The female workers here seem to always have an attitude problem… The manger is quite awesome, however he should do some clean up on his staff. Constantly I have received an attitude from the staff, it’s almost like they don’t want you to order anything… And don’t let your drink be made wrong, they will go left if you give it back for it to be made correctly. I no longer use this one, I deal with the slow but friendly and accurate service in the Starbucks in the Harris Teeter.

The service was atrocious, but only by one rude worker in particular. He was so rude that he ruined my mood. We didn’t realize that they were about to close when we went on a cold, rainy, windy Saturday. We found a seat and started chatting. Then, we noticed that it seemed like one lady was asked to leave. I wasn’t sure why, just noted to my friend that it was odd. Then, other people are asked to leave. We were in a conversation, and finally the guy working there came over for the very first time to us and rudely told us to leave because they were closed. As previously mentioned, it was cold, wet, and windy(the hurricane was rolling through the East Coast that weekend), so I wanted to look at my phone to see when the bus or metro was coming. He basically told me to leave right away and pointed out where the stop was across the street. D’uh, I knew were the stop was, just would have appreciated the 5 seconds I needed to look up transit times. Also, they ran out of all non-dairy milk that day, which multiple people besides me wanted to order. Maybe it was because Veg Fest was nearby that day, but you think they would have been more prepared. I’m never going back to this location — there are enough coffee places in DC, and the worker could have been more polite when saying they were closed.

Usually this location is one of my favorites. My orders are usually correct(only had to ask for a drink to be remade once) and the people that work here are usually very friendly.

Ahhhh! This is a smaller store with the standard menu and food. There are a limited number of tables, but plenty of bar stools that overlook the Navy Yard Metro. This one gets super crowded in the AM since it is part of the USDOT headquarters.

It’s 943 on Saturday morning and they are not even open. What kind of coffee shop does not open until 10AM?

Slowest Starbucks ever. Don’t even think of going here on a Saturday morning and hoping to order in under 20 minutes. They also run out of soy towards the end of the week.

I continued to be disappointed by less then stellar service. The location only does well because it is under the department of transportation. Need a remodel and some caring staff

Tad bit dysfunctional. just because they write your name on your cup, doesn’t mean it’s the cup or order you’ll get! A lot of this confusion is due to fast grabbing customers… But customers are forced to stand unorganized around the shop… The they could stay in formation there wouldn’t be this problem. Also it might help if You Call The Name On The Cup not the name of the drink!

I go to this Starbucks 4 – 5 days a week. The service is fantastic. They make a point to learn your name and your order. Yes, the line can be quite long but you won’t wait long. The staff is very fast and they keep the line moving. I look forward to going in there in the morning. I’m greeted with a smile and if I get there and the line is only 4 – 5 people long my drink is usually waiting on me before I get done paying. This is the service I have always received, not just since I’ve become a regular.

Tip — Keep your receipt and make sure they start on your drink before you walk away from the register. I paid for one of their already over priced drinks and they forgot to make it as soon as I walked away. I’d be more accepting if it were busy at the time, but there was no one in there ordering drinks but me. I’ve had positive experiences at this Starbucks before so this may have been one of those days. I still suggest to ask for a receipt and make sure they start your drink.

Service here doesn’t come with a smile and don’t expect the spelling of your name on your cup to be anything recognizable or close to what’s on your driver’s license. The line here is long, especially if you come here between 8 and 10am. That being said, do expect to get through the line quickly, efficiently and to have your drink made correctly and to taste every time. The woman who mans the espresso machine is a beast, making and cranking out drinks faster than you can say«no whip».

No wifi so that automatically makes this place lose 3 stars in my book. The coffee tastes like Starbucks. And I found 11 cents on the floor, so I guess that’s good.

Friendly staff and good drinks. The downside of this Starbucks is that there is no comfortable seating and it’s poorly laid out. Very average experience on the whole. Next time I’m in this neighborhood I will most likely try a different coffee place.

Update. It has been a year since I set foot in there. I went into pick up some bagged coffee .was an «emergency» and it is convenient. They listened. A complete new staff and attitude. Place was reasonably clean. Went back a couple times to see if it was a fluke. Appears to be real. If I were in Starbucks regional or national management I would close this pigsty immediately no matter how profitable it may be; it is a blight on the whole corporation. I would only reopen it after firing the entire staff(if you can call these rude lazy slime balls a ‘staff’) and having the place professionally cleaned. Honestly, I wish I could say something positive about the joint but there is nothing remotely positive to say. The ills of this store are 100% because of the employees; the absolute worst crew ever to wear a Starbucks name tag. They have to be a reflection of their management, there is no other reason they could get away with the level of hostility and indifference they exhibit to the customers. I am a Starbucks stockholder and even I say, «Stay away».

Sometimes the coffee here is «burnt» or «strong». I always taste it before I leave — seems fine initially but as soon as I get in my car and drive away IT’s DISGUSTING! I seem to keep going back for the torture, thinking — «this time, it’s going to be better» — nope! All I ever order is a EXTRA hot Mocha with whip — the size will vary depending on my sttitude that morning. One particular day, I came in to a slow store. The staff were laughing, carrying on and having a GRANDE ol’ time. One staff-member was mopping the floors. I placed my order. I look up and the woman who was cleaning the floors was making my drink — NOSHEDIDNTWASH her hands. I was dazed. I was speechless. I almost thought she had a twin who must have been still mopping behind me — NOT! When I asked to speak to the manager, she half-heartedly told me that she would talk to her and offered another drink on the house. No thanks. I’m totally done. No more stopping here for me on the way to work. I will wait until I get to work and walk a block. There are waaaaaaaaaay many Starbucks in the area to deal with bad service and non-chalant attitudes.

Ok I ordered a grande chai teabag(I have to differentiate between the teabag or else they think chai latte) and the barista asks me if I want hot water with it. Yes. Thank you for asking.(what would I have done with just a teabag? Munch on tea leaves?)
