What a wonderful experience! The food was incredible and the wine section is among the best in DC. I am blown away that this is a new restaurant. Feels like a well run operation that has been around for decades. Who thought you could find a downtown quality dining experience in NW!

Food was good. Service was a bit slow. Not mind blowing but definitely a good, quiet spot.

Cozey atmosphere, decadent seafood bisque, perfectly portioned paninis, everything was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Really nice atmosphere and the staff were attentive and friendly. Calamari is a favorite of mine and I was impressed. Only comment would be that the portions were small.

I have been longing for a solid casual Italian restaurant in the neighborhood and was so pleasantly surprised to learn that Abdi(who we know from his previous restaurant) had pursued his dream to finally open his own place. My son and I enjoyed a tasty lunch of various pasta dishes with Abdi’s attentiveness and hospitality there the entire time to make our experience wonderful. We will definitely be back with the entire family often. Congratulations Abdi … Tartufo is already a success!

Enjoyed a delicious meal on New Year’s Eve at Tartufo as first time patrons. The attentive staff was decked out in party gear and the atmosphere was both warm and festive. We enjoyed all items served, especially the lobster ravioli special and the tagliatelle ragu. The salads were tasty as well, but noticeably under-portioned — a few bites, but not more than that. As neighbors of the this new and welcome addition to Tenleytown, we would definitely return.

I wish that I could give it 6 stars! I saw the reviews on Unilocal and we were in the neighborhood, so decided to try it out. We walked in and Abdi, who had been at DiCarlos for years, greeted my mother with a huge hug. She has been a long time DiCarlo customer and has known Abdi for years. That was a pleasant surprise in and of itself, but the food was delicious, Italian food. I had the Diane Rehm salad, which came with the soup of the day which was cream of mushroom. I wasn’t a huge fan of cream of mushroom soup before I ate this – wonderfully rich with bits of pistachio on top. My Mom had fettuccine Alfredo and our friend had spaghetti alla vongole – both delicious. Leave room for dessert because the tiramisu and Tartufo are yummy. The atmosphere is quaint and cute. You feel like you are in a mom and pop restaurant in Italy.

New. cosy. warm and welcoming, Italian cuisine in the Friendship neighborhood. Meltingly tender Tartufo Chicken, yummy garlicky mussels, well-mixed cocktails and the signature Tartufo dessert. A perfectly delicious evening.

Hosted a luncheon for a colleague here. Working with Abdi was a treat — he has a terrific vision and put together a lovely menu. We were a group of 25 and the setting was perfect — lunch was three well executed courses in the main dining room. Nice sized salmon entrée and the cappuccino gelato was a perfect ending on a warm winter day. Everyone was delighted with their meals.

My boyfriend and I stopped in yesterday for lunch for the first time and this place was perfect! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I got the spaghetti bolognese and my boyfriend got the ravioli, both were great! We both got the tartufo for dessert, so good! My boyfriend got an espresso and I enjoyed a perfect cappuccino. We were the only people in the place for the whole meal which made me nervous about the staff hovering too much, but they were only there when we needed them and didn’t over crowd. The prices were great, especially for DC. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend.

Finally tried Tartufo and it was great. Tried to have dinner on a Friday evening but it was booked solid. Had a great lunch, today. Tried the Carbonara and the Rucola salad. Generous portions and quality ingredients. Carbonara was packed with pancetta. The Rucola salad came with delicious grilled shrimp, oranges and pignoli served with a cup of soup. Service was friendly and professional. The owner brought us a wonderful lemon tart. So good. This will be on our list of regulars.

Fabulous new tenelytown restaurant. Went there for a birthday dinner, and great night all around. Food was very very good, the special trout, and ravoli to die for, superb service and nice atmosphere. A great addition to our local restaurant fare — walking distance from home(or tenelytown metro.) Can’t wait to go again and tell the neighbors.

Delicious dinner, beautifully prepared and served. Poignant yet diverse menu with nice wine selection. Inviting ambiance and cozy seating in an excellent location with reasonable parking nearby. Can’t wait to try lunch! Oh — and be sure to try the Tartufo!

This was our first time eating at Tartufo and we were so pleased with our experience. We had the veal and also a tagliotelle pasta dish. Both were hot and pleasantly presented. Portions are sized perfectly and the spinach salad was delicious. Calamari is a little salty… our only criticism! The atmosphere is pleasant with the manager, Abi, very much present and welcoming. The prices are extremely reasonable too! We will return…

Fantastic addition to the Tenleytown neighborhood! First impression is warm, inviting atmosphere, attention to details, friendly staff. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of glasses of Valpolicella while browsing the menu and noticed immediately how affordable their dinner menu was as well as a wine list. We ordered arugula salad, tagliotelle, ravioli… and more wine. Great flavor, satisfying favorite was the ravioli dish! Delicate, balanced, flavorful and light at the same time finished with a touch of lemon zest. We left very happy and definitely coming back soon. One of the best value in town!

Came here with my family over Columbus Day weekend, and we wondered if they weren’t having maybe some trouble adjusting to the crowds and the pace as a relatively new restaurant. Most of the food was fine, but not great. We waited a long time for our entrees(about 40⁄45 minutes) and some my food came out cold, and both my mother and sister we missing elements of their dishes that were listed on the menu, and my dad’s carbonara was kind of off. I don’t want to give them a bad review, but it was not great considering how expensive it was. Hopefully they’ll work out the kinks soon.

I stopped in here for an early dinner tonight. The atmosphere is very cozy, and a nice escape from the cold air outside. I ordered the tagliatelle with ragu and it was delicious. The portion was just right, so you left satisfied, but not stuffed. They had beautiful jazz music playing at just the right volume. I was sitting at the bar, which only seats about 5 people, but the dining room looks lovely and would be great for a date. Abdi, the owner was there, and he was a very gracious host. I’ll definitely be back!

although Tartufo opened only recently, we have become«regulars.» The food is suberb and the ambiance is perfect for«date night.» The owner, Abdi, assembled a staff of experienced, friendly and attentive staff, and they all work as a team to ensure your enjoyment and satisfaction. Last night, I tried the spinach salad, salmon, and lemon cheesecake. I loved the dates with Gorgonzola on the salad. Nice touch! Can’t wait till the next meal at Tartufo!!!

We went here the night they opened, 9⁄22 and had a lovely meal. The owner used to work at one of our favorite restaurants. We both had pasta that night and both dishes were excellent. Last night 10⁄12 we returned. Even better. I had a chicken dish that was outstanding and my husband loved his veal. Ceaser salad one of the best I have had recently. The owner brought us a wonderful dessert. It was a sponge cake roll topped with chocolate gelato. So GOOD!
