We had the greatest pleasure of working with Jayselle for our wedding in October 2014. During our 2-year engagement, we interviewed four other wedding planners in the Northern VA area. While all were qualified and professional, no one gave us a sense that wedding planning was a personal passion. This wasn’t even considered a con to us at the time… that is until we spoke with Jayselle. In our first conversation(she didn’t make it feel like an interview), as shared with us her journey to wedding planning, we realized that this isn’t someone that just loves weddings and excels under pressure, this is also a person whose mission is to honor the story of the couple. The questions she asked went beyond what our vision was for the wedding or what we thought about the current trending color scheme for a Fall wedding. She wanted to know about us. Our history, our love, our family and friends, our interests as a couple and as individuals. By the end, we knew we would be in trusted, well-capable hands that could deliver a wedding that would incorporate the things we valued most. The choice to go with Jayselle as our wedding planner was one of the best investments we made! She was always so flexible of our busy schedules that no matter what time, day, or location, she made each meeting work for us. This was especially helpful when we had to interview multiple vendors, fill out tons of paperwork, find the perfect venue, etc. I’m not sure how we really would have been able to manage without Jayselle. When it came to the aesthetics of the wedding, Jayselle did a fantastic job of providing input without making us feel like we had to go with what was the norm. She also had a way of settling differences in preference between us by coming up with solutions that were the perfect compromises. Jayselle really exceeded our expectations when she opened up her home to us to store our wedding props as this would make it convenient to transport to the venue. This included two 8×12 boards of 3-D paper flowers, vintage briefcases filled with cigars and pipes, coloring books and crayons, bags of rose petals, light up foam sticks, etc. These things took up half her living room, but she(and her very understanding husband) was more than happy to have us store our things there. At the last minute when we had overlooked creating a seating chart, Jayselle refurbished an old mirror and turned it into our very own rustic elegant seating chart. This beautiful handwritten seating chart was one of my favorite items in our wedding! Overall, I would recommend Jayselle to anyone looking for a wedding planner. She did a terrific job with our wedding. Not just with handling the logistics, managing vendor relations, or keeping track of the financials(which all made our lives easier) but keeping the process fun and easy-going. This allowed to really focus on each other and not be as concerned with the planning itself. We really appreciated Jayselle and everything she contributed to making our wedding such a beautiful one!

Most girls spend their whole life planning their wedding, myself included. That being said, when the time actually came for me to plan my own wedding, shit got real. I was so overwhelmed with the entire process that I actually did not say a word during our first initial phone call because there were so many tears rolling down my cheeks. Luckily my husband was able to fill Jayselle in to our situation, which was that we had planned the bulk of the wedding already but we needed someone to step in and coordinate all of the details. And coordinate she DID! From finding childcare for our kid’s room to finding the best possible rate for a DC Pedicab send off, she took everything that I found overwhelming off my plate. I would simply meet with her, tell her what I want, my budget and she made it happen. She is a true fairy godmother. The day of the wedding went off without a hitch! Her team was complete professionals with ear pieces and all. I knew I was in good hands and from the moment she came into my life, there were no more tears shed. She is extremely thoughtful, creative, funny and relateable and after the wedding I felt like I had gained a new friend. Compared to other wedding planners in the area I have found her pricing to be very competitive and even more so she’s not stingy with her time! I hired her just for day-f coordination but she went above and beyond her duties which was extremely appreciated. If you are on the fence on hiring a wedding planner, I highly recommend it and I recommend hiring Jayselle from Good Events DC.
