Authentic Mexican restaurant on Chesnut St. across from Shorty’s Hot Dogs, a Washington Pa. must visit!!! For Los Patrones, they have tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas. You first pick your dough, then you have the choices of Barbacoa beef, steak, pork, chicken and Chorizo. The shredded beef and chorizo were the best of the bunch. I got steak, avocado and cheese in a burrito, and pork, avocado and cheese in a burrito. Both were big and good, with a side of refried beans with cheese and guacamole. My gf got tacos with shredded beef and chorizo, hers were excellent!!! They also have a salsa bar with different salsas and peppers and onions. For dessert they have different types of Mexican sweet breads made in house by the owner. A very good authentic Mexican restaurant worth the visit!

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican flavors, this is the place! Situated across from Shorty’s hot dogs on Chestnut St in «dahn-tahn» Washington, lies this little gem. You pick your taco, burrito, torta, or quesadilla, then pick the meat you want. We tried the steak, pork, barbacoa, and chorizo tacos and burritos. The barbacoa, and chorizo were the absolute best!!! The barbacoa was melt in your mouth tender and super rich and tasty shredded beef. Once you add their awesome salsas… delicious! If you’re feeling homesick or adventurous; they also have posole on Saturdays and Menudo on Sundays. And if you’re still hungry after all that; well then definitely try the Mexican sweet bread made by owner Humberto! As Bart Simpson likes to say, «Ay Caramba», was that good! Give this little local place a try! (Some burritos and tacos were seriously hurt in the making of this review).

As a burrito lover who has lived in so cal and norcal, I approve this place. Im hyper critical of my burritos, and it’s a surprise whenever I can find a place to compete with any taqueria in california(the birthplace of the mission style burrito). For $ 6 I got free chips, great salsa, good tomatillo salsa, tasty el pastor, avocado(not guac) in the burrito, and nice owners. The burrito should be wrapped in aluminum to trap the moisture and prevent spillage, but otherwise I was shocked to be in deeeeeepppp western PA and found a tasy burrito that wasnt from a chain.

We had the the steak gringo and the pork gringa– both excellent choices. The food is made fresh to order and tastes amazing! My fiancé and I had recently moved here from New Mexico and have been searching for delicious south of the border fare. We finally found here! We’ll definitely be back!

I ordered one of each taco to try them out. My favorites were the chorizo and the pork tacos. I felt that they were well prepared a la street tacos. The beef and chicken were well flavored but were a touch on the dry side. Still good though. They were traditional Mexican style which I prefer. The décor is casual. The dining area is small The menu is limited but I enjoyed the food. The sauces that they provide tasted fresh with varying degrees of heat.

After reading about this new Mexican taco joint in the local newspaper I was eager to try it out. I was very disappointed after ordering the 2 taco with beans and rice lunch special. The beans and rice was very bland and simply tasteless. It was topped with 2 pieces of shredded cheese and my dining companions had no cheese at all. The condiment bar left a lot to be desired and the complimentary chips were some cheap supermarket brand. Being that the owners are Mexican/Americans and all from Chicago I thought we would get some great authentic food. Way wrong! If you want some awesome AUTHENTIC tacos and a fresh condiment bar including homemade varying degrees of heat sauces keep driving until you come to Las Palmas across from The Tower Restaurant. Now that’s the real deal!
