I have been a patient of Dr. Wilkerson’s for over 20 years and I can stand when I have to change insurance plans but so far I have been lucky! I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Wilkerson as a family physician but he is a definite go too! Sometimes there is a wait if you are a «walk in» patient but generally if you make an appointment its great. He splits his time between his DC and his Grasonville, MD office but the early 6:30 a.m. opening time is a great thing on the days he is in DC. I wouldn’t trade him for the word. And the only reason that I didn’t give him a 5 is while his manner with patients is great, I can’t say that for all of his staff, but you can’t have everything perfect!

I chose this office because it was two blocks from my house and I’d just moved to DC and didn’t know any better. I once went to see him without insurance, and it was 80 bucks. This doctor’s hours are very limited(I think 3 days a week) and I would usually just go to no-appointment sessions and wait. And wait. For about 3 hours. I realise that that’s my fault for choosing to go at those times though. The office is dingy and always full, but the reception staff and nurse are fine. Dr. Wilkerson’s manner was pleasant, and he was always happy to give me the prescriptions I asked for, but didn’t seem to read my medical records or listen to what I was saying very well. I went in with severe ear pain one day, he looked at it and said there was nothing wrong — the eardrum burst the next day(gross!). So I’m looking for another doctor.
