In what I can only assume is a pathetic attempt by the Watkins Glen Chamber of Commerce to get foot traffic in and around the downtown area, this«trail» begins at Lafayette Park on N Decatur Street. Picking it up on foot there and you’re treated to miles of blank sidewalks and industrial plants. They could/should call this path Tractor Trailer, Seagull & Walmart Trail. The name change wouldn’t diminish your opinion of this trail anymore than it would already and at least it would make them honest. I’m sure by the time you reach Watkins Glen State Park the trail opens up, but that’s several miles away. My suggestion to you would be either to drive to the park or bike the whole trail(it was suggested to us to walk the trail by an information booth).
