Interesting and lovely location in amongst the redwood. Loosely run so you don’t find someone easily if they do not know you are coming. Call ahead as they don’t waste money on help who stand around watching for arrivals. The woman who answers the phone I missed on our visit but she was a tremendous help talking to me about what I thought I wanted and really what rose would work the best for my locations and soil. I am very pleased and am looking for an excuse to drive back down and have an «appointed» visit so they know we will be there. The roses for sale are mostly tucked up the hill and out of site to avoid stealing I think. Funny man with vast knowledge helped us find what we wanted. We took our purchase home and they all have bloomed like troupers. The prices are really great for what you get. I have ordered from a place in Oregon that ships for free but what you get is just a stick in a pot. These folke give you a PLANT that is ready to be planted. I am going to call them again today to ask about some other Old Garden Roses. Ones that found or existed before 1867. Real collectors items and not for everyone, They also have basic new patent roses that you see in catalogues. I want to see what it up that hill next time. Who knows what else I might buy. Have a Rosie Day.

I didn’t know what to expect from this rose garden — so here’s a description for potential visitors. This is a small rose garden tucked into the hills and redwood forest, with no staff present(at least when we visited), where roses are for sale on the honor system, and you can let yourself into the gate to walk around and look at the labeled pots roses in pots for sale and planted in the ground for show. There’s parking for at least 5 cars, and I’d doubt there are many more people than that visiting at any one time. Google maps are adequate to find it. We made a special trip on a rainy October day, so we weren’t surprised that few of the roses were blooming. It could be fun on a sunny day to come stroll — and there’s also a forest reserve a mile further up the side road that would be nice to explore. We didn’t take home any roses as they were all looking a bit leggy when we were there. If I was really going to buy roses, I’d check ahead that they had what I was looking for.

Don’t do business with these people. I ordered a rose from them and it never even sent out one bud – they sent me root stock instead of a real rose plant. When I asked for a refund, they wouldn’t send me back my money. Instead they insisted on charging me $ 10 for a replacement plant!

I ordered over 20 bare root rose plants for this past Mother’s Day and now that the flowers are blooming I can’t say enough about the plants. The quality of the plants are simply astonishing. My mother neglected the plants and left the roots soaking in water(which went rancid) for over a month before I went to visit and in my horror quickly planted them. I didn’t have much hope for them but they not only survived the abuse but are now thriving! Flowers are blooming on all 20 of the plants. I plan to order another batch for Christmas. Thank you Guinevere.
