THEONEANDONLYALLSFBARINDC! If you’re asking what«SF» is, then you’re clearly part of the census rating Town Tavern 3 stars or below. But perhaps it’s the hype of my beloved Splash Brothers making the vibe of this place so great, or how the Giants are going to take it to the World Series again(bring it home every 2!!!) Regardless of the season, Town Tavern is an all time feel-good, humble bar. Environment/Service: The crew and I(most of which were not from the bay) came to Town Tavern for Game 3 of the NBA Championships. The place was only 60% full at the end of the first quarter, and only filled to about 80% by the end of the game. The bouncers were hella friendly and the bartenders took good care of you. Drinks: Don’t try to get fancy here and order a Boulevardier. They serve pitchers of beer in medium size jugs for a fairly low cost. Kudos to the Bud Light representative for passing out complimentary bottles of BL and cozies to everyone at the bar :) Food: Finger lickin’ good. The waffle fries are perfectly crispy and not too heavy. Order yourself a heart attack tater tot tray(my definition of heart attack: stack your tots w/chilli, cheese, sour cream, guac, bbq sauce and onions)

Me and some friends went to this bar yesterday. The alcohol they use for rail drinks for happy hour is cheap AF. And the bartender spiked them so it got me drunk. However, the service was pleasant and it was a diverse atmosphere. However, this bar has the best Old Bay wings I have ever tasted. My mouth is salivating thinking about how delicious those wings were. Not sure if I would go back for Happy Hour, but I would definitely come back for the wings.

Unassuming look bar from the outside, but pretty cool on the inside. Definitely a dive bar if I’ve ever seen one! The employees were all friendly, it was dark and loud, string lights from wall to wall, and rowdy hockey fans… Definitely my kind of scene! Once the hockey game was over and everybody was depressed, the music started. It’s loud, and it’s more often than not going to be rap. So if that’s not your scene, maybe skip Town Tavern and head to the next bar. We only ordered Bud Light so I can’t say much for the food and cocktails.

This place is rude and gross. My friends and I went there for a bday celebration and got kicked out by the«manager» who clearly didn’t go to school for customer service or people management. We were in the bottom floor VIP area having a great time when one of the workers, who I guess was off because he was drinking like an idiot, caught an attitude with my friend because we were dancing in their area. The manager without hearing our side of the story and clearly didn’t give a shit asked us to leave and made the bouncers try and kick us out while we were gathering our stuff and finishing our drinks. Just the rudest. I’m sorry I’m going to finish my full alcoholic beverage before I leave since I am a paying customer and I paid for that drink. The bouncer was less than pleased when I said that and seemed like he wanted to physically remove me because he didn’t like waiting the extra 3 mins. I wouldn’t be surprised if he put his hands on woman frankly, well because this bar is just that kind of place. Cheap, rude, dirty, low class and below average on every aspect.

This is a fun place. Decent prices and they often have specials. It’s a good place to have events as well — big or small. The management is easy to work with.

as a fan of sf sports, this is ground central for all things san francisco or bay area. when non-bay area things are happening, they are willing to put them on the tvs. though if it’s something big, get here early as seating goes quick. the food is good for bar food. i highly recommend the sliders. for the single scene, sports and beer. if you’re into those things than you’ll get along with 90% of the patrons… the remaining are dragged along by friends that don’t know what’s going on an occupying valuable space. the crowd makes you feel at home as if you were at kezar pub or shanghi kellys. normal people without the right wing aggressiveness.

As a transplant from San Francisco, I’m so grateful this place exists to bring me a piece of home — the Giants, 49ers, and Warriors. There is an upstairs and main bar, fairly spacious but also a typical bar atmosphere. Lots of TVs for your viewing pleasure and several beers on tap. I was not necessarily wowed by the service or selection but I am a repeat visitors to watch my teams.

One of the best bars in Adams Morgan! Best bartender is Dez! The bar is located in the middle of the block down heaven and hell. The crowd is mix and it’s a lot of yelling. It’s also a San Francisco bars during football seasons. Great food also!

Dear Town Tavern, Thank you for helping this lost homesick Filipino Bay Area Kid transition into this amazing city called DC. From the Bay Area to DC, I didn’t know if I could wear any of my SF team gear or cheer in my own home, but after I found you, everything changed. Without you, I don’t know where else I would watch Warriors, 49ers, and Giants games, without you, I don’t know where I could get such good prices on happy hour drinks and bar bites, open bar on Saturdays from 8 – 10, and meet up with an awesome crowd of loving Bay Area fans and friends, without you, I just don’t know what I would do to celebrate a great year for Bay Area teams. Thank you Town Tavern for creating this perfect space for me to be myself and be a fan that doesn’t need to hide, but can celebrate in PRIDE. THANKYOU!!!

If you don’t got a bae, at least you can get a BAB(Bay Area Bar)! DC is such a transient place and it’s nice to have a bar where all the guests share the same interests as you, specifically meaning: the Giants, the 49ers, and the Warriors. Throw in some«Don’t Stop Believing» by Journey and it pretty much feels like HOME. Aside from the Bay Area lovin’ this bar gets, it’s nice inside although shot$ can be a bit pricey. Town Tavern, thanks for being the spot to be at when the Warriors won the NBA Championship this past week :) #WeBelieve!

Town tavern is unfortunately pretty hit or miss. They have some really great drink specials(beat the clock and saturday 8 – 10 open bar) and poor a heavy drink which is nice, but other than that there are better places to go especially late at night. A really young crowd — like potentially fake ID young — makes things a little rowdy. Later in the evening the music is super loud and hard to hearing — which is great for a dance club, but sadly this is not that. The staff are also hit or miss. When I have gone there earlier for happy hour specials they are pretty friendly and on it with the service but when I have gone later in the evenings(and by later I mean like 8pm not 11pm when I know things get crazy and no one has time to be polite because there are just too many people) that friendliness seems to vanish. I once went with a friend and the bartender complained to a barback right in front of my friend that my friend looked like the kinda guy that didn’t tip — he said this as my friend was pulling out cash to tip the guy! Rude, Also on my most recent visit my sister and I were having a beer and decided to order a round of tequila shots(we were celebrating her being done with school). As the night wore on and we had a few more beers, the bartender kept giving us shots that we had NOT ordered. At first this seemed great — free shots! — but then when we got the bill he had charged us for ALL of them! Super unprofessional. If you are looking for a cheap place to get trashed, Town Tavern is your place. Otherwise I would look elsewhere.

Bar service is not the friendliest. The bartender didn’t want to give my girlfriend a chaser for the shot I had bought her. He pointed to the cocktail she was nursing and dismissively said«just drink that» and proceeded to walk away from us. Mind you, it was my friend’s birthday and she had coordinated with the staff to have her party there. Her pink wristband got her free drinks, but we were actually purchasing drinks for her. The bar was making money and we still received unfriendly service throughout the night. At LEAST be nice to the birthday girl! But anyways, to add some substance to this review… the gummy bear shots were pretty good($ 8). Black label($ 10). Bathrooms were clean. But don’t expect friendly bar service.

It’s yooouuurrr San Francisco Giants bar in DC; your home away from home. Also reps the 49ers so come here to see all your games. It’s a great amount of divey with good energy for the games but I wish it was a little bigger. There are also specials on food and drink if you rock your SF Giants gear during a game. Usually on the east coast if you talk about the Giants people think you mean the NY Giants. Not here tho, strictly World Series Champs and Niners. It’s tough with the time difference to watch weekday night games at 10pm but when there’s a day game it can happen during happy hour. Good group of Giants fans here. On Unilocal 4 stars means«Yay! I’m a fan.» and that’s what I am for the SF Giants and this bar!

Although this place defines divey, they staff is great and are even open to letting you host private events upstairs! They gave my group the entire upstairs with 4 bartenders and only asked for a deposit of $ 200. After the event, where we didn’t even meet the minimum number of people, they didn’t even charge me a deposit. They even told me I could host another event there if I wanted! So it’s a typical dive bar, but a great place for a large group and any event you can think of hosting.

HORRIBLESERVICE. Me and my friend came here last night. Went to the bar upstairs. He ordered a pint of beer and 5 minutes later I ordered a beer as well. We both ordered pints and we got 2 completely different glasses. My friend received a 16oz pint glass and I got a 12 oz plastic cup and we were charged the same amount. On top of that my friend ordered us 2 shots of Jameson. The female bartender grabbed the bottle of Jameson and lined several shot glasses. We were kind of confused as to why because we only ordered 2. She poured the remaining Jameson in a few shot glasses and left to get more at the other bar. She poured the remaining Jameson in the second bottle into the other shot glasses. She called over to her friends and other bartenders and they all took shots of the Jameson WEORDERED. My friend has to remind her about the shots and she said«we ran out of Jameson, would jack Daniels instead?» We were livid. We clearly saw them drink OUR shots and kill the rest. My friend ended up complaining to another bartender and he gave us 2 free shots of tequila which ended up to be completely watered down. DONTCOMETOTHISPLACE.

Terrible time last night! Friend had won a happy hour but didn’t claim it in time to be redeemed that night, but we ended up staying for the $ 10 all you can drink deal from 10 – 11. One member of our group asked the hostess if wine was included and received an emphatic«of course!» in response. Sure enough, get to the bar, immediately we are told that wine is, in fact, not included. Bartenders were extremely rude. Our first round of drinks went very smoothly but as we did not tip after the first, service went way downhill. Of course not being tipped is infuriating, but my plan was to tip at the end because we were strolling up to the bar quite a few times during the hour(unlimited drinks) and pulling out my wallet every time seemed silly and unnecessary. When we came back for round two, we were promptly ignored and two clearly regular customers were given a huge glass when ordering a regular drink and it was topped up with alcohol every sip for about 2 minutes. Again, nothing wrong with that, just no need to ignore 6 people. When we were finally acknowledged, the bartender looked at us and said, «That’s for the good tippers, don’t forget about that.» Our drinks were poured extraordinarily weak after that, and one of our friends was rewarding with prompt service and a sufficiently strong drink with a dollar in her hand. When my last drink had possibly ¼ of a shot in it or so, I let the bartender know that I was planning on buying one more drink at the end of the night after the bottomless hour was up and tipping for the whole night, but I no longer felt they or the bar deserved the extra money. I had no cash as the hostess from the beginning of the night begged us to use the ATM to get exact change because she didn’t feel like going to get the cash box. On the way out, we politely told the hostess that just fyi, the bartenders don’t do wine for the unlimited hour, and she simply looked at us and maintained she didn’t say that — when we specifically asked because that was the determining factor of deciding to stay. All in all, rude staff and a waste of $ 10. Certainly won’t be returning.

Yuck. I went here to meet friends on a Saturday night and quickly departed after staying for less than an hour. The interior reminded me of a dirty run-down wooden cabin that you would find in a horror movie. The floor was wet in certain spots where people continuously spilled their drinks. The dance floor wasn’t really a dance floor — more like people just standing around fist pumping off-beat and awkwardly swaying side to side. The crowd exuded a sweaty, greasy, and unkempt appearance, which gave me the he-bee-jee-bees. I felt sticky and moist after leaving. Ewww, time for a major shower.

I went here on a Sunday night to watch the 49er game. This venue is a place where the 49ers in DC come together to support their team. You will see some true die-hard fans having real time conversations with the coaches and the tv in front of them(lol). The 49er section is upstairs and the TVs surround the whole room. It is a fun environment especially if you are a 49er fan. My only qualm about this place is it was incredibly loud. I mean LOUD!!! They have the game blaring from speakers you use to play music at a club. And everyone is yelling which is what fans do I get it. I just couldn’t hear anything. It was so much I had to pull out my earphones to muffle my ears which barely helped. The true die-hard fans didn’t mind though. I had fun hanging out and my ears have recovered since. I’m told the food isn’t that great except for the chicken wings. I didn’t take a chance and stepped out somewhere else to grab a bite to eat.
