The Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC) is a beautiful venue that contains a 365-​seat auditorium, many practice and performance spaces, classrooms, a gym, and much more. I attended a performance of the Washington Ballet at THEARC this past weekend, and I was blown away by the spacious auditorium, the sound system, lighting equipment, and the facilities in general.
THEARC also provides dance classes, music instruction, academic tutoring, parent training, medical appointments, and so much more to underserved populations at free or reduced costs, turning an incredible facility into a wonderful community resource and effective multi-​use space.
THEARC is a bit off the beaten path, but is easily accessible by public transportation (10 – 15 minutes from the Southern Avenue Metro station on the Green line), and ample free parking is available. I look forward to attending future performances here!
