The Other Place

Some of the best pizza around but service is going downhill. Waitress took food order before asking what drinks we wanted. Sausage on whole pizza with mushrooms on half and c bacon on half is three toppings? Rude faces and gestures to the whole party. Ignored children’s refill requests. First blue moon had ¼ of an orange– second had no slice at all. 30 minute wait for bills and they were figured wrong. Will be taking food to go for a while.

I feel like we go here at least 3 times a month. We love the pizza. Any kind. We always ask for it well done. We like the cheese to be golden brown. Their turkey club sub is also delicious. The kids like the lasagna and the wings. Honestly we have not had anything we didn’t like. Their mozz sticks are also fabulous

I’m just finishing up their breaded mushroom appetizer & I’m a happy girl, to say the least! I usually have these, plus a grinder pizza, but I’m just having a snack tonite :-) let me just say that these are NOT your typical beaded mushrooms, straight from the deep freeze, identical to 95% off the other mushrooms you’ll be served in any other restaurant! They are fresh, breaded fresh & cooked fresh. Now, onto the service-​all I review is the take-​out staff recently. Usually, I’m not overly impressed or unhappy. I’m usually underwhelmed, although they do tend to get the details right. I would just ask for a little more friendliness overall. Anyway, this time I asked for some extra honey-​mustard sauce for my mushrooms &I was pleased to find it, when I got home. It seems these days to be ignored, in most restaurants & by the phone interaction, I expected to have my request be ignored. I just bring this up to highlight the attention to the «little» details, which I personally appreciate a great deal!
Overall, a great place & great food (just work on «nice phone» in the future!)

I make it a point to go at least once when I am in Waterloo. The food is good but the service is hit or miss. Last time we were there our waitress was rude. She took my drink without asking to «be refilled» and never brought it back! She also took FOREVER to get our check, at one point we thought she forgot about us because she went to the bar and rolled silverware rather than cash us out.

New management has really turned this place around. Good food, great service. Large menu. Great for large groups, they have NFL ticket and lots of HD tv’s great spot for the big game. If you haven’t been in a while give it another chance.

Even though we live by the University O.P. we always go to the Ridgeway Avenue one. MY husband’s favorite part is the crust and I absolutely love the cheese; you get plenty! We never get anything but the pizza but I’m sure everything is great.
