My fiancé and I had a gift certificate for this place(which, frankly, is the only way we ever could have been able to afford it) so we paid a visit last Saturday night. We arrived fairly early, so the dining room was peaceful. We remarked upon the ambiance — perfect lighting, classy music, even some lovely holiday decorations. Their beer and wine menus are both respectable. In addition to two drinks, we ordered two appetizers and two entrees for a total of $ 90. I had the calamari, which was light and crispy, if a touch oversalted. My fiancé’s duck confit was better, with complexity from the fig jam and pine nuts. His paella was also very satisfactory, as was my rigatoni vodka. If anything, I was disappointed not with the portions — we were absolutely stuffed — but with the quality. Everything was delicious, just not particularly innovative or thoughtful. For $ 90, I expect a little creativity in addition to good flavors. Still, the food was satisfying and the servers were very personable. It was a perfect date.

My wife and I went there for the first time a few nights ago. Small place, atmosphere was nice except for the loud noise from the bar. I enjoyed the food but I felt there was not enough to fill me up. Spent $ 50 for dinner but was still hungry when I left. The food itself was good.

Went here for an evening out. Was just 2 of us. We waited for a bit before we were approached to be seated on the deck. The inside was less than average, so being seated outside was great. Service took longer than expected, but there were bigger groups of people being seated and waited on… Drinks were okay and the food was okay. Nothing spectacular about the place. What made the evening enjoyable was the company.

This establishment has went way down hill the past few years. I used to love their food and their service. Last time I went the food was okay, minus the crème brûlée which was so burnt it was inedible. They have changed the menu and a lot of the items have been removed or changed. The patio used to be a fabulous spot for happy hour, not it is all closed in with uncomfortable chairs. Nothing special. Warning, the no longer take certificates, even though you can still purchase them. I thought it was very unprofessional of them not to make an exception since they just seemed to willy-nilly change their minds. To top off not taking it, the reasons why they don’t anymore should not have been explained(I.e. They’re a bad company to deal with, they don’t profit from them, etc.). As a patron, that really isn’t my problem or concern.

We went here for Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t our plan, but the weather caused us to change our original plans. We called a few places and this was 3rd on the list of local places. They said they could seat us at the requested time of 8:00(it was 7:30 and no one else could accommodate us). That should have been the first clue. The place was cute and cozy. The tables were arranged entirely too close. We felt like we were eating with the people next to us on each side. Appetizer was good and the service was quick. Too quick. My husbands filet mignon was blue! Hardly cooked at all. They brought it out on a hot stone plate. My husband continued flipping it on the stone to try and cook it. It was ridiculous. He didn’t even finish it. I got chicken — who can mess up chicken. I thought it would be safe. They brought it out to me and it wasn’t what I expected. They served me chicken thighs and the bottom was so burnt — about ¼ inch at the bottom of my piece could not be cut through or bitten into. Impossible. It was like a brick. The top of the piece was undercooked. I also skipped the chicken and ate my broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. We had other plans and time was running out. We didn’t complain or send anything back. We paid out $ 107 bill and vowed to never go back and that I would write this review on Unilocal.Save your money and don’t take your chances on food poisoning. Maybe if it wasn’t a holiday they would have done better. I think they were trying to cook the food too quickly too accommodate more people than they can handle. Very disappointed. They should have told us they were booked rather than squeeze us between two couples and bring us food that wasn’t edible.

Food was amazing! Everything was fresh. Went with a big group and no one was disappointed. Even dessert was great. Owner came over and was extremely nice, even made chicken fingers off menu for my daughter. I will definitely be back and bring more friends.

Pleasant surprise. Produce from their garden. Everything well-prepared. Great seafood. Excellent service. We dined outside on their beautiful patio. Will return.

I went back to the bistro last night and I was blown away. Everything appetizers, entrees and cocktails were all amazing. As usual, the service was a bit slow but much better than the last time I was there.

This place is just eh. It’s one of the few places in town where you can go for a nice date night and drinks but the food is just subpar. I went here for first time for an event for gibsons gym. Sat outside and the food, drinks, and appetizers were amazing. I went back with my husband but none of the food i had at the event was on the menu. I ended up ordering paella that was so soggy and no flavor. We went another time after that and the calamari was soggy, and the pizza was doughy and bland. My husband had a burger that was ok. We were hoping to get gyros at this Mediterranean restaurant but they didn’t have any? Place is ok if you stick to kababs and burgers and ok with paying a bit more for just«ok» food. Atmosphere is decent. Very homey and they have an outdoor seating area which is nice. Bar is always crowded.

Had a big group of 15 in on a Saturday. Smooth service, great food. Steak lovers need to try the CABNY Strip, 7 or 8 of us had it and all left raving, as good as the big steak houses for far less. My wife had the Seared Mahi-mahi and loved it as well. Diverse menu with a little for everyone. Enjoyed a local guitar guy John Monnecka in the bar afterwards.

We have been here quite a few times because its close to home, and I must say we have very mixed feelings about it. For example, it is very overpriced but they often have coupons in the mailer and do participate in certificates. Also the food is quite good but portions are skimpy, especially the kabobs. The menu selections are VERY limited. Where are all the«Mediterranean» options? While they usually offer specials, they are often just slight variations of the standard menu. The service has always been excellent though, especially in the small bar area, and we often find friendly customers to chat with over drinks. Give it a shot, and be sure to share your feedback. This place has great potential, so hopefully they are open to suggestion!

Well I went back here on New Years Eve because our group of friends wanted to go. Again I was treated to a very mediocre meal that was washed down with overpriced drinks. They even screwed up our order and then tried to blame us by saying they had brought it out to our table, when all along the waiter brought it to another table and some fat Bastid was munching away on it. I hope I don’t get dragged here again to eat.

Oh boy… what mess. Went for bday dinner. Good was horrible. From the sangria to the entrees. Bland, tasted like cream sauce was sitting around for days and reheated. Just a def never again. Plus so quiet. Need entertainment. Even a radio. Saturday night too. One word… yuck!

From the first contact with the waiter until the desert and coffee this restaurant is a class act. The menu has a variety of wonderful dishes including some interesting appetizers. The food had so much flavor I can’t wait to try everything on the menu. You will surely be satisfied.

Service a bit slow but not painful. Atmosphere ok, not terrible — they could finish painting the ceiling but, hey, I don’t eat on the ceiling. Live music OK for old guys in Washington. Food, eh, overpriced for small portions of wanna be fancy fare that doesn’t quite make it there at all. My main main gripe, and this a biggy — ITSMELLSTERRIBLEINTHISPLACE! I mean WOW — do all the previous reviewers have colds? We sat against the wall about 5 tables down from the fish-tank and the carpet smelled like the one in my grandma’s basement that flooded during hurricane Diane in 55′ and no one ever bothered to clean it up! Blech! I spend my time worrying about what to order that would pair well with the overpowering musty smell of mold. No beuno! Last thought — Kebabs. Seriously? Not even close 1) Tiny portion(think mini satay size) 2) flavor — zip. The Thai beef tastes like salted beef. The peanut chicken tastes like salted chicken.

been here a few times… my guest have always enjoyed the steak cooked on the stone. My personal favorite is the duck when they have it… it’s only a special. The mashed potatoes are excellant and the lightly flavored butters are a nice touch to the otherwise plain bread!

Great food! I have been on two occasions, and I have tried a very large variety of food. Starters include the Antipasto and Fried Calamari. The Calamari was some of the best I have ever had, and I have had A LOT. Definitely fresh, not frozen. I have had the hanger steak served on a hot stone twice. Both times steak was seasoned nicely and the meat was super tender. Today two people in my party had the seared scallop entrée, and it was absolutely stunning. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and the mushroom/lobster risotto was perfect. The service tends to be a little slow, and it would appear there is a lack of leadership in that department.

Where to begin? Well, I wish I could give them a half a star. Went here for dinner for my brother in law’s birthday. And I honestly wish I had something nice to say… well the bathrooms were clean I’ll give them that. The appetizers were good, no complaints there. However the entrees were beyond bland, the presentation was lackluster, the service was beyond terrible(I received my food more than 10MINUTES after everyone else) and the«crème brûlée» was served in a small hospital cafeteria looking like bowl. In other words, don’t waste your time going here, I’ve had better food at Applebees.

Went to the Bistro last night for dinner. We made reservations because it was a Friday night and this was our first time at the restaurant. As it turns out, we were some of the only people there. The dining room was a little bright for me personally but I guess some might like that. We sat down at around 6:30 and ordered our drinks.(pretty good beer selection and nice martinis). I ordered the special Steak(blue cheese encrusted strip). Our meal came out very fast(within 10 minutes) but there was no salad or anything.(not sure if that is standard here, but felt a bit rushed). I did not notice at first, but my steak had no cheese at all on it. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she did seem dismayed, but did little else. The scallops were tasty but the tapenade(if there was any) was fried to a crisp. To compensate for messing up on my order, the waitress offered is a free dessert. We chose the Crème brûlée and were very surprised when it turned out to be just a dish of vanilla pudding with a tiny patch of melted sugar on top. Way too pricy for mediocrity. Too bad too, because I was hoping for more.
