Recently moved to the downtown Waterbury area and decided to check this place out. Cool little joint, has plenty of dart boards and the atmosphere was relaxed and casual. Service was great, bartender was attentive and the cook came out and made sure everything was okay. Burgers were easily some of the best in the surrounding Waterbury area. Great selection of canned and bottled beers all at fair prices. No beers on tap but honestly they make up for it with the selection.

Overall 3.5 out of 10 Service alone*** 2 out of 10 The place is cool the atmosphere is also respectable the menus is very mediocre for options. Arrived around 10:45. As far as the food I haven’t eaten yet I sat here for 25 minutes at the bar for the girl to not only walk but me once no not twice not ok you get it must have been at least 8 times. Two of the times she walked buy to ask a co worker to grab something. Mind you the co worker was doing not a thing this will all make sense soon. So she finally takes my order and lo and behold the guy I original asked if they were serving food took the ticket and went to the back to make my burger. I waited 25 minutes for the man that has been standing buy me the hole time to make my f*#king burger. I almost left but I am now curious to see what my food will taste like since I’ve been here for f*#king 30 minutes. Oh surprise she just brought my drink to my table because I asked for a Coke when she was storming bye me about 10 minutes ago. More to come stay tuned… ***Food Alone*** 5 out of 10 So finally get the food to my table which the cook brought out and was very pleasant asked him for ketchup for the fries which he also brought out. looks good, good size for the cost. Fries seemed hand cut and good large fries. The so called BBQ sauce tasted like sweet baby rays which is not the biggest compliment bacon on the burger was cooked good and cut thick. Bun had substance. So overall. Think my experience in service made it tough for to enjoy and honestly I’m the nicest most down to earth guy that just enjoys good and decent service I still tipped $ 10 on a $ 12 dollar bill. Will I return maybe? Emmmmmm if I’m hungry and know i have some time to kill. But other than that not likely sometimes first impressions matter.

Chef Stan at the thirsty goat is the best! He makes everything hand made. His burgers are fresh and hand made, sooooo tasty! And his chicken tender platter comes with the most delicious sauces that he hand crafts. There’s a dill ranch, this amazing hot sauce, and amazing honey mustard! Everything is just soooo yummy here and worth every penny!

A bright spot in an otherwise bleak landscape for late night grub in Waterbury. We were promised the best burgers in town, and the promise was delivered. Had the Bacon Egg and Cheese Burger, but unlike some restaurants that’ll skimp on the bacon, this was the real deal. Bacon in every bite, and it really nestled itself as a place in my heart.

I have only been here once, but my group was treated well. We were going to an event at the Palace Theatre and were looking for a place to get a drink before the show. We found this place and saw a man sweeping the floor. The front door was locked and we knocked. He came over and told us they did not open til 6p on Saturday evenings. Our show started at 6p and it was probably around 5, at the time. However, he said come on in. He served us drinks and got us some house made chips. Soon, there were several other people at the bar. I live an hour away or I would certainly patronize this place if I lived nearby.

I love gastropubs, pretty excited Waterbury finally has one. That being said, it is a Waterbury version of a gastropub. It’s a small place. Street parking. Food was amazing. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and LOVED it. They had a decent selection of canned local beer(maybe 15 to choose from). It’s a kinda smaller place. We went on a Friday around 8. It was pretty dead– only a handful of other people but as I saw another review mention, the bartender/waitress wasn’t really attentive. She was talking with a few at the end of the bar that looked like friends or regulars and never even looking over to see if we needed drinks or anything. Overall, food n beer were great– I’d recommend checking it out for sure.

Goat is a fun place to visit if you’re in the Waterbury area. Lots of craft beers(bottles & cans) and some good quality liquors as well. Nice laid back atmosphere with some basic bar games. Unpretentious and fun staff as well. Haven’t tried the food yet but will be back for that! Make sure to try the Slow & Low Rock & Rye Whiskey!

Okay, so I’m a beer girl. I saw that this place has a few local offerings and the description said«gastro pub» and a fellow Unilocaler posted a pic with a burger with a fried egg so I had to check it out. Let me start by saying I’ve been to «gastro pubs» up and down the east coast & mid west. I’m Waterbury born & raised and I welcome and will support local businesses first. However lately I’ve traveled often out of our city for quality food and good beer.(I.e. Mikro in Hamden, BarleyVine in Bristol, Prime 16 in Milford etc.) Starting with the beer selection they offered Two Roads, Mosaic & Black Hog canned selections. Very nice. I would expand that to include NEBCO and a few others. I understand it’s difficult without taps. My BF had the bacon & egg burger on an everything bagel and I had the mushroom Swiss BBQ burger with sweet potato waffle fries. Everything was cooked as ordered and tasty. Now, on to the third most important part of our experience, the service. Although the waitress/bartender was friendly she wasn’t very attentive. The place was not busy at all for 7:00 — 8:30 on a Thursday night. She spend most of her time chatting with a few what appeared to be friends or regulars, we were like an after thought. I think they have the concept here with the beer & food. I hope they can grow the clientele to expand from run of the mill to new, exciting and different. Because that is exactly what we need in Waterbury. A place that offers good beer, fresh pub/bar food at a reasonable price.

Great bar in downtown Waterbury! Good food and beer choices. The menu is simple yet perfected with good picks like burgers, wings and chili! Gotta try the sweet potato waffle fries! Chef rob knows what he’s doing in the kitchen and glad I stopped here! Chad the bartender knows his stuff and was very attentive.
