This restaurant is in an area where it is difficult to find authentic Mexican food, as well as in an area not dense in restaurants, period. That being said, giving this restaurant A ONESTAR is exceedingly GENEROUS. The restaurant, on a Friday night, was nearly deserted of customers, we, a two top, and two more sets of two customers. There was one server, and what appeared to be a manager or owner of sorts. I saw only one other employee there, who cooked, and also prepared beverages. We ordered our food, waited an eternity for our beverages(the server did not know if they served coffee there. We had to wait, as apparently the bartender also cooks the food, and makes the coffee.) As we were waiting, one of the patrons become progressively loud, making increasing inappropriate comments, foul, vulgar, and descriptive language(and what he would like to do) to the server, his dining companion We had been there over 20 minutes, and still had not gotten our beverages, nor our coffee. The man at the counter said I had to wait as the cook also prepared the beverages.(It is not clear why he could not do that, or show the server how to do this.) I went up to the counter, to ask where my food was,(we were not the only people in the restaurant besides the intoxicated couple) and to speak to the manager about the couple who was creating a disturbance, clearly had been overserved and were intoxicated. The manager(?) told me that there was nothing he could do. HETHENPROCEEDEDTOSERVETHENMOREALCOHOLICBEVERAGES !!! I paid for the beverages we had, for the chips and salsa, left the server a good tip(this was quite obviously her first night), and prepared to leave. I told the server she did NOT have to take that type of abuse from customers, nor work in a hostile work environment. I told the manager that by overserving he may be held responsible for what his customers did on the way home. I told him he had a responsibility to evict his customers if they were verbally abusive to his employees, and if anything, it was bad business to drive away customers like this. I called the Watertown Non-emergency line, the dispatcher blew me off. She said that since it was a private establishment, the bartender could serve the customers as much as they wanted, and they could act any way they wanted. I asked the dispatcher to send a squad to the location to check on the safety of the patrons who were driving from the restaurant, and she said she«will think about it». Very disappointed in Watertown. Sure would like some good Mexican food.

Oh La! Buenas noches my friends! Feeling a little Mexican tonight, so I headed out to the downtown Watertown area to look for some Mexican grub-a-dub-dub… Came upon a Mexican restaurant called — La Finca De Adobe tonight & lucky for me, one of my co-workers use to live here in Watertown area(for 4 years), so he kinda knew a few good dives to go to. What can I say about this place… it was a pretty big restaurant, homie kinda feel, with real Hispanic people cooking the food & serving the grub.(I like authentic!) Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted, & seated right away. From there, out came a few baskets of delicious tortilla chips & salsa.(Love it!) After scanning the menu, I decided on having the Crab Meat Enchiladas($ 12.50) with a cold beer. What can I saw about the grub… well, I just love Mexican food, and this Crab Meat Enchiladas came out hot & fresh! I must say the platter servings were so generous & cheap! They gave just waaaaaaaay too much food! I could not finish up everything, but I tried really hard. While we were eating, by new friends from Puerto Rico advised me not to put any«Hot Sauce» on my food, otherwise you will not taste the real goodness of your grub. I’m glad I did not use any hot sauce, as the food was seasoned, and served perfectly the way it was! Noms! I am puuuuurty full now, but will have to stay up a few hours to do some studying, so I hope I don’t fall into a «Hawaiian coma» after eating all that food, & drinking all that beer. Yikes! Lol! There is no private parking lot here, so you will have to do the street parking thing… But not to fret, as there is tons of free street parking! Thanks for an enjoyable meal! Adiós, hasta que nos encontremos de nuevo!

This place is great. I’ve been here about 4 – 5 times in the past 2 months. I brought my family here when they were in town and they thought it was great. I laugh at these people complaining about the presentation of the food– maybe they’ve never been to an authentic Mexican restaurant? These people make great food and it reminded me of my time in Juarez. The chips are great as well.

tried the combination platter. Very good and reasonable value. Place has a full bar for those so interested. Service was good. They have seafood and steak specials as well.

Leftovers anyone? Every time, EVERYTIME! I never like to count anything out before I give it at least one chance at redemption. Well, La Fincas been given three, and they’ve failed. I feel bad for saying that, the waitresses I’ve had have always been friendly, and the dining room is clean. The chips and salsa may be the best thing on the menu, and they are nothing special. But it seems every time the food comes its the same story. The presentation is standard; rice, beans, the entrée, and some shredded iceberg lettuce topped with two slices of a radish and an orange slice that could double as the sole survivor of a nuclear holocaust. This orange is a good indicator of the entrée. Everything is dry, and what should be dry and crispy is mushy. The speed of service might give clues to the preparation of the orders. From the time the waitress walks into the kitchen until she returns with the molten plates can not be more than 6 minutes. Which in my mind, points to one thing, a microwave. One big, high powered, industrial, shiny steel microwave. Not acceptable.

Living in Denver(Watertown native), we have access to some pretty good Mexican food. The last impression I had of Mexican food in or around Watertown was ChiChis, or perhaps Deegs. Gracias, pero yo no quiero. Guacala! Personally, I ordered the Tacos al Pastor(marinated pork with pineapple. Trust me, you’ll love it if you like pork), and they were excellent. I also ordered a chile relleno ala carte, also very good. Others in our party had various other dishes, everything I sampled was very tasty, the standout was the taco salad. My only knock on the place, and it’s a small one, is fluorescent lighting. Can’t stand it. Leave that for Walmart. Otherwise, décor and ambiance are great.
