A wonderful place to dine. Food was delicious service was great. Someone told me that this is the oldest Italian restaurant in the area I can tell you that they are the best in the area. Not only was the food yummy but it was very filling as well.

This may be my favorite pizza place, definitely my favorite restaurant in Washington, MO. Great pizza, pasta and salads. I recommend the Super Salad. The complimentary rolls are fantastic. Full bar. Great staff.

Good authentic pizza and other Italian foods. The dinner rolls are still excellent! Busy at mealtimes and weekends. They seem to be crowding more people in and are losing some of their small, family, hometown service.

We got a pizza and it was so bad that we took it home and decided not to eat it after all. Service wasn’t great either. Not a great first impression but it was recommended to us so maybe we missed something.

Excellent service! I often get the super salad. The small is heaping! One of these days I’ll get around to trying the pasta.

Mostaciolli had amazing sauce. Scott loves the manicotti. And a coupon for his birthday! We usually order pizza but wanted something different. Glad we tried it.

This place is filthy. Shitty service and mediocre food. The waitress got our order wrong twice and promised a vegetarian there was no meat in the sauce. Well guess what huge chunks of meat in the sauce. The pizza was nothing spectacular. Pretty generic really. Red Baron makes a far better pizza at a way better price! I give the place one star because the ice water was cold! If I could give zero stars I would.

My first visit to Aldo’s was for a birthday party. The place was packed on a Saturday night. I had to park out back. It’s very clean and well-lit. I’m not sure when it was built, but it looked like a new-ish building. I only had thin crust pizza and it was pretty goo. I would definitely go back when I return to Washington.

We had eaten take-away pizza from Aldo’s many times before so we knew they had amazing pizza. Tonight we wanted to have a nice birthday dinner and there are absolutely no well reviewed restaurants open in Washington on Sunday. None. So when we read the menu we were amazed. We called ahead and ordered a pizza as an appetizer because we knew we’d have to have it and we ordered 2 different steaks, 2 different veals, a salmon and a pasta. It all came with lovely salads with homemade dressing(the Caesar was superb) warm rolls and pasta or fresh sautéed vegetables as sides. We had a great bottle of wine from Aldo’s home town in Italy and they brought us serve ware with a smile for the birthday cake we brought. Everything was wonderful. Delicious food and friendly service. This is a really top notch restaurant hiding in a pizza joint. Don’t miss it!

For starters we are regulars at this restaurant, we typically eat there at least once a week usually take away. I tried a new dish that I never had before and decided I don’t like very much I thought it was gross so I contacted the restaurant and stated that it was really oily, the girl answering the phone told the manager«tony» what I had said she gets back on the phone and says«he said that’s the way the dish is supposed to be» so I told her the bottom line is I don’t like it can I just get a refund for the dish she asked if I would bring the dish and they would refund. So I collect my kid(who I was getting ready for bed) drive to the restaurant and wait… And wait. And wait… The girl at the desk says your here for the refund right? Me: yes she goes to get the manager whom is standing just out of sight at the entrance to the kitchen and tells her something she returns«he’s really busy» apologized and asked me to wait. 20 minutes later the manager comes out of the kitchen looks at me and mumbles«you must have liked it there was nothing left»(for the record I DID take a few bites) I was upset I felt like this guy was accusing me of trying to be shady when all I wanted was a refund for the meal I didn’t like. so the next day I check my bank account and not only did he not refund the meal but charged me twice once for the original purchase and then a second charge for 19 $! It’s interesting that the hostess is more polite and professional than the management.

I came here for the first time with a friend who highly recommended it. We ordered two appetizers, the spinach artichoke dip with pita and the parmesan chicken. The pita bread was delicious and melts in your mouth. The parmesan chicken was very tender and juicy. We ordered a large pizza with thin crust, shrimp, FRESH mushrooms, and garlic. They did an awesome job and was one of the best pizza places I’ve been to. The atmosphere was nice. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. It was a family-friendly environment and would be a great place to take kids to. We sat in the bar area so we wouldn’t have to wait for a seat. Overall, I had a great time and would come again.

Aldo’s is another restaurant I have been to a few times while visiting my boyfriend’s parents, who live out in the country near Washington. For the size of Washington, it is doing fairly well on restaurant offerings but on a scale of all the Washington restaurants, I would put Aldo is the lower/middle range… it is not bad by any means, but also doesn’t stand out as being particularly great. The pastas I have had from here taste way too bland. The tomato sauce seems on the watery side and lacks any of the spices I look for when eating Italian food. I think a little bit of tomato paste, salt, and spices like some fresh(or even dried) basil and oregano could go a long way. I have also tried the meatball sub here, which was equally as flavorless as the pastas I have tried. The meatballs were cooked well and retained their juiciness but they were topped with the same watery, flavorless red sauce mentioned above. I have heard their pizza is supposed to be pretty good, so if I find myself at Aldo’s again I will give that a try and hope for more flavor!

I reluctantly had to make a visit to Wash Mo(sorry but I despise this town) to visit an old friend. Aldo’s was the suggested dining destination for lunch. I ordered the ceasar salad and we split a sausage, pepperoni, mushroom pizza. Wow, I was blown away by the salad! Hands down one of the best ceasar salads I have ever had! Nice and garlicky with that hint of anchovy. The pizza was just as good, Aldo’s version is more of a new york style pizza which is a nice change from the run of the mill STL style provel peculiarities that I really do not care for. Can’t speak for the pasta but the pizza and salad was far better than anything I have ever had on The Hill, STL, or Chicago! My only complaint is that it is in Wash Mo, open one up in STL and I would be one of their biggest patrons.

I have always liked the pizza here and the Primavera Salad is the best thing on the menu. I am not a fan of the pasta but the Beef Filet is outstanding as is the Veal. So, have a Primavera and a cut of beef or pizza and you’re good. If you want pasta, drive to The Hill. Coca-cola and EVOO on the table would have gotten them another star, but this is a solid 3 star restaurant.

Very nice place to eat some pizza in the Washingon area. Only been here once, but the pizza(get the house-made sausage) was very good, service friendly, and atmosphere pleasant. You’d never know such a pleasant interior exists to drive by it.

It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at Aldo’s, but someone I used to work with suggested we do lunch here, so away we go. I’ve always wanted to like Aldo’s more than I actually do. Cataldo(Aldo) Alu opened this pizzeria in my hometown 40 years ago and he and his sons are still involved in the daily operations. Things have expanded since then, and the menu includes your typical Italian fare… pastas with rich sauces, lasagna, and sandwiches… they deliver and will cater your party too. But I have yet to eat here even once when I don’t think afterward that I could have had something better without too much effort. Their food is just okay(hence the A-OK rating). Décor inside is just okay, and they’ve got their standard-issue Bing or Ol’ Blue Eyes CD playing over the speakers. They have a small bar area that will get the job done. The servers are friendly enough. It’s just the FOOD that’s not the greatest, and unfortunately, that’s the most important part. The first basket of bread we got was undercooked… I mean the rolls were still dough-colored and barely warm. But I’ll eat pretty much anything that’s put in front of me, so yeah. :P Second basket was better. My salad with house italian was limp and sad. And my lasagna lunch special was nothing to write home about… I’m pretty sure there were two kinds of noodles in it? Lasagna noodles and fettucine noodles too? Is that how they do it in Sicily? Weird. It’s been a while since I’ve had the pizza, but every time I had it back in the day(Tuesday, if you’re curious), the cheese would stick to the roof of my mouth so bad I needed a shovel to scrape it off. Long story short, I’d go back, but it wouldn’t be because *I* wanted to.

My boyfriend has raved and raved about this place so I finally tried it… he was right! We ordered a couple different pizzas, pasta, salad, and seafood dishes and everything was AMAZING!!! The pasta de pesce is unbelievable!!! The pizzas were spot on and the fish dish was flavorful and still really light. This place will definitely get a lot more business from me!

Aldo is a disciple of VITOLAFATA, St. Louis’ PREMIERE pizza maker! If there were any justice, VITOLAFATA’s pizza would define«St. Louis-style pizza» instead of the paper-thin, provolone-based Imo’s Pizza chain. Vito started out in Gaslight Square in the 60s with Pino’s. He taught the guy who runs«Pino’s II» in downtown St. Louis. He taught his brother, Frank, original proprietor of «Pizza-A-Go-Go». He taught his ex-wife, who used to run a place called«Mama ____________’s» in Clayton. He taught his son, Vito, Jr., who runs«Vito’s» near St. Louis U. And he taught«Washington, MO’s own» Aldo. Of all of these, Aldo’s comes closest to The Master, who has regrettably retired. I gladly drive 50 miles to get pizza from Aldo’s. ‘Nuff Said!
