Just attended a service for one of Watsonville’s oldest citizens. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and behavior of these funeral directors. Unlike other providers, I didn’t see joking around or sharing you tube videos in the foyer of the church during the services. This was the conduct I observed during a service directed by the other provider for a local soprano who had passed. The other provider’s staff showed little respect for the dead, and I had to shush them twice during the service. Mehl’s crew tended all who attended with respect and dignity, and are by far the best funeral chapel in Watsonville.

There is nothing FUN about a FUNeral. .. or a cremation of a good friend. Retrieving the ashes was not pleasant, but needed to be done. Evan so graciously showed us the selection of urns, and even put the ash in the selected urn. I know that I was not speaking too clearly at the time, but Evan was so attentive to what needed to be done. I am pleased that my friend’s cremation was handled in such a dignified manner by such a traditional facility.

The ladies here at Mehl’s are awesome. The building they are in is amazing and its just a tight ship. Love it!

It’s quite Weird to talk about having a great experience with a funeral home.. .but there you go. Family owned and operated, an old Watsonville standby. The staff was caring and down-to-earth, not obsequious or overly sentimental in any way. The place itself is comfortable and fresh, not creepy or dated. Arrangements were handled professionally and quickly for a reasonable price. The only problem we had was that the date was mis-printed on the memory cards we had made for the funeral — although he lived to a ripe old age, dad was not 990 years old. They corrected it immediately, quickly and free of charge. No complaints.
