Richman Towers Apartments

There is a serious mold problem in the convectors in my apartment here. If its in my unit, its likely affecting others as well. Management (Van Metre) has been extremely disrespectful toward my health and safety in how they’ve handled the situation. There are a variety of colors and textures of mold growing, some of which look like black mold of the toxic variety. While it may not actually be toxic mold, there are a number of safety precautions you need to take in remediation, ie testing the mold, because it can be really dangerous. Van Metre still denies that it is mold. Management sent maintenance in to clean it and try to hide the problem after I had EXPLICITLY asked them not to without giving me time to cover my furniture and get my pets out of there. There is clearly water leaking and pooling in the convectors so the mold is just going to regrow anyway. Now I’m in the position of either having to pay for expensive testing myself and possibly pursue legal action, or move. Not fun. For your own health and safety, do not move here because the air in your new apartment is chock full of mold spores. Van Metre does not care about your well being.
