Smeads, what’s not to love? Go here maybe once every six months or so, ok once every nine months. It’s about what you’d expect from a dive bar that’s been there since forever. Again, ok we know they were bought out a few years ago and they did in fact make it nicer but we come here for a decent drink and another place to hang out. Sometimes the music is crazy-loud, then we finish our drinks and get out of there, they just won’t turn it down at all and it’s literally so loud it’ll hurt your ears/head. They do a good job on their breakfast, kids enjoy coming along with us for dive-bar food. Again, it’s what you’d expect but we keep coming back(every nine months) There is a picture here from a customer where he’s flipping off the camera, I rest my case. Oh, and later in the evening please just don’t make eye contact or accidentally bump in to the wrong guy, it’s not going to end well one way or the other. Keep your eyes down and walk like you own that bathroom.

Local watering hole. Average. Beer. I like listening to loud conversations going on at the bar. You can tell these are people who know each other. It can be fun.

Stopped in for breakfast while visiting the area. Absolutely what we were looking for… local flavor. Service was friendly and fast. Omelette and pancake were tasty.

Food was ok, just bar food, but the service was terrible. We were served our food, but weren’t given plates or silverware. I had to hunt someone down for help. Creepy little bar.

we have become regulars at Smears due to the good food for lunch and breakfast. they take standard pub food and amp it up a notch. for instance they have butterfly shrimp sliders.

Kind of a dingy tavern and I only give a couple stars but I must say it is a great place to get together with Washougal folks :-) lol

What the hell happened to the Smeads of two years ago? What is with the techno hip hop crapola pumping out of the sound system? It’s Washougal for shit sake, not Compton! Won’t be going back. Will risk getting stabbed at Bigfoot before I go back here.

We live near Smeads so when they first opened we were excited to try them out. At first they were good. Typical bar food, etc. Then we just started coming for taco Tuesday because we knew at least those were good. Hubby drinks beer so that’s not an issue but I like mixed drinks and wine. Never could count on my margarita being made the same way. Even by the same person. Now I order a Paloma or wine. We are here to watch the Rose bowl. It’s freezing cold in here(I heard someone else complain about it as well). One bartender and the cook didn’t get in til 3:30. Sent my nachos back once because they were cold. It’s not even a comfortable environment to come to for drinks and a game because of the freezing temps indoors. Sticking to taco Tuesday only from now on.

I must say that the new ownership has Smeads looking really good. The old Smeads used to be pretty run down and with some seedy folks. Now it is really nice, I almost didn’t believe I was in Smeads when I walked in the door. They have a pretty good selection of brews and a nice pool table. And everyone I have talked to says«The bathrooms are really nice.» Which ain’t no joke.
