Amazing place, I absolutely love it. For a dive-ish bar the drink selection is pretty good but the food is WONDERFUL! I really loved their grilled cheese especially(with a notable mention of their pretzels as well). The owner, Matt, is also very friendly and a great guy to chat to. I’ve been there many times and have loved it. The environment is great, but just be aware that they do not have tv’s… it ads to the atmosphere but at times it sucks to not be able to watch a game. That being said, if you don’t care about watching a game it is a hands down wonderful bar to go to.

This is a very great local bar. We only decided to go out for a few drinks that night, so venturing to the obscure yet amazingly beautiful Dew Drop Inn was perfect. Getting there is a little interesting, then arriving and figuring gout where the front entrance is is another adventure. The place as a great patio outside for the warmer winter nights. There are typical DC dive prices, $ 6 brews… a bout 8 on tap. there’s also random shot specials everywhere. anything that involves mystery or weird names always gets me. we got $ 4 shots in the dark. u don’t know what’s in the bottle and it’s always changing. On Saturday it was whiskey, and a good kind too! there’s a live band so the place gets kinda loud when they are playing. This bar has a great vib, super spacious, affordable and so much charm. So glad it was recommended by a friend.

I have to agree with other Unilocalers on this– I hesitate to sing its praises because I fear it will become overrun, but it definitely deserves the praise. Dew Drop Inn retains some of the warehousey vibe of Chocolate City Brewery, the former occupant, and is a perfect place to hole up in a dark, warm space with a good beer and good friend. The food menu could be more elaborate, but A for ambience. Their beer and liquor selection is great, and the DJ on weekend nights is perfect. I haven’t seen it crowded yet and the outdoor patio is surely one of DC’s best. I look forward to the day they fix up the ground floor as well, but until then it will retain its place as a good bar for locals that like good bars.

Love this neighborhood bar! Food, drinks, vibe are all fantastic. Love the burrito, but make sure you’re hungry if you order it.

Fantastic little hole in the wall neighborhood bar. I went on a Saturday night after midnight. Not packed but a good crowd. Running a bit towards the Catholic U crowd but some other ages as well. DJ was spinning tunes so a variety of music. Not sure what they have at other times, numerous other reviewers have noted the broken juke box. Not sure if this is still the case, will check it out next time. Cheap drinks! I had a Bold Rock draft cider that was $ 6.00. I then ordered a Green Hat and club soda. Not only do they have Green Hat gin(go local!!), but it was only $ 7.00. This is almost unheard of in DC. Building is located next to the Metro and railroad tracks so you can sit outside on the patio and watch trains go by along with your people watching. Glad this place gas opened up in my neighborhood. I’m inspired to try their original bar The Wonderland Ballroom sonce I liked this place. Give it a try!

Dew Drop is a really chill bar and off the beaten path. There really isn’t much around, but that’s okay it makes it more exciting when you find it! They have an awesome dog-friendly deck with picnic tables. The interior of the bar looks like a cleaner than typical dive bar with some interesting wall fixtures. Their prices are reasonable and they have a decent selection of food.

Should I be Unilocaling about this place? This is a perfect example of an establishment I debated Unilocaling about. Dew Drop Inn is AWESOME and has a vibe you very rarely find in DC. Extremely well priced drinks, a unique space, and a perfect location to make it feel hidden and local. They deserve every word I type of this positive review. My fear is that this establishment owned by the same people as Wonderland Ballroom(also stellar) will become that — a great bar that gets packed due to good reputation and service. As of now, on a Friday night, there is no trouble getting a table inside or outside to sit with your friends and enjoy drinks. Will it always be that way? Hopefully, though a place of this caliber is surely going to blow up. Hopefully this Unilocal review does more good than harm, especially for those adventurous on the Metropolitan Branch Bike Trail and looking for something truly off the beaten path.

Welcome to Wonderland East? I get it that the owner obviously likes quirky little dives but this place is a joke. I waited a few weeks after it opened to check the place out but I don’t think the time helped. The operation seems pretty simple and with not a lot of thought. You walk inside and should understand what I mean, not many moving parts. I saw they had La Fin Du Monde on draft and got excited, until I had it. This is not a place where you want to experiment with draft beer. It was a Friday night so there was a DJ pumpin the jams to all 13 of us in this tiny space. We stayed for a while and It was a little later in the evening but the«kitchen» was apparently still open. Sorry guys, just because you have 2 versions of a BLT and Italian by the inch(WTF?) does not mean that you have a kitchen. Look, your patio is nice and I like watching trains. I get that I may not be hip enough to enjoy your vibe too. The straw that broke the camels back was how goddamn sketchy the place was when it was time for me to leave! Under a bridge on the sketchiest bike trail in town without even a light? No thanks.

The wifey and I live in Brookland and are happy to see the many new establishments up here in the country. We are REALLY pleased about the Dew Drop Inn because it is just great. Wonderful staff(Jamie’s cool and come back, Keith). Funky, cool ambience. Nice selection of beers. Good food(including a 2 inch sub). And bathrooms that are as clean as a whistle. And(thank God) NOTV!!! I understand live music is on the way so come by and enjoy the show. You won’t be disappointed.

Finally a great bar that is super easy to get to from Eckington. I was super excited when I heard they were opening a bar in this little building right on the Met Branch Trail and after visiting several times, I can say that this place does not disappoint. Great beer selection and great prices(for D.C. anyway) with happy hour 7 days a week, which is key. The atmosphere is super chill and it’s a big enough space that it never feels so crowded that you can’t enjoy yourself. Jamie(and all of the staff) are attentive without being obnoxious and make you feel like you’re a regular after just one visit.

Our opinion may be slightly biased because we are locals, but this is a wonderful neighborhood bar to grab a cold beverage and a bar snack. Service was great, Keith made sure our glasses were never empty. Easily accessed while riding or walking the Metro Branch Trail.

When you arrive at Dewdrop, make sure your expectations are in check. This is an awesome neighborhood bar to drop into with the convenience of the Met Branch trail along side. It’s also yet one more interesting thing to do in Brookland. There are plenty of beers to choose from with all the local favorites. Annoyingly, there is a jukebox that is broken. We ordered a couple of the plates which consist of cheese salami and pretzels heated up nicely. We did not try any of the big entrées so can’t judge them. Service was very pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere of this place is a lot of fun love the outdoors is basically just picnic tables with a view of the street.

As you might expect from the folks behind Wonderland and Looking Glass, this is an awesome, friendly, chill neighborhood-y bar. It’s in an interesting location near railroad tracks, in a cool old building. Apparently the area is called Edgewood — I’d never been there before. They have lots of good beer on tap, friendly staff, tasty grub and a nice, big patio. Definitely worth a stop if you’re around.

Great bar! Great happy hour! Great location right off the Met Branch Trail! Great patio! Not great prices on their snacks(seemed a little overpriced for what you get), but on the whole, GREAT! Espeically love that although they have the dive bar atmosphere they have a pretty good wine selection, including a tasty dry rose.

Great little out of the way neighborhood bar in the Brookland area, just a 10 minute walk from the Brookland/Catholic U metro stop. I’ve always wanted to see the upstairs of this funky building when we had access downstairs to Chocolate City Brewery before it went belly-up. Nicely done inside. Good vibe with the waitstaff. Kitchen offers bar food, but we weren’t here for that. Good happy hour specials here at the DDI every night. Tonight DJ was spinning tunes and mixing. Right off the Metropolitan Branch bike trail(yes, there is plenty o’ bike parking) so I’ll always have the opportunity to pop in for a pint on my bike commute home. Stop in, hit the deck outside, and enjoy the trains.

Very cool building, laid back atmosphere, great bartenders. It is similar to Wonderland in a lot of ways(same owners) but has it own unique vibe. Looking forward to dropping in here often!

Decent craft beer selection and cool décor, but don’t expect too much in the way of service here. We sat inside and once we got someone to take our order – tried to flag someone down at the bar to no avail – grabbed a couple of sandwiches(also pretty decent) to eat with our beers, but it took a good 5 minutes to get someones attention(both at the bar and then when I gave up and went back to our table). When we got our bill, I couldn’t help but think that this place is a classic example of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing – happy hour prices were advertised for the entire night but we were charged full price on our drinks. Not a huge deal but it left a bad taste in our mouths and we won’t be back, sadly. I hope they work out the kinks because this could really be a cool place.
