The rooms are severely dated using CRT tvs with distorted aspect ratios. The hot tub is anything but, it’s barely Luke warm. The restaurant is over priced for the portions but the buffet is worth it. The sauna was out of order and no one was actively repairing it. The casino doesn’t have the biggest variety of games but it’s large and pays out relatively well. The beds are very firm but quite comfortable. I suggest to bring snacks and TV dinners as there are no other restaurants for 30 miles. Our couch and chair are straight out of the 90’s and has burn holes and stains but that is to be expected with a smoking room. But for only 95 dollars for a room with a jacuzzi and microwave and fridge it’s a good price. Very spacious room. Spacious bathroom. We had room 223.

Rooms– I have stepped back into the 90’s here– tube tv’s in rooms, oak everything, scratchy comforter spread. Food– They have not figured out that it is cheaper to make fresh food instead of processed food. Only complaint-front desk person denied us extra pillows– tough nights sleep with airport pillows, old bedding, springy mattress’s. I would pay more per night for comfort.

We went here while on our vacation, and it was one of those«we should have stayed someplace else» type of experiences. The beds are so hard that the floor would have been more comfortable. The wallpaper border of the rear of horses and people was very outdated and disturbing, and not to mention falling off the wall in some spots. The food was barely edible(the buffet had a 2 hour wait for seating, and there is NOTHING else even close to the location, so you’re stuck, unless you want to drive another 30 miles or so to WI and try your luck). The casino… joke city! Never again. Just never again. I would rather sleep in the mom and pop stops along the way than to stay here. Save your back, your money and your headache and book something else.

I went to this place for a wedding so I stayed here for a couple of days. So there are some pros and there are plenty of cons. When we first got there, the front desk lady was extremely friendly. About 90 percent of the staff here were friendly from the waitresses and hostess at the restaurant to the bartenders. They have us a bunch of vouchers for free drinks and food so that was nice. First we will start off the room. This place is no Hilton. Now I wasn’t expecting the Hilton but it could use a little more updating. It’s a good place to sleep but the shower was clogged and the tv was of poor quality. Now I could have asked to get this stuff fixed but we weren’t staying there that long anyway. It was an average room. I have stayed at better but I also have stayed at much worse hotels. Next we will talk about the food. This is probably the weakest point of the place. The food was awful in every aspect of eating. The first night we used one of our buy one get one free buffet coupons. It was a seafood buffet and decided what the hell lets try it. Lets just say that everything that went into my mouth besides the coke was disgusting. Crab legs weren’t the actual color they were suppose to be and the fried shrimp just didn’t taste right. Not much better with the breakfast buffet either. Just tastes like hash from a can and the eggs tasted funny. The only thing that i thought was decent was the French fries but some other people disagreed with me. I guess you get what you pay for but I didn’t pay 2 dollars a person. Next we have the casino and bar. Like I said before, the bartenders were pretty good and kept our drinks full. There was a big group of us so it is not an easy thing to do. Also the prices were amazing. Paying 2 dollars for a beer is right where I would want to pay and plus they give you 2 dollar off coupons too. The casino floor is small. They have a lot of slot machines but not a lot of actual tables. Also the tables aren’t open all the time and they only have one of each game. I get that this isn’t any of the Vegas casinos but I do wish that they would be open a little more than 8 hours a day. The slots did seem a little harder to win at but it could have just been a bad weekend for us too. Plus casinos are not just goin to be giving away money. The people at the roulette tables were very good. I played with a few people that never played before and they helped them with that and even made fun of them too. Last but not least was the wedding itself. They hold the receptions in their bingo hall. So of course many of us had to yell bingo just cause that is what we do. Again the food here was decent but nothing that was spectacular. Although I did look the mozzarella cheese sticks. Only problem with the reception I had was that they had a band playing next to the hall and they would have a light shining in your eyes and they seemed like they didn’t want to turn on the lights during the cocktail hour. So in conclusion the pros are the friendliness of the staff, the cheapness of the drinks, and the amount of coupons they give you Cons is the food, tables not being open long enough, and the outdated rooms. This place is an average hotel/casino. For being in watersmeet it isn’t a bad place by no means if you are planning on going to the UP. Just do not eat the food.

I’ve been going here a several times a year for a long time, since they were in their old smaller building. I used to always win/lose a small amount of money on the slots, but then the past couple years it seemed to get harder to win anything here. However, I won on slots both times I went last week, so perhaps my worries were unfounded. Never tried the food or the hotel.
