My boyfriend took his work slacks to get the zipper repaired. The guy said $ 20, which is really steep and then he charged him an extra $ 5.50 for nothing. Hidden charges and trying to be sneaky…

It’s a dry cleaners that does a bad job of cleaning clothes, that’s why it gets a 1*. When I complained, I got a lot of excuses including«the shirt collar is dirty because of the oil in your hair» — well that’s why I brought it to you!!! They also initially said that I hadn’t requested for the jacket to be dry cleaned, just altered and that’s why it was dirty. But when I showerd them the ticket(and how much I paid) — they said they’d dry cleaned it and it was clean. I noticed that ever since Georgetown Valet opened Smile makes a point of doing a 1 day service. I’m positve quality has suffered as a result. They were very rude to me thing morning, but I think they are nice people working really hard so it’s just difficult for them to deal with complaints. But as nice as they probably are, you can’t expect to run a dry cleaners when you send out dirty clothes. I’m upset because I need to find a decent place to clean my clothes!

To make a long story short, they lost my clothes, gave me $ 200 as compensation(which didn’t come close to covering the cost of the clothes), finally found the clothes after two months and asked for $ 20 of the $ 200 back when I picked them up. To add insult to injury, when I got home I realized the clothes were all horrible wrinkled and they will have to go right back out to a different dry cleaners. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.

This place is horrible. I had a few alterations done and they took in way too much and ruined my pants. They did not speak enough english to understand that I was not satisfied with the garment. Also, they are overpriced.

My roommate and I started going to this dry cleaner because it was in walking distance of our home. They do a nice job of dry cleaning and pressing your clothes, and Ive had a few pairs of pants hemmed there as well. The biggest issue is the price. We’ve asked for a price list a few times and they have not shown us one. We feel like we’re getting ripped of every time we go there because the owners are always asking us how our jobs are going and if we’re making enough money. Its very awkward. The prices are really high they charged us eleven dollars to dry clean a skirt suit!!! I only go to this location now if Im really in a bind and I need something done for next day, but I would try out other cleaners in the neighborhood that have an established price list.

I have had the most degrading dry clean experience of my life. Satisfaction is certainly not guaranteed at Smile Cleaners. I moved to NEDC in 2005. Shortly after, I found Smile Cleaners. The couple running the place was friendly and I became a regular patron immediately. Even when I moved to NW, I continued to drive to Smile. Well– 2 weeks ago, I went to pick up and drop off clothing. One of the shirts I was picking up didn’t look very good. The back of it had those wrinkles you get from driving only they had been pressed into the shirt. I showed the young boy working there and he said that it wasn’t right and he would have it redone. Fine– sounds great! I went and picked up all my clothes 2 days later and everything looked great. 2 transactions later I noticed that the lady owner was no longer chatting with me or calling me by name. Additionally, I noticed that the price of my cleaning had gone up– a lot. Shirt cleaning went from $ 4 – 5. Given the neighborhood, I questioned whether they were taking advantage of me. I’m really nice so, it;s been known to happen. Well 2 days ago I went to pick up my 2 shirts for $ 11 and the lady got my clothes and then started asking me to look at the and inspect them in a very intense manner. I said they look great. She said –she didn’t want me returning them like I always did. I said«what are you talking about? I don’t return things!» She said that my cotton shirts were very difficult to take care of and she wouldn’t have me always returning them. She said I had done it twice. Twice since 2005? So, I told her that I wouldn’t be back at all. They had lost my business. Still I feel so frustrated. I realize now that they were punishing me by charging me extra for not just taking a shirt that had been pressed incorrectly. Don’t go here! They’re bizarre.
