The worst Subway in the Washington DC area. First off they have a poorly written sign stating that the credit card machine was down. Second I ordered a Meatball sub and they were completely out of meat and did not offer to make some more. I then asked the sandwich maker what other sandwiches were available He responded every other one but turns out they were out of white bread. I had to settle for a subway seafood on parmesan garlic bread which was disgusting. When I finally got to the counter and paid cash. I was charged an even amount and not given a receipt which makes me suspicious about the credit card machine being«broken» This is obviously a franchise run by second rate cheap owners and Subway corporate needs to step in.

This place is a restaurant nightmare. You only get one choice of bread which was white, the beard wasn’t fresh at all, most of the fountain drinks don’t work and has no ice, only two selections of chips(been like this for two weeks straight) they had little to none toppings, never have I ever seen a business like this that is STILLINBUSINESS. Hopefully the owner get off his high horse and get a hold of his store soon.

As others have commented, the staff here is unfriendly and will argue with you at the drop of a hat. In one particular instance, I saw a sign on the door advertising a $ 4 lunch, which included one of five or so different 6-inch subs and a fountain drink. At the counter, I said I wanted the $ 4 lunch and she pointed to another sign posted on the curved glass listing the subs that were included in the deal. I chose meatball. When I got to the end of the counter, a man who I assume was the manager asked me if I wanted chips and a drink. I said I just wanted the drink included in the $ 4 lunch. He immediately raised his voice and said they didn’t have a deal like that going on. I mentioned the sign advertising it and he got angrier and said«What sign!?» I walked over and pointed to it, and then without missing a beat, he stated very condescendingly that the deal didn’t start until tomorrow(even though neither posted sign listed dates). At that point, I just wanted to get out, so I shrugged and left with my sandwich sans drink. As I was leaving I saw one of the workers start to peel one of the signs off. Awful.

The employees here are so rude, they are acting like they don’t what to see you. Maybe they need more sleep. They are arguing with a consumer because they gave him $ 5 short & theyare denying it.

I work nearby. Avoid this Subway. You’re unwelcome. They bark at you for your order, herd you like a cow, and sell the worst coffee this side of the Mississippi. Go a few steps south instead, to a friendlier Subway, on 17th just south of K.

I work in Downtown DC — plenty and plenty of Subways to go to… stay away from this one! However, if you want a half-ass sandwich, this is the place to go. Unfriendly staff, bread that is not fresh… putrid vegetables… yeah, try any other Subways around the area — stay away from this one. Yuck.

I can’t speak for the food, but when I stumbled in here on a hot and humid Saturday, sweaty, red-faced, and disheveled from running, and croaked for a glass of water, they gave it to me without hesitation. Thank you! You saved me from imminent heat exhaustion. Ok, maybe not heat exhaustion, but at the very least dehydration.

Compared to the other Subways’s I have to say that this is one of the best Subway’s I had ever been to. I love this Subway franchise because the two workers that work there are very nice and patient. The workers there love working there and to me, I believe they love there job. Everytime I go there I am greeted with a smile from both workers. When the workers are playing around, the two workers usually get the customer involved in there little play time to put a smile on the customer’s face. I like that about the subway because it shows not only there about the business but to put a smile on the customer’s face. The only bad thing I can think about this Subway Franchise is that there are only 3 seats to sit down on. Other then that, 4 outta 5.

NO! I Don’t Want It Freakin Toasted! I have eaten at a Subway 3 times a week for about 30 years now. They have changed slightly over the years, some things for good, but some bad. The good stuff is the new choice of breads and sauces. I love my sauces, especially Chipotle. The bad stuff is changing things that aren’t broken. About 5 years back they started offering toasted subs and that’s when things started to get annoying. Before toasting, the line flow was down to a science: Pick bread, pick meat, pick toppings, pay. Yay, easy! Now they try to push toasting the sub on you and it breaks up the flow. Now its pick bread and meat and WAIT. Also you have some people that succumbed to the toasting and others that didn’t and you have to follow your sub or it will get lost. I often have to fight with the order taker to NOT toast my bread. The looks I get are a range of confusion and annoyance. I often have to yell at the guy to bring back my sub after scurrying off to the toaster. Just for fun, one time after saying«no» when the order taker asked me if I wanted it toasted, and then scurried off, I didn’t shout to call him back. I moved up in line and when the topping guy asked me what sub is mine, I said Philly Cheese Steak, Italian bread, not toasted. He looked up and down the line and then a terror crept into his eyes. After a bit of asking around, he eventually had 4 people looking for my lost sub. When they found it another 3 people joined the fray trying to figure out the breakdown of the system. I promise I will not do that again. Oh, I almost forgot the reason for my review. This store one upped the toasting fiasco. «Double Meat?» is now the new catch phrase. Now you have to argue with the guy at this location why you don’t want double meat. Hmm… What do you think would happen if I mumbled a «no» and then only spoke up at the checkout?

There are several Subway locations around this area, but I have found this one the best. Even passing it on the street is an experience– they open their two huge doors during the warm days, and the smell of baked bread fills the entire block. And to me, the smell of baked bread is reassurance that I am not getting the reject bread from the day before. The restaurant itself it delightful– wood floors combined with the wide open doors and ceiling high windows makes everything seem clean and fresh. This particular subway is definitely designed for the working person’s lunch experience– there is more seating at this subway than any other I have seen. Clean tables, floors, wide open space between tables. The ingredients seem no different than any other Subway – definitely no surprises there. The green peppers are crunchy, thats always a good sign. Due to getting vegetarian sandwiches, I often get extra cheese, and they either forget to charge me or don’t care enough. Either way, I’ll take it. Definitely a nice place to spend your lunch break. It is very welcoming, and a nicer than average atmosphere for a deli-chain.
