READ your policy VERY carefully. Thanks to Obamacare, my insurance premiums and deductible have tripled this year, and this is the cheapest insurance I can find that’s been reliable for me in the past. BEWARE, an eye exam is NOT covered, unless the ophthalmologist is part of Carefirst’s «Vision Care.» I was just billed $ 100 for a routine eye exam, AFTER the doctor’s office assured me they took my exact plan (so, per Obamacare, the exam should have been free)…but no… Dr. A Wali Ziayee, of VA hospital center is NOT part of Carefirst’s Vision Care (aka routine eye exams) group, he’s just a specialty provider, so I’m out $ 100. UG.

No stars is more like it. I’m in the business of teaching companies and individuals about customer service. I have never, and I mean never, been treated so unprofessionally and with such disregard. Completely misinformed employees and paralyzed supervisors. I am a loss for words to describe the horrid experience. I invite and dare anyone from executive management to reach out to me regarding my experience. You will pick up this negative review up immediately. What will you do about it?

My husband’s firm only offers carefirst. We have multiple medical issuse. First of all, none of my longtime doctors participate with carefirst. Most of my physicians did participate at one point but all 8 of my current doctors dropped carefirst ages ago because carefirst is a disaster and a headache.
Because my doctors do not participate, I have the task of submitting my own claims and waiting for reimbursement from Carefirst. I am very meticulous and organized with the claims because there are so many to keep track of. Unfortunately, my experience over the last 4 years is that Carefirst will «never receive» the first submission. If I submit calms for October dates on November 1, I will follow up on the receipt of those clams around November 15. Surprise… they weren’t received! Round two of claim submission (lot of fun in my non existent free time). After two additional weeks, I’ll call or check online to see if my claims have been received.
Yes received at the second attempt but after an additional two weeks, the claim is sitting there at carefirst, not being processed. A month later, I get my explanation of benefits which tells me what was paid or not paid and why. Surprise, again… the claim is processed incorrectly in their favor.
This happens with each of my claims EVERY month. It is not fun having medical issues. It is even less fun playing this run aroud game with carefirst every single month. To get one of my many claims received, processed and paid correctly ususally takes 5 calls and 10 visitis to the carefirst website.
All I want is the turn around time promised and for my claims to be processed ACCORDING TO MY POLICY.
