Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum

The newly renovated Renwick in DC is an absolutely must see… my hb & I went on Sat at 4:00pm thinking we would just breeze in & out as was nearing closing time… but, we had to wait, at minimum, one half hour in a block long line to get in! It was definitely worth the wait to see all installations. .but, especially the changing multi colored light show on the second floor. It’s totally cool to be able to lie down on the beautifully designed carpet, relax in the darken room and look up at the jaw dropping electric light show on the ceiling and walls. Most people stood in the slowly moving que that circulated the perimeter of the huge room enjoying the rotating, merging red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple —oh, so amazing. But, I, like the many other people lying on the emense soft rug on our backs had the most fun as we felt totally enveloped by the privileged space created by artist (and allowed by The Renwick) to… enjoy with gusto…
