The best hibachi place I’ve been out of 7 restaurants I’ve been too. Will definitely come back. The salmon is phenomenal!!!

I live in Watertown and this is my main Japanese/sushi place. THESUSHIISWONDERFUL. Presentation is an A+. The sushi chef’s really take their time and make them to perfection. The hibachi is great too, the chefs are extremely accommodating and they put on a great show. The staff is okay, it depends when you go and who you get. The owner, the girl, is very nice and will answer any questions about sushi and really cares about what the customers think, she’s great.

Pitiful. So slow and unable to keep up. 45 minutes now on a take away order. Ridiculous. Don’t bother coming here unless you like waiting.

By far, my favorite Sushi place in CT. If you go, get the Godzilla roll. This is my 4th or 5th time here and I’ve never had a bad experience. The waitresses are all great as well!

Makes twice I’ve eaten here. Both times the Hibachi chef used way too much soy sauce. The second time I even asked him to keep it light on the soy sauce. Drenched my scallops. :(Another issue both times was the timing of the food. Both times, the chef gets the rice ready and serves it. Then he works on cooking the meat. By the time he serves the meat, the rice is mostly gone or what’s not eaten is cold. Then at the end he cooks and serves the vegetables. I’ve eaten at other Hibachi restaurants and have gotten cooks who time the various foods much better so your eating everything pretty much together.

The service was so slow and terrible it gave me ample time to download Unilocal to leave a review. I called in for take out and they told me 45 minutes. We are at over an hour and a half and though they gladly took my money I still have no food. This is totally unacceptable and I’ve barely received a sorry.

Really good food! Great staff. Fun to go for either hibachi or regular dinner. A little expensive but I think it’s well worth it.

Nice place. I’m not a fan of open hibachi tables. I’ve had bad experiences. I like that I can get a hibachi meal and sit at a separate table. The meals are good.

I grew up in Watertown, come back to town every now and then, and decided to stop in Sakura today with my mom. We came during lunch and it was moderately filled. People were standing near the door waiting for their take out orders and a few tables/booths were filled, with a family sitting at one of the hibachi tables. We were given a choice of booth or table when we were greeted and opted for the booth. I ordered the sushi lunch special with two rolls that came with miso soup, while my mom got the hibachi lunch combo of filet mignon and shrimp that came with a clear broth onion soup. My choice of rolls were the shrimp tempura and sweet potato rolls(didn’t feel like being adventurous today lol). They were delicious, the shrimp tempura roll had just the right balance of avocado, shrimp and celery, and the sweet potato roll was warm, which was a pleasant surprise. My mom enjoyed the hibachi lunch very much. Service is good. Our waitress was nice, but needs to work on her timing. She was ready to take my plate away when I was mid-chewing and had one piece of sushi left on the plate. Just raised my hand to her to let her know I wasn’t done. No harm no foul. Parking can be limited since Sakura is located in a plaza that consists of other small businesses, a bank and Staples. And it can also be a bit awkward getting in and out due to the set up of the parking spaces. Overall Sakura was pretty good. A small restaurant, but there are hibachi tables, a sushi bar and regular seating available. We enjoyed our meals as well. We’ll be back.

Sushi was Delicious!!! I have not always been a fan of sushi in the waterbury area, but a friend told me about this place and I very much enjoyed the meal. Sushi tasted fresh and I liked the variety rolls and special rolls they had. It was busy, but the service was great. Cant wait to go back again.

If you enjoy quality sushi and delicious drinks this is the place to go! A bit pricey but well worth it in the end, you definitely get what you pay for. This is currently my go-to sushi place when I’m in the Waterbury area :)

Best Sashimi ever! Excellent prices and nice staff. Also the most unbelievable veg. fried rice… I always go there and wouldn’t go anywhere else anymore. I have been around CT to eat Sashimi and this location has the best. You must go there for yourself.

Came back for dinner and the sushi bar was sooooo slow! 7 people in the restaurant and we waited over 20 minutes for simple small ala carte sushi. Too expensive. Slow waitstaff.

Very good Japanese steak house. A little pricey but you do get a good cooking show. Food is fresh servers are attentive. A bit loud on weekends and ambiance is lackluster.

Pros: Huge scorpion bowl, not stingy on the booze. Options for hibachi or table seating, and you could order off the hibachi menu from your table. Attentive waitstaff. Cons: We were seated by the door so it was freezing, and there were no other open tables. Décor could use some spicing up. Didn’t like that I could see stacks of cardboard beer boxes in the corner. Food: Overall pretty standard. Nothing bad but nothing out of this world. My Yaki soba was a little salty Prices: Seemed rather high. For two noodle dishes, one specialty roll and a scorpion bowl it was $ 80 including tip Overall a decent meal, but for the price I was left wanting more.

As a sushi lover, I was excited when this place opened up. But also cautious as some sushi places don’t have the freshest fish… not Sakura… the sushi is super fresh and always delicious! And the hibachi is out of this world! The prices are very reasonable for food this good… Try the Crispy Spicy Salmon roll and the hibachi salmon!

Excellent food, entertaining chefs, and Japanese-modern theme. Prices on par with a steakhouse, about $ 20+ for most menu items.
