day. Overall, if you’ve got a hankering like Hubby and I, it will satisfy your craving. Otherwise, I likely wouldn’t be going back unless it would be to try another goodie.

So this funnel Cake truck was on Howard University campus, and service is far from fast. After I ordered my funnel cake and paid 6.60 for a small with with caramel and strawberry sauce, I was told it was going to be a 10 min wait. Which i agreed to wait. I was the only customer in line at that time. After 15 min of waiting I went back to the stand, I figured they were going to give me a large for my wait. But I saw a rather small funnel cake come out the grease. I didnt have a problem with them going ahead giving me a small, I just wanted some funnel cake, but they put that funnel cake to the side and I waited another 5 min, at this point I just asked for my money back!!! Extremely slow service!!!

You want to support local businesses, but Reba’s serves the smallest, least funneliest funnel cakes I’ve ever seen. Additionally, although it looks like a fast food operation, I think Reba’s might secretly be a part of the slow food movement. The menu looked awesome – a mix of meat items and a number of dreamy-sounding desserts – and I waited in line with a friend of mine who just had to have a funnel cake before leaving the H Street Festival. Although the order line moved at a decent pace, the wait to get the cake had to be darn near 45 min, something that would have been helpful for customers to know in advance. They only had one dude cooking in the back, and the area he worked in seemed to be very small and in no way capable of preparing massive amounts of fast food for crowds. I finally ended up leaving the friend in line and chilled out on a nearby curb of noshing festivalites. When the friend finally returned with the funnel cake, she was quite disappointed. Although she paid $ 5 for it, the cake was flatter and just substandard to any funnel cake I’ve ever been fortunate enough to grub on at comparable prices. Just visually unappetizing. She also mentioned another patron ahead of her giving her funnel cake back to the cook because it was entirely too small. The owner probably just needs to limit her menu to two or three things, and do them quickly and extremely well, like most successful food trucks in the area.

This has got to be one of my worst experiences ever. My coworkers and I had been here before, and we had ok experiences. So we were excited when they came again. We won’t be coming back. We waited in line for fifteen minutes just to get our ORDER in(There was only one person ahead of us), and another fifteen to get our funnel cakes too. That’s HALFANHOUR for a funnel cake. Do these people not keep in mind that people have lunch hours? Also, we came to the truck at 12pm, and the chef/order person were just chatting away, and weren’t even making an effort to get ready. They said they would be ready by 12:30. Boy, if you gonna do the food truck business, you better be ready by 11:30am. So if you add that time on top of the half hour to get our funnel cakes, we waited a total hour for this. It was hot outside, and the owners of the truck were super slow. There was a pregnant lady in front of us and she was pissed; it’s mad hot outside! On top of that, my friend, who also waited half an hour, didn’t even get to get her funnel cake, because«there was something wrong with their frier temperature.» Instead of just telling us it didn’t work, the cook rambled on and on about it. Jesus, haven’t you wasted enough of our time already? Needless to say, NEVER coming here again.

I so wish I can give them no stars! In my 29 years of living this was the worst funnel cake I’ve had in all of my life. I was initially excited about this funnel cake truck because funnel cakes are one of my most favorite things to eat. So when I while I was walking downtown I just so happen to see the funnel cake truck in the park so I decided to finally try it out. I ordered a regular funnel cake with strawberries & whip cream. The guy at the window told me that they didn’t have any strawberries so I just opted for the«strawberry sauce». About 20 seconds later I was handed my funnel cake in a Styrofoam box. First of all, WHERE’S THECAKE? For a whopping $ 7 I got a bunch of pre-made, cold, stale, and crusty box of batter.(Oh don’t worry I will be attaching a picture!) This box of crust had to have been cooked a few hours ago because there’s no way they could have made my funnel cake in 20 seconds. I am so disappointed in this food truck and if Reba’s Funnel Cakes is reading please do not take this review or any other bad review lightly.

I can’t write a full review today, as Reba’s didn’t have any funnel cakes today unfortunately. I have to hand it to them though, they stated the batter was not up to par today, so they would rather avoid serving something that did not meet their own standards. They did have other options available like floats and such. Since I was able to get a peek at their fresh fruit, I requested a bowl of that and they were happy to put together a mixture of sliced strawberries and whole blueberries for a reasonable price. Excellent quality fresh fruit, in stark contrast to a couple of the previous reviewers. I hope next time I get to try their key product — funnel cake — as it is called«Reba’s Funnel Cakes» after all :-P I will post a follow-up next time!

Light as air, crispy, crunchy, sweet, and cooked to order. That’s a good funnel cake. I will agree with others, the price is a bit exorbitant and starting at $ 7 with $ 1 for each fruit topping and $.50 for sauces you could quickly get yourself into a ridiculously priced funnel. This place might be well served to offer some creative«pre-assembled» combos for a fixed price which could save folks a buck or two and offer some creativity — like: a «Red, White, and Blue» with strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream. However, baring the price, my funnel cake was delicious and quite large for the $ 8.50 that I paid for it. I opted for the Reba’s Special with ½ scoop of 2 toppings(strawberries and ice cream) and 1 «sauce»(whipped cream). The strawberries were certainly fresh and quite sweet… I thought the scoop was a bit small but the large(½) scoop of ice-cream made up for it. One funnel could easily serve two people(that aren’t big pigs like me ;) Service took a little while, but the funnel cake was made to order(I watched him fry it). The staff(who I am assuming are the owners) were both very friendly and were keeping up a friendly banter with patrons while waiting. I am knocking of a star for«spendy-ness» combined with the fact that the truck didn’t have any utensils today! I had hoped to sit outside and enjoy my cake but had to return to the office in order to dig up a fork as there is no way you are going to eat a topped funnel with your fingers and not turn into a giant sticky mess. m

Meh. I ventured out in the rain today for a foodtruck two-fer. Phở Junkies and Reba’s Funnel Cakes were parked 2 blocks from work. Seemed like I was going to get food truck fix in a big way. I’ll start by saying I was really excited about the potential food truck funnel cake. Funnel cake is at it’s core a portable fare perfect for walking and eating and should be a perfect addition to the food truck culture here in DC. Sigh, if only. For those hoping for a nice add on to your lunch, they are a bit pricey. At a fair I’d typically pay no more than $ 5 for a funnel cake, but mine came to $ 8.50. I opted to have peaches added(on recommendation from the woman at the window) and chocolate sauce. Two mistakes it seems. I handed my card over, and stood there for almost five minutes while they tried to figure out how to use the credit car reader on their iphone. Finally I was told they couldn’t get a signal and therefore couldn’t process my card. Annoying, but not unheard of in food truck world, I pulled out cash, warned the guy behind me that they were cash only at the moment and stepped out of the way. The actually preparation of the funnel cake took very little time, which makes me think the cake is pre-made and not made on the truck. I couldn’t see into the truck(too high) so I can’t tell you if they have a fryer back there(they must right?) but I certainly didn’t hear the fryer going. However the cake is made, I received mine in under 30 seconds. The cake was just okay. Not particularly fluffy, or warm, and a bit greasier than I’m used to. The flavor definitely fell flat and at $ 8 a pop, I was expecting more. Even more disappointing were the lackluster peaches topping my cake. Three chewy, syrupy peaches sat on the edge of my platter. They were clearly from a can, which is fine, but shouldn’t be advertised as «fresh fruit.» I took a bite and was lft with a sweet-sour taste and decided to toss the rest of them — not good at all. All and all — Reba’s Funnel Cakes is a novelty, but poorly executed and over priced. I will not be back.

I was really excited to see a funnel cake truck in town. What a great idea! Unfortunately, did not quite meet expectations. The Pros: actually rather tasty; wide variety of toppings The Cons: «fresh» strawberries are NOT actually fresh strawberries(they were either previously frozen or cut up two weeks ago); not enough topping; waaaaaaay too greasy; TOOEXPENSIVE. $ 7 for the basic funnel cake, and $ 1+ for each topping. I paid $ 8.25 for a funnel cake with a few old strawberries on top! You don’t even pay that much for funnel cake at an amusement park, and the food at an amusement park is always overpriced! I don’t see anyone spending $ 7 – 10 on lunch and then another $ 7+ on dessert. Reba’s Funnel Cakes food truck has potential, but they’d better lower their prices or else they aren’t going to last. I finished my half of the funnel cake(shared with a co-worker) 20 minutes ago and I still have a nasty greasy taste in my mouth. I never said it wasn’t tasty. It’s just too greasy, and the strawberries weren’t fresh. I don’t know how someone can eat the whole thing– it’s like eating the equivalent of four doughnuts. But way greasier.
