I’m writing this in comparison to other Friendly’s locations– good food, good service, good timing. If you want Friendly’s specifically, come to this location. However, as a chain, I would not recommend it over other options around the area.

Saturday at 3:00pm, went in to get a soup to go. 15 minutes later, it arrived. The chicken noodle soup was good. But 15 minutes for an outgoing order?

It was me and my mom. I always loved Friendlys and this was my 1st time since moving back to MA. It got my hopes up that there were other people in the restaurant, I actually thought this meant the service was good in this location. STUPIDME. First couple mins, my mom wanted to walk out because the hostess flat out ignored us and seated a party that came in after we did. Then we got seated at a dirty table with only 1 utensils set(we were 2 people) so I had to grab one from another table. So since no one came to clean our table, my mom took it upon herself to clean our table! She went to grab their spray and cloth and seems no staff noticed this or cared to apologize for their lack of cleaning, that caused my mom to have to clean our table! Then no server ever came to take our order, so my mom again had to go to the hostess to tell her to get someone to our table to take our order. Then when someone did come by, she flat out said ‘I’m not your server but I’ll take your order’ there was never any ‘Hello, welcome to Friendlys’ or anything remotely friendly or hospitable. I asked for salad just for her to tell me, ‘there’s no salad available’. What kind of place doesn’t have salad?! Yet when we got our cold sandwiches later, there was lettuce and tomato included… Anyway, it took forever for our food to come, seriously it was not that difficult. My mom got the tuna roll which was literally a bunch of mushy tunafish on a hot dog roll! And I got a turkey club sandwich which btw, had a bunch of bacon on 1 half, and a couple bacon crumbs on the other half. seriously?! so both meals were mostly all cold ingredients so no major cooking was necessary besides the bacon and fries, we already know so much of their stuff goes in the microwave anyway. I asked for a sprite refill which also took forever, you would think I asked for some complicated bar drink. Sadly I needed the refill cuz I ended up drinking all of my 1st Sprite while waiting for our food, so when the food finally came, I stupidly wanted something to drink with it. Then I didn’t get my Sprite refill until I was already done with my meal! C’mon! But at least this refill wasn’t flat like my 1st Sprite. The server we had for the rest of the time really rushed around and moved very fast, yet she sucked so much at actual waitressing, at least with our table, she was oh so attentive to other tables… The only good thing about the whole experience was the clam chowder. I dunno why, but their clam chowder is so good to me, it’s probably out of a can lol but it’s so good lol. Overall, with every step of eating in a restaurant, we only got slow/no service, had to do things ourselves, it was dirty and there were more dirty tables with used dishes still on the tables for most of our time there which should have been fast but instead was about 1.5 hrs, 1 hr of waiting! I would’ve liked to get ice cream but the whole debacle took tons longer than it should have and we had to go. I don’t even feel bad that I had a $ 5 coupon lol. And that server is lucky she got a $ 2 tip from me for $ 20 bill, I should’ve not given anything. I was very depressed at the idea of never going into a friendlys again after this. Everyone told me friendlys service has really gone down the drain over the years to prepare me for disappointment, but wow, this was just atrocious. It’s called FRIENDLYS for a reason, I kept watching the servers and so many tables had children and the servers couldn’t even be child-friendly! This is not the standard of friendlys I remember. The one I always went to was in Wollaston /Quincy and it’s so small but was great. Another great one was in Dedham I think. I can only hope those ones are still great?! But if not, then I’m almost sad to be back in MA and no more Friendlys I’m willing to go to.

Had to come back when I got a free medium sundae coupon for being a Friendly’s BFF(they treat their friends well!) We designed our own sundae with 8oz cookie dough and hot fudge and Kit Kat pieces as our allotted 2 toppings(luckily whipped cream doesn’t count!) Service was super quick and a medium sundae was more than enough for 2 people. The hot fudge was awesome per usual, as was the cookie dough ice cream. Seriously delicious! My only complaint is that the Kit Kats were super stale… Blegh. Have to deduct a star for that as it marred the otherwise beautiful & delicious sundae.

Called and ordered a turkey club supermelt on a Sunday evening. Was told 10 – 15 minutes for for takeout. I was forced to wait in the ice cream ordering line to pay, and then my food hadn’t even been started 30 minutes after calling. The girl who took my order felt bad and offered to comp my meal but I said I didn’t want it free, I just wanted it. I finally got it after 45 minutes, which is unacceptable for a sandwich and fries. I got dirty looks the whole time I was waiting. Growing up in New England, Friendly’s is familiar and sometimes I crave it but always end up regretting it because of the truly awful service at every single location. Watertown is no exception. There are always a LOT of staff standing around and 1 – 2 of them clearly and frantically doing all the work. This place is a joke.

Worst Friendly’s restaurant I have every been to!!! Place was dirty, service slow, but I swear i could’ve forgotten all this if only the food was good … Everything was awful! !! Fish and chips came with no more than 8 – 10 pieces of fries– it’s called fish and CHIPS for a reason!!! Fish was greasy and hard. Burger was ok, but again, very little fries were served. Can’t remember what my husband ordered, all I remember is that he didn’t eat it. NEVERGOINGTO A FRIENDLY’S RESTAURANAGAIN, ANDWOULDNOTRECOMMENDITTOANYONE!!!

This location is Horrendous. Filthy. Poor service. Waited for about 15 minutes to be seated in a half empty place. I’m embarrassed to be here.

This franchise is a joke. My 2nd time ordering from them after work. I put the order in at 7:10pm. I am here waiting for my order at 8:00pm. They had a whopping 40 minutes to make a reuben sandwich and waffle fries. I had to wait in the ice cream line to pay as well. I tried going into the dinning room, but couldn’t find a host/hostess. I made eye contact with one server, who immediately put her head down. And ignored me. I was thinking this place has upgraded from the happy commercials they’ve been broadcasting on TV. Don’t be fooled, it’s still as sad and ho-hum as you remember. Employees rushing around, with no smiles or thank yous to be seen or heard. This is my last order I ever make from them. Sad excuse for a company. Also if you were wondering, I got my order finally at 8:08pm. After being asked if I was all set, by the same cashier that just rung me out. She forgot my order, and gave me an attitude because I asked her«seriously » . One food order in a pool of ice cream orders. AVOIDTHISPLACE!

This place is a total dump hole. The clientele and employees all seem to have been airlifted with the restaurant from deep in the heart of Alabama. Service is incredibly slow, shoddy and rude and the entire restaurant is filthy.

First off let me say that I’m sick and tired of all you« Unilocal-ists» criticizing me about my first review, claiming I’m «not credible» and«immature». I’m just as qualified to write good reviews as any of you dummies, and also, you don’t know me, you don’t know what I’ve been through at that Tim Hortons I wrote about. Okay so to start, as an out-of-Towner, we don’t have Friendlys, so I was excited to be here. Right off the bat I noticed that they aren’t very«friendly» to the handicap community. Because the only ramp in sight was in the back of the store, by the garbage. I guess they think the handicap are garbage. Personally I don’t think that, I think they’re just as good as regular, non-broken people. So anyway, we get inside and get seated. The store was filthy, like a garbage dump, if a garbage dump had ice cream. It was really dirty, like REAL bad. None of the tables were cleaned, we got put at a dirty table and then we didn’t even get a server for 15 minutes. Or should I say server-ess, cause she was a girl. She also happened to be African American. I wasn’t even gonna mention that, not that I’m racist, cause I’m not, and if you think I am then you’re reverse-racist. I’m just saying it’s good to see a diverse workplace, especially in this day and age, it’s 2015 people, open your eyes. So after that we get the food, I got cheese burgers, but little ones, like a big cheese burger, but small, and there was 4 instead of 1. Also onion rings. The cheese was weird and sticky, but the burgers were decent for peasant food, and onion rings were nothing special. So halfway through I had to excuse myself to the restroom, I’m only human, so if you think that«bathroom talk» is gross, wake up. Anyway the bathroom had toilet paper everywhere and weird water on the ground, so it was a normal public restroom. I would’ve have been more comfortable eating in there than in the dining area, if that says anything about how dirty the tables were. So after 20 minutes of waiting we get out ice cream, it was decent, nothing special, you’re better off going to DQ if you want ice cream. There will be less hassle. Summary: dirty tables, bad service, diverse workforce

I placed my order over the phone at 12, was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I walked in at 12:12, nobody contacted me until 12:30 at which time I was told my order hadn’t been started yet(after the poor girl who had just clocked in was treated VERY rudely by 3 other employees while asking about my order.) There was barely anyone in the restaurant. Before I was greeted I witnessed a male employee all up to a female employee who immediately started screaming at him to get away from her because she«couldn’t deal with him right now.» He then proceeded to shove his gloved hand in her face, she looked like she was going to vomit and said«that smells like tuna.» That is DISGUSTING. I had just watched him re-roll half of a roll of paper towels with those gloves on. You can see the ice cream prep area from the pickup window, EVERYTHING is dirty. The floor is grimy and the ice cream station is plastered in dried up ice cream. The employees were all wearing dirty, ice cream crusted uniforms as well. Needless to say I didn’t leave with any food or ice cream from this disgusting place. Never again will I go here.

The service here is always slow. If you’re planning on eating a full meal here, not just ice cream, then make sure you don’t have to be somewhere afterwards. If you do eat in, I recommend getting loaded waffle fries with your foods instead of just fries.

I have to say that Friendly’s is one of my favorite places to go to eat a good burger I recommend trying your burgers this way ask for a big beef cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato on sourdough bread then ask for a large side of kicken buffalo sauce to did your burger into or add on top of your delicious burger and a side of coleslaw and some pickles and some waffle fries with cheese and bacon bits and sour cream it’s so yummy this is the Tony choice.

Worst Friendly’s experience ever, which is saying something. Had to wait an inordinate amount of time to be seated. Were given food menus when we wanted ice cream menus. Waitress is sullen. Ice cream serving was tiny and melted. Fudge was not hot, peanut butter sauce was hard. Had to send two people’s ice cream back because the cups were half full. One serving was missing a flavor of ice cream. The French fries are hot and crunchy, so I guess we should have stuck with the food menus we got in the first place.

This is one place I’ve been and forgot to review. Friendly’s in general is a pretty good place to get ice cream, or food. I’ve been to locations in Norwood, Needham, Dedham, Wrentham, and Milford before here, and would like to say I liked it here 2nd best. I don’t think any other friendly’s is going to have the old bar like seats like Dedham(I know Wrentham has them too, but that place is crowded!), yet no one is going to have the charm of this Friendly’s. The waitress, Rosemary was great… she was so happy I was going to give her a good review on the receipt survey, because she was a great waitress — everything we needed was done in a timely, kind & friendly fashion. Everything at this Friendly’s is Friendly, and now remodeled, and NOT closing!

So… Ok, I am not a chain person so I was skeptical to go here but I wanted to take my daughter for some ice cream and we were at Target so thought we would try. To be clear, the ice cream concoctions we got we great… super yummy… prices are cheap and variety is fantastic… and overall, the menu for food and kids meals seems pretty good… so overall that part would get a higher star rating… BUT… The place is pretty gross… high chairs were not clean, it feels like a low class Denny’s, and that is saying a lot… I didn’t want to touch anything … The tables and benches were also not too clean… I wouldn’t have eaten something that dropped onto the table. The staff was not so pleasant and music playing on the system above head was rap… not so great for little kids. The staff seemed to be a little scattered and like they were super busy, but there were only a few other tables and more than one server, so I can only imagine what would happen if it were a peak time. Honestly, I wouldn’t not go back here because the ice cream was good and variety/prices worked… but definitely not a place I have high expectations for, and not some place I would take anyone that I didn’t know really well.

WISHITHAD A DISLIKEBUTTON!!! Friendly’s is RACHET!!! How is this business still running up? I went there with the family. They ran out of clean spoons i guess, so they gave us plastic silverware and YESWEWEREDININGIN! Bathrooms are gross and totally UN-ACCESIBLE!!! Mostly all the tables were running out of ketchup bottles and the waiter gave me 2 used up disguiting bottles. They had more unopened bottles but didn’t want to give us the new ones! Also, the waiter gave my daughter a cup with an opened cap used for the FRIENZIE’S Ice-cream. Hello… why didn’t you give her a friken lid!!! DISGUITNGPLACE… go eat somewhere else. DON’T COMEIN!!! The food itself is standard friendly flair. The derive tho can be a miss here. Here r plenty of servers but they don’t seem to be organized well. They don’t bus tables after done & seem to leave long periods to check in on the customers which can lead to unhappy moments. And there r some clientele who just hang out for a very long time. It’s def an int friendly.
