Del Taco

I love DelTaco! This restaurant was a great place to stop by on my way back from work. I had ordered a California burrito which was delicious. Having those French fries in the burrito with the juicy chicken was a treat!
The staff was very friendly and welcoming as I’ve noticed in the past and the restaurant along with the kitchen was very clean and organized. The food was prepared as I ordered and tasted very fresh.
I also ordered a strawberry lemonade which was hand blended as I ordered it and that was great. I recommend this place if you’re expecting high quality fast food.

O hell yah Del Taco rocks! The whole menu for me is darn good. I am so glad there is one in the area and on a main strip. Came in for a quick visit yesterday with the fam and got their cheap addicting beef crunchy tacos. Y U M. Their quesadillas are really good too and the fries. Overall, DT is a winner.

My kids love coming here for the churros and the playground. BUT the playground is disgusting please Clean it and disinfect at least 1 a week every time I go it looks worse!

Food here is on par with Taco Bell, but with lower prices. There is a menu with items at a buck and under, includes decent tasting nachos, tacos and burritos. It seems that Taco Bell is forever increasing prices on their «value» menu…
My only concern about places like this is the cleansiness… Food is decent, service is fast and prices are low.

I was frustrated at first why the carnitas burrito combo did not include fries. Until I tried the burrito by itself with no fries on the side, I was skeptical. But now I understand why. The burrito was filling. It was so tasty and the mix of the carnitas and rice with sauce made my mouth water! I savored each bite and now I have to say that’s the best burrito I’ve tried on their menu!

We had a good visit today. My boyfriend tried the Cali Steak & Guac epic burrito. He says it tasted good. No surprise spicy flavor like Carl’s Jr will put on you. The manager we spoke to, who also took our order, was Rahul. He was very professional, patient and answered all our questions. That is something the manager from my previous review refused to do. I’m glad he’s not there anymore!
Rahul said the burrito wouldn’t be too spicy & he was right. He also honored the emailed coupon for a free medium drink with purchase of the burrito. The coupon stated it had to be printed but he accommodated us. That was awesome & I felt he deserved an update here on Unilocal.
As for my experience with my combo (egg & cheese combo), every cashier & supervisor has given me crap and nothing but lip about getting iced coffee with my combo. You know, the iced coffee that’s a buck on the value menu? If you get hot coffee with your combo, how much more work is it to put ice in the damn thing? It’s not much work at all. Since Rahul didn’t give me crap, that automatically earned a positive review of his customer service skills here on Unilocal.I appreciate that he listened to us and didn’t rush us. Thank You for that Rahul.
Food tasted good — place was clean, swept and not all disgusting like it is late at night. When you eat and see smashed french fries on the floor, it kinda taints your experience. This afternoon I didn’t see any smashed food.

I’m writing this as I’ve been waiting over 8 minutes for my food. as much as I love fish tacos, the customer service here is horrible!

Saltiest french fries I have ever encountered, I had to throw away! :(

But that is kindof all i can really suggest cause they have the same things as taco bell and a typical burger place

I waited awhile to write my review, figured I’d give them a couple chances.
Every time we go here, I order quesadillas. «3 PLAIN cheese quesadillas. PLAIN. With NO green sauce.» I order them a lot like that.
These quesadillas, they’re not cheap. 3 will set you back nearly 10 bucks, which is totally cool at any other del taco, cause they’re normally very very good. This Del Taco, however, cannot seem to make them the way they are requested. Every time they are slathered in green sauce, to the point of being unedible.
Now, I’ve never gone in to complain, because, well, I live about 20 minutes away, and nobody tries to eat the quesadillas until we’re home. Though, I am pretty specific in the ordering, and the receipt always shows «PLAIN — no green sauce,» so, I know there isn’t a problem in the ordering. Just in the slapping the thing together.
So, if I could give this Del Taco less than one star, I would. But I can’t. So there’s your star, Del Taco. Like you deserve it.
(also, their drive through is really, really slow.)

We’ve been here before and it was pretty good for fast food. Today was not the case though. We ordered the #12 Combo Burrito that came with fries and a drink and I got the Beefy Crunchtostada and a different combo Burrito My Tostada was cold with not much on it, both burritos were blah. Mine had some dried crusty beans in it and they didn’t have alot of flavor. They seemed short on staff and we got there right before the huge lunch rush. The best thing were the fries. Wont be back for a while.

Filthy floors, tables and bathroom. Horrible service. Food was just sitting at the front and they never called our number. I won’t be back. Nasty!

Pro’s: Cheap
Con’s: Give me indigestion, and worse, ~50% of the time…
Other Tex Mex places dont bother me, but this place dose???

We’ve given this Del Taco several chances and they’ve failed every time. One of our visits, my wife saw an employee finishing up cleaning services (with a mop and the whole bit) and try to go make food without washing his hands. She asked him politely to wash up first. Wow, what’s happening when we’re not around. Every visit has been met with poor customer service and poor attitudes. Last visit, two in our party, including myself, had stomach problems for the next 24 hours. We are done with this place.

chicken soft tacos from del taco are always great but this place barely put any special sauce… =/

My boyfriend went through the drive thru last night. It was around 11pm and it’s one of the only options open this late in the area. He ordered two combo meals and instead of fries, they gave us hash browns. Why would they give us hash browns instead of fries?! Especially at 11pm at night. I could see if it was early morning. Definitely disappointing since I was looking forward to their crinkle cut fries! Everything was alright. Same as usual. Same stomach ache inducing food.

Worst customer service ever. The food was not anything to brag about either. The girl helping me seemed aggravated and extremely rude. Save your money and eat out of vending machine cuz the food would be better.

Decent, good prices, and a nice break from the norm. Although the only thing i would love to see, is a faster wait time. Its like i go onto lunch, drive there, wait for my order, and have to eat it while im going back to work… pick up the pace, and youll get another star!

For what it is, I give it a 4 star. Typical Del Taco food, but excellent service and very quick as well. Always a smiling face at the drive thru!

Place is better than taco bell thats for sure, but doubt ill come back here at this particular spot any time soon, considering that its in Santa Cruz. I love their little carbon tacos, which is a replica of the street tacos you can get at a roach coach. I really like this place and wish they had it a lot closer to San Jose. It’s a little different compared to taco bell, plus they serve fries as well, so if you’re feeling tacoy with some fries you’ll be glad that there is a Del Taco around the corner if our from Santa Cruz.
