Coolidge Hardware

So happy to find a local family-​owned hardware store since relocating from Brattleboro VT, home of the great Brown and Roberts.
The owner Manny cut some keys for me, resized some shades, and found the right adaptor for my kitchen faucet, all the while tolerating the needs and questions of my four-​year-​old. More than I can manage on some days.
I thought the prices were reasonable too.
We will check with Manny and Mike before going anywhere else!

I called them asking for J-​B Kwik Weld epoxy, and they told me they had it. Excited, I rushed over. Turns out they had J-​B Weld and J-​B Wood Weld, but not J-​B Kwik Weld. Why did they waste my time?
It may be a good place to buy hardware – I don’t know – , but they need some help in paying attention to customers on the phone.

Love it. Just feels like you neighborhood hardware store. It’s packed with everything you’d ever need, and the people who work here are really friendly and helpful. Let’s keep stores like this alive!

After a nightmare experience at Home Depot in Watertown, my mother suggested I go to Coolidge Hardware. Boy am I glad I did. The lovely man behind the counter helped me find the correct paint I needed and even had his co worker bring the paint out to my car. Talk about customer service! Coolidge Hardware has a new customer for life. So long Home Depot!

I love local businesses, and try to «vote» with my dollars by shopping at them.
This store seems bigger on the inside than on the outside– I think they have everything anyone might need (and I don’t have to shop at a Big Box store)!!!
The plunger (I had a choice of a couple) and bucket I recently purchased were reasonably priced, and the staff are always helpful and kind.

Love this place — always get my Benjamin Moore paint from here. Very knowledgable and helpful. Was sent here from home depot employee so even HD acknowledges their superiority :)

Grew up around the corner from this place and I could still walk in and put something on my mom’s account. As in, they know and trust that she’ll come in and pay up. (Being a responsible adult with my own money, though, I don’t do so.) Just saying this is a TRUE neighborhood store. SUPPORT LOCAL hardware stores! This is one of the last few that haven’t yet been driven out by the giant conglomerates. In the heart of Coolidge Square, home to terrific shops, bakeries and restaurants, this is a great place to buy paint, get keys cut, find tools and gadgets and wallpaper… Check it out!

Great local hardware store that specializes in paint supplies. The staff is super knowledgeable and want to help you. Since it is a smaller than Home Depot they don’t carry everything under the sun but if you don’t want to deal with HD and you want help from people who know what they are talking about this is the place to go to. They carry top quality paint brands and supplies and really take the time to find out what you are trying to do and help you pick the best paint and supplies for the job.
I was in there today and they were telling a woman to buy less expensive brushes than she had selected because she could get the same results with the cheaper brushes with the paint she was going to use. Also if you need something they don’t have the owner Manny will pick up the phone and find it another local store for you. For your next do it yourself project go to Coolidge Hardware and experience getting help from people who know their stuff and actually care about your coming back to buy from them again.

Doesn’t have everything that the big orange box store does, but makes up for it by caring the best in painting supplies. They also have the best staff that will help with any questions you have about a project.
Not open on Sunday and I think they close by 6:00 durning the week.
