Field of Beans

3.5 stars for Field of Beans. I think it has 4 and 5 star potential.
I stopped in here recently while I was in town, to get a quick coffee. This new spot is a huge improvement over their last location. Their old location was in a weird little strip mall and often overlooked. The new one is in a different strip mall (same street) but with higher exposure. There’s a Cousins Subs /​Figaro’s Pizza (yes, a combo store) right next door and a physical therapy office on the other side.
In saying this, this location used to be an old video store which was re-​tooled to house several businesses, which might explain things a little bit.
After making small talk with the owner, I ordered a medium iced coffee. They only offer medium and small sizes, but that’s all right. The owner and I made small talk while he made my drink, however I just got the feeling it took a lot longer than it should have, seeing as he made it from a mix. I’ll be stopping in here again, but maybe next time it won’t take so long… since there were no other customers around, I spent a good 5 (awkward) minutes waiting for him to finish with my drink.
All in all it’s a cute little coffee shop, and I like to stick with the local places when I’m in town, so I’ll continue to stop here on my way to see my folks. However, I will make sure to stop in when I have a little more time to spare.
