The Washington Harbour

Just a stone’s throw from Georgetown, this is the perfect spot to culminate a self-​guided walking tour of the Georgetown area! There were beautiful fountains leading up to the actual water front and tons of places to either grab a drink or a meal by the water. The architecture is a sight to see in and of itself. Also, the Swedish Embassy is located here. If it’s open, which it was this past Saturday, I’d highly recommend taking a peak inside! They had a nice art exhibit in the embassy on this last visit. Also, on the River, the dragon boat races were going on this past weekend and the National harbour is the perfect spot to take these in. This is a great stop for a photo op, to bring your dog for a walk, or just sit by the water and read a book! The fountains are quite romantic and are lit up at night so my bf and I will certainly return after dusk so we can see the fountain lit up at night!

Not kid friendly! Our first stop was the Starbucks. My wife ran inside to get a coffee while I waited outside with our two boys. Three different security guards hassled us within a five minute period. It was very clear that they do not want children in the development. If you have kids, I would definitely steer clear of Washington Harbour.

I agree with most reviews describing this place as beautiful with great views. The architecture is nice and fun to check out. Having said that, there are some nice restaurants here. That’s about it. Not really a shopping destination.

Such a romantic location or cool place to take your friends if they visit. You get a clear view of the Kennedy Center, have option after option of eating outdoors and decent restaurants. I chose to hit the yogurt shop up a above the look-​over. I’m down for anything near water long as I’m not thrown in. LOL
Check it out if you’re in that area. You can walk up the hill to Georgetown too. So much to see and do that’s close by.

I just love Washington Harbour.
Since moving from Chicago, the harbour is becoming one my favorites places.
Beside being on the water, the harbour is a black away from Georgetown which I also enjoy.
