Really, not impressed. The people rating this place 5 stars must be inexperienced or starved for gelato. I’d rather go to Fred Meyer and buy some off their freezer shelf. Heck, for the price, I’ll buy two pints at the store over this place! The server was all alone in the final hour or so of the day. Most of the gelato was picked over or gone. They had a weird one called«blue sky» that the server couldn’t tell us whether it was supposed to be like cake frosting or cotton candy. Tells us she doesn’t eat this stuff either. She offered a sample but I declined. I like to know what I’m eating, thank you. We have a running inside joke in our house, but I doubt this one would have even«tasted blue». I really wanted lemon and there was barely a half scoop left so I passed. The server didn’t give me any options(like take a pint home from the back freezer or ???). Same thing on the peach, but I took it anyway with the dark chocolate fondant. This should have been an awesome combination but it was soooo not. The peach was great, but the chocolate tasted like water. More like ice milk. And the portions and cost are outrageous(not in a good way). For almost $ 4, I got a TINY cup that was mostly that horrid chocolate for my husband and I to share. It was scraped into the cup in a very unappealing way. Purely pathetic. And when I asked for spoons, she pointed to the itty bitty, plastic samplers. Um, ok. I’ve had gelato in Vegas and it was way more creamy and delightful. I did like the outdoor seating option as it was a rare, sunny day when it was worth taking advantage. I won’t be back but something tells me it won’t matter. They had a hand-drawn«We’re Moving» sign in the window with no indication of their new location. Smart. Not. Oh, and they had little cooler by the register with items from Hot Hot Chocolate Shoppe. They were asking $ 2 for TINY truffles and a mishmash of other overpriced items. No, thank you. When I make truffles at home, I make them four times that size and they are barely even two to three bites and not oversized in the least. I don’t sell them but if I did, they would be worth $ 2 unlike these pitiful excuses. This may be harsh for some to hear, but if you know me, you know you don’t mess with my chocolate or frozen treats! LOL!

I stopped in Gelatin Kudrino while visiting Wasilla and was delighted by the selection. My two boys ate the blue sky and repeatedly told me they loved it, between mouthfuls. I got the Fior di Latte(sweet cream) and the Gianduia(chocolate hazelnut). Both were some of the best gelato I’ve ever had. I highly recommend stopping in for a delicious treat!

This place was amazing from the customer service all the way through to there great variety of gelato and coffees. I have to say I’ve had gelato from California to France and the closest I can find to the flavors in europe are here at this place. Even their stracciatella is the best I’ve had since my visits to France. This place is the best I have found and that is saying so much from a true lover of desserts.

:Disclosure: One of my little bro’s works here. :End disclosure: The gelato is delicious. I’m not going to skirt around it. The staff who work here are well-versed about the product they are selling, and the product is a good one. I feel that there are few five star places in the valley(aka outside of Anchorage) and its really exciting when something new moves in and breaks the mold of what people think is delicious: cough, Evangelos, cough: My favorite moment at this place was when I asked for the hazelnut gelato and the kid says, «Would you like a hazelnut on that?» Then to his coworker, «Always give em’ a little topping — they love that.» It’s true!

After a morning of firing off a 22, 15 and 12 gauge shotgun, I was ready for a sweet treat — and this was the perfect place! WOW! Got the cherries jubilee — OMG! I was sorry I only got a small! Big huge full cherries, mixed into the pretty white and pink Gelato. YUMMMMMMMMmmmm. I was happy :-)

I swear to God, I could go here everyday. They are open everyday, too. In fact, they open at 11 am everyday, even Sunday. Service is friendly and informative and the gelato is displayed really well. It’s in large stainless steel pans and looks all whipped and billowy like whipped cream. I can attest to the chocolate mint, cherry and cheesecake flavors. You get a small size in these really cute, pastel colored plastic cups that look more like Tupperware, so we took them home to re-use. Plus the spoons that come are these pastel spatula things that the kids loved. Since the drive thru ice cream places in the valley all charge the same, there’s no comparison when you factor in quality. I’d rather pay $ 3 for a small gelato(that was about ¾ a cup I think) than $ 2.70 for a small, «flavor burst» cone with powder custard that isn’t mixed well and has lumps in it.(Great find Susan B.!!)

According to a recent article in the Frontiersman, the owners of Gelato Kudrino import all of their supplies & ingredients(except produce & dairy) in from Italy. They want to have an authentic Italian gelato experience here in the Valley. After reading the article online( ) I decided we should try it out. I’ve had gelato other places(outside) and really enjoyed it. Gelato can be made with or without dairy — and according to the guy working there today — their fruit flavors are dairy free. A nice alternative to ice cream. Gelato is lower in fat than ice cream. It has fewer calories, fat, and cholesterol of ice cream — and less air. They give samples of whatever you like — and they make the flavors fresh every morning. After a few samples I ended up with a small cup with ½ cheesecake flavor and ½ pineapple. The pineapple was as if I was eating a fresh perfectly ripened pineapple! The cheesecake was smooth and silky and not as sweet. My husband had a cherry flavor that was equally amazing. The youngster with us had a combo of bon bon and mint. Everyone raved and after sitting there eating our tasty desserts we all contemplated getting another for the road(although we didn’t). Décor is what I would imagine an Italian gelato shop to look like. Dark wood, tiled floors, and warm colors. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are surprisingly reasonable. I would have paid more than $ 3.50ish for the amazing cup of creamy deliciousness we received. They also sell pints & quarts(or with 24 hour notice I think you can get 5 gallons?) to go. Definitely THE new place to try in Wasilla. I think they’re open till about 9 every day.
