Animal Emergency Center

I went here with my dog when she lost control of her back end. I also went here with my sisters dog that the neighbor shot. Just so you know that neighbor never even got arrested for it even though the state police were called. They are great and I’m glad to have them around.

We’ve been to central PA twice with Victor and visited the AEC as many times– he’s an accident-​prone little dog!
The folks here were very helpful and friendly. I especially appreciated their consideration to my dog’s sensitivities. For example, on the first visit he still had a cough following his previous medical/​surgical procedure so they opted to sedate him without intubation so as not to further irritate his throat. Similarly, for his eye infection they gave me alternate options to eye drops because they could see V was in too much pain to cooperate. They also let me choose between two diagnostic/​treatment options, and told me what to do until we got back to DC so I wouldn’t have to pay for yet another e-​collar. I really feel comfortable bringing V here.
The prices are, of course, better than DC area prices, though emergencies are still expensive.
I like their discharge reports and they provided helpful care over the phone. They also called a week later to check on how he is doing.
