When I need to get my study game on, this is one of my go-to places. The baristas here enjoy their job and are friendly. Drinks are made right and I haven’t had any issues so far. Wi-Fi is very fast and the location is great for transit users like me. Store is clean and noise from other customers is tolerable. It’s difficult to find a seat though — I ended up sitting on the bar because the tables were occupied.

Staff is cool and friendly. Make sure they repeat your order back to you though. Cashier has got my order wrong a couple of times. But I’m kinda picky, they were honest mistakes and, luckily, I was able to catch them before they got to the Barista. Great laptop areas and fairly quiet. I like… I like… :)

I was exhausted and tired after a long day of running around and suddenly I needed a boost, so I came upon Starbucks in Adam’s Morgan. The barista Ray was already hard at work behind the counter but that didn’t stop him from welcoming me with a bright friendly smile. My order is acustom made drink and it’s always a complicated order but Ray knew what was going on right away. His co-worker Khalil steped right in and got to making my drink and it was really great, exactly how I like it. Both of these guys were energetic about their work and have a catchy positive attitude, and even asked me how I was doing. When I asked them for water they very politely gave me some. It’s the end of my work night and these guys Ray and Khalil made everything awesome.

The staff is nice but they don’t do the best job keeping the place clean(seem to be getting better though). Not the best Starbucks but not the worst. Glad to have it in the neighborhood for the convenience.

My 2nd go to spot when Tryst is packed… fast service, you need a code for the bathroom, pretty ok privacy and quietness before 2:00 pm. after 2, ohhh helllsss no. have you heard people freestyling out loud for minutes on end? Come to this starbucks. Have you heard conversations go right over you b/c you want to sit in a corner while others sandwich you? Have you ever mind your own business doing your work while individuals that frequent that corner carry on a 30 minute conversation with you about their previous life??? well come on down!!! yay for plugs, starbuck drinks, and free wifi BEFORE2:00 pm. after that, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This place has vastly improved. Still slow but improving. But there still exists some issues like slow service, awful bathrooms, barista carelessness and the fact you can never hear yourself in here.

They have outlets for DAYS. It’s pretty much heaven for laptop users.

Come here and get: CLOVERBREW!!, comfy seating and tables, a medium size front patio, an active scene What I got: I live walking distance from this lovely caffeine addict townhouse. It’s very well equip with an area just for lounging and relaxing, and an area for those who need a table. The interior design is unlike any other: lots of dark wood, maroon colored couch, deep browns and splashes of art here and there. It’s semi trendy, and definitely thoughtful. The service is pretty good. As with any place, they go through transition, and right now in August they have lost some good employees and training others. Be patient and even introduce yourself if you are a regular… you’d be surprised at the quality of your experience after that! It’s definitely an active location. During coffee rush hours, expect long lines just like other locations. Always expect an almost full house, and if you choose to sit out in the patio, you are going to have a load of noise since 18th and Columbia brings in lots of transportation trucks, and several bus lines run through here. By the way, if you haven’t tried spending a little more for the Clover Brewing coffees, and if you LOVE coffee, then you are certainly MISSINGOUT! The Kenya iced coffee is so smooth on the palate in contrast to the regular iced coffee… but you’ll have to try both of them straight up black as night if you want to know what I mean. Enjoy a new experience and order a Kenyan Iced coffee the next time you are passing through beloved AdMo community.

The interior has beautiful wood paneling and is prettier than your average«commuter» Starbucks, but this location is lacking in a few major ways: — WiFi, while free, is slow enough that it is nearly impossible to get anything done. — Pricing seems higher than Starbucks’ already absurd pricing at other locations — They definitely used regular syrup when I asked for sugar-free, even though I double-checked with the barista upon picking up my drink(the sugar high about an hour later was a tell-tale sign, as well as the fact that the drink was WAY sweeter than usual) Not the best Starbucks experience.

«Independent coffee shops for life! Down with Starbucks! Fair trade forev…» Oh crap, I admit it. I went to a Starbucks when an independent coffee shop was nearby. I ran out of time on my lunch break while working from«home» and Tryst was a crapshow on a Friday afternoon. So I went across the street hoping that Starbucks wouldn’t be more of the same. It was empty. Now to say the«downtown Adams Morgan» Starbucks is a nice, quiet work from«home» environment would be pushing it. For one thing, the staff plays the music incredibly loud. And there are some creepy characters in here who seem to have no problem asking people to use their computers. While they’re on the phone. Also the internet could have used a shot of espresso at times. It dragged tremendously on occasion. But, in general, the large communal area had a good supply of power outlets and comfortable seats. And the motif of this Starbucks separates it a little from the pack as well. The fake wood, cabiney feel of it makes for a relaxing vibe. Not that one can confuse the busy views of Calvert Street with the deep woods, but it’s better than a sterile chainy Starbucks for sure. Politically it felt good to see this place empty while Tryst was full. But, logically, I knew I had no choice and it proved a good option to work at for a few hours. So I was willing to lose a few hipster points in the mix.

When you’ve been to one, you’ve been to them all. The store layout is the same as the rest — the primary difference that makes this one a winner is the outdoor seating. On a good day, you can watch the throngs of people running, walking, begging, and otherwise hanging out at the corner of 18th, Columbia, and Calvert Streets. When the weather is good, this is the place to be — otherwise it’s quite the seasonal spot where they won’t even put the furniture out if it’s below 50 degrees.

lol this is the worst starbucks i’ve ever been in. The service was ok, but the tables were really ghetto and the whole place just didn’t have that warm, cozy, «starbucks vibe.» It was more of the«I’m in a public library and the guy across from me is probably looking at sketchy craigslist ads» vibe. I asked this guy if i could sit across him, but he was too busy drooling while looking through his bag to answer me. ew I moved to the communal table with the outlets and got a seat. The guy across from me was taking a nap. The table was also peeling and all scratched up. To top it off, the internet was really slow and wouldn’t work with my laptop. Needless to say, I got up and moved to Caliyogurt. The only good thing about this place is that it’s a warm place to go when you’re waiting for the 42/L2 bus.

This is a pretty good Starbucks location. The staff was very friendly to us. We stopped by three times over our vacation(9⁄13 — 9⁄17) and everything was consistent. They kept the line moving as well. They carry the fresh and delicious Bistro Boxes here! Hurray! Only two complaints: toilet paper… they need to check their bathrooms more frequently. Also, the tables outside are wobbly and need to be repaired… our coffees almost went flying…

Came here to study for MCAT on a Saturday. Waas way quieter than Tryst and ample space. The staff was friendly, and didn’t bother me even though I only bought one drink and didn’t leave for a few hours. Was able to find a table with an electric outlet after about 10 minutes. The one problem was the thermostat was set to a little too cold, so bring a sweater. Overall a good place to study until 10pm on saturdays.

If I remembered to check in every time I come in here, I would’ve gotten my Regular check-in badge a long time ago! The baristas are all really nice here, one of them sometimes can be a bit spacey, but she always tries to make up for it the next time we’re in there. Although I’m all about supporting the mom and pop small businesses, it is nice to be able to get free refills here when you have made enough purchases with your Starbucks card.

I have found the the staff here to always be cheery and fastidious. They seem to always try to get it right and succeed. I regularly come here for a post yoga iced green tea lemonade and am always pleased with the service even though there often is a line and it is standing room only. I have also come here on major holidays early in the morning when nothing else seems to be open and have been greeted with a smile so I don’t think it is just my post Stroga bliss talking when I say that the they do a great job here! I don’t drink the coffee all that much anymore(except the Christmas blend) but I really like their other drinks like the iced green tea with lemonade, This particular store is very convenient. When it’s warmer it is nice to sit outside and watch the people go by at the busiest crossroads in Adams Morgan. The free ATT wifi works well here too and there is a lot of work table space to use.

I can definitely understand why this Starbucks has an average rating of two stars. When contemplating whether or not to go to this Starbucks I saw the two stars and thought, «It’s Starbucks. It’s in the middle of Adams Morgan. How could it be that bad?» Well, it is. I mean, it’s still Starbucks so at least there’s a protocol for the drinks. Otherwise, this coffee shop would be a real ‘miss.‘ I went out for morning coffee during the week. I ordered two drinks. I got one right away. Then four other drinks came out. None was the second drink. And, the barista changed in between that. I asked about my drink, and they were like, «Oh, yeah.» I mean, they weren’t really that busy or anything. There were four people behind the counter and it seemed chaotic. Then when the barista finally put the drink down, she put it so close to her side of the counter I could barely reach it. Seriously? Two stars vs one because our drinks were fine. But, I’m hoping to find a better coffee spot as my regular destination.

A tall nonfat caramel frap does not mean a tall fullfat mocha frap with whip. And I was the only person ordering. Who knows what kind of concoction I would have received if this Starbucks had the usual line of people at the counter.

As many of you know, in the fall season, I exclusively order pumpkin spice lattes on my weekly visit to Starbucks. This generally continues until the red cups are released(yay!!) when I switch to gingerbread lattes. Question: Was it just me or were the red cups being distributed earlier than usual this year? I am thinking yes, but then again, I don’t remember exactly when the switch takes place. Nonetheless, being that red cups are now here, I felt obligated to switch over to my standard red cup seasonal drink — gingerbread lattes. Unfortunately, no gingerbread lattes this year; it has been substituted with gingerSNAP lattes — an acceptable replacement, I say. The gingersnap latte has a bit more bite than its predecessor and is topped with authentic crystallized ginger. The ginger pieces will sink to the bottom and resurface once you are drinking the last swallows of your beverage. I was a little surprised at first because I had no idea that I would be eating ginger pieces but I have found them to be a nice addition.
