thank go I got out of the apartment they were managing. The apt was a mess when I moved in. They had not completed the promised work. The walls were not spackled and painted in one of the bedrooms. The water heater was just out in the open at the end of the kitchen because they had not coordinated the size of the water heater and the closet door that was supposed to cover it. Maintenance was slow and difficult. My washer broke at one point. It took more than a month to get a new one while I paid elsewhere to do my laundry. Now, I have been out of the apt for 2 months and am still waiting for the security deposit. I was not allowed to be there for the walk-through after I moved out and now am nervous about what imagined damages they may charge me for.

Still a nightmare to rent from them. My closet has collapsed for the fourth time now. They continue to send the same incompetent maintenance repair man who reuses the same faulty materials. Impossible to get ahold of anyone. Even the manager of the building we live in can’t stand them and gets frustrated in her many attempts to work with them.

This is actually the first time I have ever posted a Unilocal review and I’m doing it because I am so frustrated with this rental management company. Their level of care and communication for and with their tenants is ridiculous, especially knowing how much money my wife and I are paying to live in this particular property. Some examples: Shortly after we moved in we were having issues with a leaky faucet in the main bathroom. After several phone calls to a number that is simply a recording, I was finally able to get someone to fix the problem. The repairman did shoddy work and it took him nearly five hours to complete a very small job. When I emailed the managers to ask on which day I was supposed to put the trash out for pickup on the street they responded by telling me to go and ask someone who lives nearby. When I asked them about the cable and internet provider for the building they told me to phone the different companies to find out which one services my house. Don’t even get me started on working with Comcast to get cable and Internet in this unit. My wife and I noticed that when we would cook the kitchen wasn’t properly vented and the exhaust over the stove wasn’t working. And so every time we cooked anything the smoke alarms in the entire apartment would go off. When we asked them to replace the exhaust they said that they would show up one day, didn’t show up, and it was a week later before they fixed the exhaust. Meanwhile, we had to try to make our meals during all this time without setting the smoke alarms off and waking up our newborn son. Finally, the straw that broke the tenant’s back: I awoke this morning to two people walking around inside my apartment. When I went out of the bedroom to confront them they told me that they were scheduled to be in my apartment for cleaning. No warning to me from the company. I am glad that my dog did not come upon them first. I should mention that we’ve only lived in this place for 1 ½ months. It’s so frustrating to me that we are spending so much money to live in this great property and the managers are treating us so poorly. I’m disappointed and I would encourage anyone else who is thinking about renting from these managers to think carefully about your decision. The property might be nice but you may have to deal with some managers who don’t seem to care much for their tenants.

After 5 years with the same wonderful landlord, I made the mistake of moving into an apartment managed by this company. For the first few months, I didn’t even have a phone number to call for them. They switched their name to Rental Solutions and now at least have a number on their website. Maintenance requests require incessant follow up, and even the simplest requests have to be approved by the property owner, which takes more time. When they do come out to repair problems, they do shoddy work. We couldn’t find the air filter to change as a proactive measure, so asked when the company was doing another repair to let us know where it was located. Instead, with no warning or notification, they just took the HVAC apart, and now the AC won’t turn on, nor is it self-explanatory to put back together. The AC unit also uses an unmarked filter, so we can’t even figure out what to buy or where to buy it.(Meanwhile, the company is supposed to provide the filters per rental agreements.) None of the management companies is DC are great, but I’d definitely steer clear of this one!
