Wooly Wooly Wagtails Yarn

My Mom (a knitter) and me (not a knitter) were visiting Washougal from So. Cal. We heard there was a yarn shop so we stopped in and were competently assisted by Susan. The assortment of yarns is vast, and really well priced. The owner knows her market! Also, we were advised that knitting lessons are always offered. If I lived closer, I’d become a regular for sure.
This shop is a local gem!

Excellent selection and great FRIENDLY help! I despise snobby staff at many yarn and fabric stores and have even come to expect it. I was pleasantly surprised at Wagtails :) I am still a bit of a novice and appreciate help. They offered assistance and helped me choose the best yarn for my project. Amazingly, you just don’t find that kind of help at MOST yarn shops. Wagtails also has a meet up on Thursdays.

Initially, I really liked this yarn shop. The first time I walked in, Susan was very helpful and helped me when I first began knitting.
Later, I put yarn on hold and explained that it might take me a while to pick it up because I only have time to knit between college terms. Susan said this was ok and that I could pick it up whenever I wanted. I received a number of calls explaining that I needed to pick up my yarn. Every time they called, I would explain that I could not pick up the yarn because I was in term at the time, but that as soon as I was out of classes I would pick it up.
Eventually, the owner of the shop called and was very rude about putting the yarn on hold. I explained the situation, but she was upset still. So, I told her to put the yarn back on the shelf.
I am now one day into my Spring Break and was hoping to pick up the yarn, but I will have to settle for buying yarn somewhere else. Had they not said that it was ok for me to buy the yarn the way we arranged, I would have bought all the yarn at once. Instead, I feel the need to spend my hard earned money at a place that trains employees correctly and understands special circumstances.
