The staff here could be more helpful. Why do they stop selling lottery tickets at 4:00 p.m. Is it because they don’t want to cash in any more lottery tickets after that time? Is this policy compliant with their obligations as DC lottery franchisees? This business does not give back to the community in any noticeable fashion. The owners seem to be keenly aware of the price competition they face. Now that CVS has opened upstairs, their ability to overcharge for needful items like aspirin has been curtailed. It seems that the owners are happy to exploit their monopoly… on the newsstand business in Friendship Heights. The staff appear generally surly and condescending. Hating the customers is rarely an effective way to earn repeat business.
