Living in the cloisters can have its ups and downs, because the street and the college has some construction going on. My experience at the cloisters was very stable. The staff is very helpful and they seem to try to find solutions to keep you content. It is a very safe area and the neighbors are usually friendly(not supper friendly, don’t get crazy… Just friendly) They maintenance team works fairly fast. The areas are always kept clean and nice. The gym is sufficient enough to carry a whole body workout. I like the cloisters and my two years living in the area was very safe and contently. Contact Vanessa she brings a very good consumer service. Very time I have a maintenance request and told her, it was resolve within fair amount of time.

I’ve lived in the Cloisters for almost 2 years now and it’s been nothing but a positive experience. The apartments are affordable for DC, have really great amenities(heat, AC, w/d in unit), allow pets, parking is easy, and the rooms are spacious. I’ve never had a big issue with pests here. Any time I even spot a spider, the leasing office sends out the exterminator ASAP. It literally doesn’t get better than this in DC for the price point.

DONOT. I repeat DONOTLIVEHERE! I’ve lived here for less than 2 months and it is literally the apartment from hell! From first glance, it seems nice: the model layout, the semi-convenient location. But after I moved in, I noticed the constant pest problem and even worse, crime rate. If the price/deal seems too good to be true it’s because it is.

AWFUL! The people in the leasing office might as well be rocks because that’s how helpful they are. Nobody in there seems to know how the apartments work; if you ask 2 people the same question you will get 2 completely different answers. This was my first time in an apt and you think with them having university affiliated housing they would be helpful to college students who have never lived on their own before but WRONG. The apartments are pretty gross and dark since there are no over head lights(convenient). I have seen multiple mice. The maintenance people will not tell you when they are coming they will simply walk into your apartment it doesn’t matter that there are 3 young girls who are scared to death of the area. The cloisters are a bunch of thieves! They are now charging 300 dollars to apply to live here you couldn’t pay me 300 dollars to want to live here again DON’T DOIT! I have only come across one helpful person in that office everyone else treats you as an inconvenience even though our business keeps them employed. If I had some where else to live I would break the lease and move out now!

I’m here as part of university housing through Catholic University so fortunately, I only have to deal with this another month instead of a full lease term. When I first moved in my shower would NOT stay hot for longer than about 10 minutes or so, and that was with constant adjusting and in January. Look, I’m a girl, it takes a little longer for me to take a shower. The maintenance guy was there for something else a couple days later, so I told him about it, he claimed to have informed his boss but since it wasn’t considered an emergency, it would take a while for them to do anything. 3WEEKS later, I had to go to the leasing office anyway because the security door wouldn’t open and I complained again about the shower. Was told by management that it WAS considered an emergency and that he’d have someone in by 3pm. No one shows till after 5pm and another phone call. Get told they’d be there a little after 10am to replace the water heater, show up after 2pm. Get told it’ll take 2 hours max, almost 4 hours later they finish. Shower STILL doesn’t stay hot for very long, now I can get about 20 minutes which is fine unless I need to wash my hair an shave. Also, if my roommate uses the water at all it instantly goes ice cold. I’ve given up on getting it fixed properly. The people upstairs are obscenely noisy, and I’ve complained multiple times, management claims they’re ‘taking care of it’ but since once again, the apartment is vibrating, I don’t think they are. They also like to start at 7am with this crap. I’m a grad student, I need some where I can study in peace and for what I’m paying, this is ridiculous. Although the unit looks decent, you can tell it’s cheaply put together, the outlet in my bathroom is very oddly placed, has the bottom 3rd cut off and pulls away from the wall every time I try and unplug something. The washer and dryer are of low quality and my clothes get covered in lint in the dryer since the screen doesn’t fit correctly. I can not WAIT to move out and find somewhere better. Also, right now as I’m looking at the map, the location indicator is wrong. This complex is on the other side of Catholic, across the street from Trinity University.
