Saini Air Conditioning

Honestly, I will coming back to these guys for any HVAC needs. They have been extremely prompt, responsive, kind, fairly price and — most importantly — have fixed the problem, every time. I could not recommend them more highly. You won’t be disappointed. Most other competitors will charge a fee just to come out, then almost immediately recommend replacement parts. These guys come out, diagnose the problem honestly (even if that means a less costly solution) and fix the issue. Service like this is a dying practice. Let’s support them all we can.

I was having an issue with my HVAC and needed someone to diagnose the problem. After looking at reviews on Unilocal,I called Mr. Saini, and received a call back from him about 10 minutes later. It was clear that he was a busy guy and in high demand as he kept getting texts from clients/​customers while on the phone, but he stayed on the call with me for 15 minutes as I described the problem.
He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and good-​hearted, but what impressed me most is that he offered a few potential remedies that I could do myself, rather than, as he said «come out and charge me for the visit and whatever solution he could come up with.» He correctly diagnosed the issue over the phone, and his remedy worked!
You can tell that he is a man of his word, with high integrity, knowledge, and passion for the job and his customers. After dealing with so many different contractors and handymen around DC, it’s so refreshing to communicate with someone like Mr. Saini. If I ever do have a serious issue with my HVAC system, Mr. Saini will be the first person I call!

Rob Saini is fantastic. I see why Saini AC is so highly rated here, definitely deserves the 5 stars. He has integrity, is smart, and very personable. He keeps busy during the summer but managed to get me in the next day to fix our broken AC, all while encouraging me to not feel bad if I find someone else who can come in sooner. He gave me great maintenance tips and even encouraged me to do a simple repair myself to save me a service call. I have been wanting to become more handy, but I don’t want the responsibility for this particular project. He scoped the work much more reasonably than another company from which we’d initially gotten a quote.
Mr. Saini is an upstanding guy and I look forward to continuing to work with him. I just wish I could get an annual service contract, but he says he stays busy enough that he doesn’t do them.

I had such a great experience with Mr. Saini. I needed someone to inspect the units in my townhome prior to tenants moving in, and Mr. Saini was able to do it on an extremely short notice. I left a message with his business line, and a few hours later he called me from his personal phone to schedule the service.
He inspected everything thoroughly, and most importantly for me, explained everything he was doing and answered any questions I had. He didn’t try to push any repairs, but informed me of a part which has a lifespan that is nearing its end and simply to preemptively order a replacement to have on hand, ready to replace, if and when the original fails.
Extremely polite and professional service… I could not ask for more!

You rarely find service like this in D.C. These guys are real professionals.

The best service and just a nice person. I bought my first home a year ago always get afraid when I have to call for any sort of repair. I found Saini to be very honest and professional. He was very quick at fixing my system and must have checked it four times before he left. And, he explained everything to me that was going on. The price was fair and now I have heat! Def saved the day!

I just called and got the answering service. Within minutes, Mr. Saini called me back. It turns out he doesn’t work in condo units, but he still talked to me for about 10 minutes, diagnosing the problem, answering all of my questions, and even giving me an estimate of the likely repair. The whole time he was incredibly nice and helpful. It’s too bad I can’t use him, but if you can, I’m sure he would be equally as wonderful.

Incredible customer service. I called and described my problem, and their rep talked me through several DIY fixes at no cost. He then told me that any larger problems would be best addressed by a larger, full-​service company: have to admire his integrity! I wish there were something I could hire him for.

Mr. Saini was fantastic! He coordinated with my schedule and was even early. He worked quickly and efficiently on my air conditioning unit, explaining what he was doing so that I could trouble shoot any future problems. He made a point of showing me how to fix easy problems so that I wouldn’t have to call anyone and pay lots of money in the future! Great guy. Would absolutely call again or recommend.

Mr. Saini is an angel! I arrived home to a hot house and a non-​functioning AC and left a message with the receptionist. The appointments were running pretty far behind so Mr. Saini called me back and spent about 30 minutes on the phone trouble shooting different options and was patient enough to wait on the line while I tried out each of his suggestions. In the end we discovered that an emergency shut of switch had been triggered because of a blockage in the drain from the condensation pan, he saved me 100s of dollars!!! I highly recommend him, what an honorable guy!

The Saini brothers have helped us through several air conditioning-​related issues in the past few years — I wholeheartedly recommend them for several reasons.
1. Integrity — They’re always trying to find the most cost-​effective solution. And if they can walk you through a solution by phone, they’ll do that and save you the cost of a visit.
2. Communication — They are prompt and responsive. Last night, they were exchanging texts with me at close to 9pm about a problem we were having. They’re also very pleasant and easy to deal with.
3. Skill — They know what they’re doing, including how to deal with all the weirdness of old, cramped rowhouses.
It’s rare to find a service provider who hits on all these cylinders, but the Saini guys do.

We tried to have Saini come by but of course it was the first hot day of spring and he was booked for the next few days with regular customers. He still took the time to call me back and walk me through all the issues to check to make sure it was not something simple such as power breaker, filter, pump, etc. Very nice of him to spend 10 minutes on the phone with me even though he knew he wasn’t going to be able to get our business!

I tried calling Saini a handful of times, and the first time he gave me great advice over the phone. After that, once we tried to book a time for him to come out, and he didn’t come or call. I tried calling a few times after that and noone called me back.

Wow! is about all I can say about these guys.
You can believe everyone of the five star ratings. Rob and his brother inherited this company from their father and they obviously approach their work differently from virtually all other service companies.
Rather than giving priority to maximizing company products, their goals are to 1) Inform the customer as to how their heating and cooling system works and 2) Make sure their workmanship is of the highest quality.
Rob literally spent two hours at my place inspecting and repairing a leaky furnace yet he charged me a fraction of the amount I was expecting. I think that’s because much of his visit involved explaining how my heating and AC system works and inspecting the system to see if there were any other potential problems. He did a first class job and refused to leave until he was sure the leak was addressed.
Finally, Rob is just an incredibly nice guy. I actually felt bad when he left. I wish I had such a decent person as my neighbor.
I feel incredibly grateful to have found this company.

Great service. We called Saini on a Saturday, after discovering our furnace wasn’t coming on. We left a voice mail with their answering machine and heard back within an hour. As some of the other reviews say, he helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone, and we quickly found the issue — the on/​off switch for the furnace, which I didn’t now existed, had been turned off. Since this isn’t a review of my boneheaded ignorance of all things furnace (or, maybe, common sense) related, let’s skip over the fact that I didn’t figure this out on my own. More to the point: Someone at Saini spoke to me on a Saturday, got my heat working again in a few minutes, and didn’t charge me a dime. That’s five-​star service.

A rather odd exchange with the Saini Air Conditioning agent.
After looking at all the five star reviews, I called to have an estimate done on having our thermostat moved (one of those situations where the previous owner thought himself a handyman and had decided to move the thermostat from its initial location on the wall, to mounting it on the side of some awkward homemade shelving).
Needless to say, I was surprised when I spoke with one of the agents and he said «oh, you’re in the NE, I thought you were one of our SW customers.» A strange comment, considering they’re exactly two miles away, not operating in Winchester or Baltimore.
The guy then asked me about my having a boiler or central air, and then said they «don’t work with boilers right now.» I then asked him if just moving the thermostat would affect anything to do with the boiler. «Well, no.»
I’m not going to give them one star to throw off people who look at the overall review for this place, as I’m sure they do good work if they actually deign to have you as a customer. That said, they must be pretty popular if they don’t need my business that much.

Well my ac unit went out again, and again Mr. Saini walked me through some steps, but this time it wasn’t working. When I tried to manually turn the fan it made a grinding noise. So, I scheduled an appointment for Mr. Saini to come out and look at the unit. Turns out the motor was bad and had to be replaced. He came back the next day and replaced the motor. Everything is working perfectly and has been for the past two weeks. He was a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend him.

My «through the wall» AC unit blew out right as the big July heat wave hit. Seeing the high Unilocal ratings, I called Saini and they returned my call within a day. Rather than try to sell me something I didn’t need, they gave me good advice about how I could replace the AC unit on my own for much less money. They even helped me troubleshoot whether it might be the AC unit itself or the power outlet/​circuit breaker. I highly recommend Saini Air Conditioning as honest, helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely be giving them a call if I need help in the future.

These guys are great. Our HVAC was leaking. They came to our house, explained exactly what was going wrong (we needed a plumber to reroute some condensation into the sewer system), recommended some plumbing professionals, and didn’t charge me. I almost can’t wait for my stuff to break so I can hire them.
Also, they have an answering system. I called early in the morning on one of the coldest days of the year and someone answered! Very professional and friendly people.
