We went to hear some Thursday night live Jazz … the performance was wonderful, they featured Rodney Kelley Jazz Experience. .. Rodney is a great guitarist, and usually its a trio with him, and a bass player Tony Lundsford, drummer Earl Ivey … also a Sax player… because Rodney knows many musicians you will probably experience other performers that stop by and will entertain you as well, this is very nice!. .. FYI … Open Mic activity, so if you want to try your vocals or musical abilities they will give you chance to do so.. .. very good sound system, so you will hear the quality of the music! Its definitely a venue for the older 60 plus crew, after all its best known as a hand dance club. .. . plenty of room to do your thing on the dance floor! … ample seating available.. .. Parking can be dicey, you may find it necessary to park on the street and walk to the location.. . as far as food goes, its very simple(wings, whiting, garden salad or fries) … staff is friendly and accommodating . If you are a hand dancer this is the place for you, if you are looking for a 65 and up crowd this is the place for you to be, … if you’re looking for an alternative to Pop or R&B Current Dance Club Style then you might want to try The Eclipse. Dress Code for Jazz Night as I could see was Job Casual, example pantsuits and blouses for ladies, no need to dress up(save your heels) its a very laid back atmosphere, Blue Jeans are not exactly appropriate, but there are fashion jeans, heels and blouses that ladies might be able to be okay with, but fellas No Blue Jeans. .. No Sneakers. .. No Baseball Caps(not a good look) granted I did see them, but to each his own, it just pulled the hoped for quality of the venue down. If you just want to sit and listen to live performers or bop and hand dance this is your place.
