TrueMajority.org / USAction

So I really appreciate the idea behind True Majority (
): raising awareness about the ridiculousness of the size of the US military budget relative to other spending priorities. I also like the fact that many of the things True Majority sells do draw attention to the the bread and butter of their advocacy: their pie graph of the federal budget.
The flag pens I’ve bought from True Majority and especially the pie-​graph watch have really been attention-​grabbers; and I can’t even begin to tell you how many people, after I’ve explained my watch, have expressed frustration and/​or a willingness to educate themselves more about this issue. So all of that is cool.
But I’m pretty hard on political-​advocacy organizations, and True Majority doesn’t get a pass on any of my strictness with what I endorse and support. Some of the positions they’ve endorsed haven’t jibed completely with my pacifist politics, and I really hate the fact that these awesome watches are made in China. They already cost a lot; the least they could have done was make sure they’re responsibly sourced.
So a solid four-​star organization drops to three because of some small but important things.
