That was a very hungry morning for me & i was stuck in this area, so i was looking for a place to eat at 9.00am. That was the only place i found open & it was breakfast place as well, so it fitted my needs well. Food was good, prices a pretty reasonable(i payed 15 $ for avocado wrap, egg omelette with stuffing & bottle of juice) pretty good deal to me. So now that i finished just half of my breakfast i can write my review about this place. I definitely be back here.

Great prices, good food, small location, quick bite. We got the avocado wrap and the chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles were tasty and we relatively enjoyed it. However, there was nothing special. Ordinary fried chicken and an ordinary waffle. A little disappointing that it wasn’t more noteworthy. The avocado wrap was also tasty, but I could have made the same thing at home. I was hoping for something a bit more unique. Overall, for the prices they do a pretty good job, great place to stop quickly and get a yummy breakfast.

Tony is an interesting place. They serve breakfast all day and seems to be a H. St. Secret and popular among the neighbors. Prices are very fair for what is offered. Your not going to get any gourmet food. Just simple food for a cheap price. Ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fine… nothing spectacular. The waffle tasted like a waffle you get at a motel… they also give you the syrups you’d use for a waffle at a motel. This dish definetly needs some work. The avocado wrap… was simple bacon, cheese and egg wrap. Nothing special their either. Very simple wrap for $ 5… and seems a little expensive because of the lack of food in the wrap for that price. Overall… probably a great place to get a late night bite of breakfast anytime of the day. Not worth a drive for breakfast.

Tonys is one of my favorite spots to grab breakfast at on my days off or on the weekends. The pancake platter is delicious(think I get the Fat Boy) and the chicken wings are great! It’s a small spot, definitely far from a hole in the wall, but certainly a neighborhood jewel. The Staff is always nice and the place always appears to be clean. Parking can be a little problematic but if you’re in a rush or don’t feel like waiting just call your order in a ahead of time. Super convenient.

I’m a regular at Tony’s. The food is always good, hot and served fast. I usually get the fat boy breakfast. An order of pancakes, eggs, turkey bacon and sausage and home fries for only 7 bucks! Call ahead because the restaurant is always crowded. But don’t let the line deter you if you decide to pop in! The food is totally worth it.

Ok! We stopped after and there is no parking very crowded parked in gas station near by. Dont get confused with Tonys place across the street. After, calling ahead still had a lil wait was a lil disorganized. But, we got the chicken waffles. And The DMV, which consists of omelette homefries or grits and toast. Ham, Bacon, mushrooms, onions, spinach and tomatoes. All for about $ 15!!! The chicken and waffles was amazing! The waffles are sweet and buttery thick. U can taste a lil Cinnamon goes great with maple syrup they have and the chicken comes with Mambo Sauce The BEST! Even put on our waffles. The omelette was OK. Wasn’t alot of spinach we was able to change meats to turkey bacon and sausage wo a upcharge. But homefries, were on POINT! Better than Expensive IHOP and Good and CHEAP will be back for more and other meals. CALLAHEAD! PARKINGISLIMITED

Pretty decent enough grub-out spot for any time of the day —(breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night) on the tail end of H street — you know where it starts getting a little scary but in solid company of the Argonaut, Pursuit Wine Bar, etc. Depending on what time of day you come to Tony’s the crowd can vary. There is the more alert and sober brunch and breakfast crew and then the raucous late-night crew coming out of the H Street Country Club, that Beirgarten Haus, and that Shamrock joint. I am sure I have been both of these crews. And hats off to the staff for putting up with the later. First of all, the aroma coming out of Tony’s is intoxicating at any time of the day. And much of it is thanks to their fried chicken and chicken wings — you know they serve the kind with the whole wing with all the parts attached — among my favorite ways wings are done. You can get them simply fried or with wing sauce — very tasty. The chicken and waffles are also — nice. they are basically the aforementioned wings with a side of waffles without the nonsensical price of other places who charge astronomical prices for what appears to be an easy dish to produce. Basically every other dish coming out of the kitchen looks excellent — especially the breakfast sandwiches. This is a great place to grab a bite to go right before work and definitely an ideal meal for late night bar crawls. Any time of the day Tony’s is a solid choice.

Well worth the drive! Food was good and flavorful! Only downside is no dining area. I ate in my car but it didn’t take anything away from food.

When you first walk in you may be intimidated by the small size of the place and the long line, but don’t worry, 99% of people order to go and the service is pretty fast. I came here on a cold morning and ordered the Big Boy Breakfast box which has sausage, two eggs, bacon, pancakes, and some really delicious homefries. The best part about this was that the food was delicious, I paid under $ 10, and I was completely stuffed till dinner time. I’m definitely coming back to this place, next time I’m either trying the chicken and waffles or I’ll come in the evening and try their steak sandwiches.

Local business on H Street NE/Trinidad. No frills. Good food and good service. We got the chicken and waffles and some potato wedges. Both items were good but they need to be eaten immediately or taken out of the package otherwise the foods steams and it becomes unappetizing. They are a local AAPI owned business that has become an institution in the area.

usually have a hard time going to places and finding breakfast sandwich options that are not pork. They had a great selection of turkey sausages, other meats, and salmon cakes. I got the smoked sausage! It was pretty tasty!

The place is pretty small, with enough room to seat probably 4 – 5 people only. We were eager to try their avocado wrap and chicken and waffles. We also got a club sandwich to share. The avocado wrap was legit. It had a flour tortilla, eggs, bacon, and a decent amount of avocado. There did not have much spice in the wrap except for salt and pepper, but overall I liked it. The chicken and waffle was disappointing. The chicken was not crispy. Seemed like it had sat there for hours and the oils started draining out. The waffle was soggy even before we put on the maple syrup. It was not good at all. The club sandwich was good, but kind of like any other club sandwich I’ve had else where. The bacon was a little overcooked so it was kind of hard. Their prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food they serve.

You know how there’s always that one place in the neighborhood that only locals know about: the slightly shady looking place that you could never imagine having great food because it has the most generic name in the world like«Tony’s Breakfast.» But Tony’s Breakfast is a thing of beauty. Basically it is a locally owned diner(without all the seating) with super cheap prices and tons of food. I would definitely say for those soul food lovers, grab the Welcome to H Street, which is Chicken and Waffles. Craziest part is that its like $ 7 for a ton of food. Their fish nuggets are actually awesome. I personally like the whiting because it was crispier, but the tilapia is much meatier. If you are going to get some fries on the side, I would get the potato wedges because they’re homemade. Definitely try out their subs and sandwiches as well. I got a philly cheesesteak and was pretty impressed by how authentic it tasted.

Why would the food be so good here?!? I came in last night on the way home from a get together. I had been checking this place out for a while and figured last night was the time to try Tony’s. I was torn between getting the grilled chicken sandwich or the wings. at first glance, my eyes shot right over to the glass case filled with wings and potato wedges. I figured that was going to be my choice. The aroma from the food on the way home was brutal… in a good way. The wings were perfectly seasoned. Not too salty and not too bland. And oh the potato wedges. Perfect.

Decided to stop by after seeing the good reviews. I originally wanted to go there for the breakfast which I assumed they were known for but since if was late I decided to go for Dinner. I ordered the salmon cakes, rice and gravy, green beans and Mac and cheese. Everything tasted good but nothing special about it. Portion size was good but I typically have a huge appetite so I wasn’t completely satisfied. I plan to stop by again for their breakfast items and see how that goes. They also serve different cake varieties and the restaurant isn’t that big so it isn’t really ideal of a place to dine in except maybe if you’re alone but overall a pretty decent place to go.

Tony’s is a pretty big deal to H Street locals. I’ll try to provide something objective, and raise the one concern that has turned off guests that I have brought in. Full disclosure… I eat here often. The food is good, and is predictable/consistent. You will not be disappointed in the food quality. It’s important to emphasize that the cuisine is not Boundary Road or Granville Moore. It’s comfort food(eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon) with less grease, coming from an immaculately clean kitchen. Prices are fair for what you get, and is a great«everyday» breakfast spot. The staff is also amazing… the amount of food that they put out hourly is impressive. Everyone is hustling, and not many orders get messed up. One thing to be aware of is that due to the location, you will be undoubtedly be approached by people asking for money as you walk in… seemingly more so than other areas of H Street. The same people are often trying to sell food that customers have purchased for them. I mention it here only because I’ve had guests who have been turned off by it. It’s not something that prevents me from going.

Busy and the best breakfast bacon avocado wrap I’ve ever had !! Line was a bit unorganized but they’re making it work with the small decorative place on the corner of H St Né :)

Stop everything and go grab something from Tony’s! Not the Tonys on the corner, that isn’t it. That’s just some BS competitor trying to steal the original Tonys success. I’m talking TONYSBREAKFAST by the Shell Gas Station, with a bus stop in front of it. That one. Of course, I grabbed the chicken and waffle and it truly is the best I’ve ever had(Drake voice). The chicken(3) was crispy and well seasoned, and the waffle(as big as the foam carrier) was soft, buttery,(I think a bit of nutmeg but don’t take my word for it if you have nut allergies) and filling. So filling, I ditched the eggs I ordered. DONOTORDEREXTRAS, you WILLBEFULL! Lol. I’m an eater, and the chicken and waffles were just enough to put me into a food coma.

Yummmm fried chicken! 4.5! I was looking for a good brunch place, but ended up finding this place online and I’m glad I did because it had a really delicious menu. I got the chicken and waffles and a side order of wedge fries fried a little harder. The chicken and waffle was exactly want I wanted. The chicken was crispy and the order came with three wings on top of a waffle. The waffle could have been better, but the crispy perfectly seasoned chicken made up for it. I just drizzled some syrup on my chicken and waffles and it was perfection! I also ordered a side of wedge fries. I asked them to fry the wedge fries a little bit harder for me. If you get your fries a little bit harder, then they are crispier and hot. They were delicious. The interior of the place was very cute. It felt super urban and workers were friendly. Love this place, and prices are great too!
