The food is absolutely amazing and the presentation is perfect. I LOVE the sauces! The service was quick and polite. It’s not too crowded or noisy and the décor is just right. I had the Ichiban Bento Box and I was very pleased.

This is My father in laws favorite place to eat so I have been there more times than I can count. The Japanese soups are good and their sushi is decent and fairly fresh however anything they actually have to cook in the back has been disgusting. When I have tried their cooked items(hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, yaki soba, hot and sour shrimp, on and on) all of the items were mediocre to horrible– bad sauces, not fresh, strange or no flavor. The bathrooms are sometimes not clean and we have had hit or miss service– either wonderful and friendly or super rude(specifically the sushi chef is not at all helpful and it isn’t uncommon to have no silverware or chopsticks until after your meal is served). If you pick the right night and the right items on the menu you can have a decent meal.

Huge portions during lunch, and great sushi. We stumbled upon this when another sushi place was closed due to the holiday. Greatest accident ever. It’s hard to find a place that’ll have good hot food and sushi, which they’ve accomplished. they have such a variety you can get lost in the menu! I will be going back at least once a week.

Usually I get amazing service but recently they have a new waitress and she’s incredibly rude and blatantly disrespectful. I recently had a baby and she began to fuss and I was given my check minutes after reviving my food then when I gave her my card she left it up front and made me feel very unwelcome from the moment I walked in. Never have been baby shamed but it is real

was told by a trusted friend that it was good. I won’t be back. first time i tried it sat at sushi bar for late lunch. chef would not take our order. finally after 15 minutes a waitress took our order and the chef made it in front of us. was a strange way to do things. underwhelmed by the sushi. figured the chef had an off day. it happens. tried again. food was disappointing. asked for a fork and was brought a dirty one.

Good establishment great service, food is pretty good, sushi is really good, and the portions are huge. They know how to get you in and out without making you feel like cattle.

I’ve eaten here a few times and always found the service and quality of food to be good, but nothing outstanding about it and probably the reason why I haven’t been back. The prices are inline with other sushi and Asian places, but there’s nothing there that makes me say Wow, so I just go to the other places in Wasilla that serve better food at the same price.

This place is great! We had an amazing waitress, I wish we could remember her name. She was from Hawaii, if anyone knows her. I really enjoyed that this restaurant offers Japanese and Chinese food, so if I feel like fried rice, I can get that with my sushi rolls. The fish was fresh and the rolls were well made. My husband always tests a restaurant by getting it’s Mongolian Beef and this place checked out, great food, great wait staff. We will be back!

This place is a joke, stay away. Stay very far away. The food is edible, hence one star above one but the meals are way overprice and some are actually freaking enormous, but you won’t know which ones unless you’ve spent hundreds of dollars trying them all. Boring, greasy, weird tasting food. You would be better off going to Rice Bowl or Panda Xpress. If you do go here, split the meals with someone. The sushi is spendy too, and most of the rolls are like way over done, over sauced, over ingrediented, and no real crab, none. All fakey flakey pollock flake. Will not being going here anymore. Rude waitress, with only rudimentary grasp of english, of no use for asking questions. Water full of ice, hate lots of ice, need to remember ask: no ice. Never again.

The food tasted great. It is a decent place for sushi in the valley. However this business gets 2 stars due to poor service. We had to ask for drinks 20 minutes after being seated and every time time we needed something we had to get up and find a server. At one point during our meal we asked the sushi chef if we could get some more drinks and was told«that’s not my job I only do sushi». It felt as though we were bothering them just trying to get a meal. This will not be our first choice in the future.

This place is my absolute favorite! The food is absolutely amazing. My favorite is the Italian Roll which I get almost every time my husband and I go. They’re a tad spendy sometimes, but it’s so worth it!

The mushu pancakes were Mexican tortillas. The mushu filling was bland and watery with almost no meat. Even the fortune cookie was stale. And The waitress looked at us funny when we asked for hot water bc it was freezing outside and too late for caffeinated tea. She brought back lukewarm water from the microwave. I didn’t come in with high expectations and was still disappointed.

We came here on Tuesday for a date night. Service was quick. No complaints there. We ordered a bento box and two rolls. These came with egg drop soup which I liked. Both rolls were good, but I only remember one of the names, the Black tiger roll. Prices are quite high if you ask me but it won’t stop us from going back occasionally. For two people the meal came out to over 60 not including tip.

We ate at Tokyo for the first time in over a year, and had a great meal. My Godzilla roll was delicious in taste and appearance. Our combo Chinese dinners were likewise carefully prepared and visually appeasing as well. We had excellent service. Never did our water glasses run dry or the tea get cold. The check was handled very quickly by the server(as opposed to the old days o f standing at the cash register for long periods of time), and he even bagged our take-home boxes in the instant we set them on the table. I know that we haven’t always had this good of an experience at Tokyo, but this trip will bring us back sooner.

My standard Mongolian beef and sesame chicken dinner with fried rice, is not on the menu. In order for me have this(minus the fried rice because that wasn’t a possibility as I was informed) they upcharge me $ 2. So the total for MY meal alone was $ 20.95! Are you kidding that’s ridiculous! I found myself spitting out half of my sesame chicken because it was too fatty or had a weird taste to it, completely disgusting. Plus, they screwed up my order twice. By the time I got my food, my kids were done eating. I was tempted to tell them to cancel it and take it off my bill, but they assured me it would be right out. However, the egg drop soup was delicious. My daughter ordered the double crunch roll for $ 16.95, it was good, not great but good. I really regret eating here. This was a waste of time and money. The prices are too high.

The egg drop soup was quite good, my black tiger sushi roll was fantastic and the interior is very rustic lots of wood and high ceiling feels very open

Why does this place have such high reviews? Food is alright. Service sucks. Service is extremely slow. Don’t run around helping other people while we wait 15 minutes just for our check!!! They are cleaning off tables when there isn’t even a wait. There are 8 open tables and yet they are cleaning others off, while not even clearing off our table or bringing our check!

Very awesome atmosphere, love the fire place in the middle, and we got to sit by it, a plus. The sushi bar was good looking as well. I had the Mexico roll and the Philly roll, they were as good as they looked. I also had the yakisoba chicken. Very well seasoned. I tasted the teriyaki chicken and loved it. No complaints here. And a very friendly staff.

I love sushi. I have not tried many of the(very few) sushi places in Wasilla, but I have tried a couple. Tokyo sushi for me stands out for two reasons: the quality of ingredients, the personality of the chef. The good: fresh and delicious salmon, an amazing«chef special» sashimi salad that was whipped up on the spot that was also super delicious, clean restaurant, interactive sushi chef even though he was very busy. The not so good: a few nigiri pieces were a little heavy handed with the wasabi smudge, some of the salmon pieces and roll pieces did not slice cleanly or straight so the knife might need some honing, some rolls were over stuffed or squished when rolling. The food was enjoyable and so was the atmosphere. I would recommend this place to others, and especially get a seat at the bar. I will say that I only ordered from the sushi menu though, and have no opinion on their other offerings. Many of the little things that keep this from being truly superb sushi can be attributed to one chef working very fast to serve more than a dozen patrons, many who arrived simultaneously. Will hopefully make this place a Monday night ritual.
