Just finished my take out roll. Pleasantly surprised and immediately had to go on Unilocal to see if anyone has realized how good it is. Had the greenfield roll– the mango inside was ripe yet not mushy. l– almost candied. The crab salad was tangy and full flavored. Tasted like it was caught today and pulled off the vine at sunset. Really impressed with the flavor. Sat outside and had a drink while waiting– waitress was great. This is my new favorite place in shopping center for take away.

Favorite sushi in Watsonville, very generous portions and the owners are great. Support local small businesses!

Husband & I have been waiting a while to give this place a try. It’s very close to our house so we’ve been chomping at the bit, but we wanted to wait for all the kinks to get worked out, and let more positive reviews roll in before we took a chance. We placed a to-go order last night so I can’t speak to the service, but can definitely rate the food. Let me just say, coming from two VERY snobby-ish sushi lovers… the food was SPECTACULAR. The rolls were not only beautiful, but had LARGE chunks of fish in each. They definitely didn’t skimp on the fresh fish, which makes their prices totally fair and completely worth it. The combination of flavors was absolutely incredible. The Geisha roll was probably my favorite! Thanks Sushi Qu! We will absolutely be back very soon :)

Hate to leave a 3 star, but the wait staff are clearly not trained and service was completely lacking and slow. The sashimi wasn’t fresh — and you could tell it had been frozen and unfrozen multiple times from the texture. I’m sure the staff is trying, but ownership needs to step up.

First time here. Place is small, some outside seating. Sushi chef was friendly, but that is where it ends. Wait staff needs a lot of help in becoming more efficient. They weren’t friendly, lacked in getting orders out in order(soup before beverage) not bring out plates for sushi and not checking on guest. We had to ask for stuff and heard other tables doing the same. It’s not a very big place so I wouldn’t expect this to be hard. One good wait staff could handle it with ease. Now, the sushi we had was good. Everything tasted fresh, generous serving and was plated nicely. Pricing was good.

I love this place. It’s very reasonably priced. The food is always good. The servings are just the right size. It’s close to my neighborhood and really cute. Never disappointed when we eat there.

My wife and I knew about this place but until today never tried it out. We’ll after today it is safe to say we will be going back. The combo dinners were awesome. Great flavor and big servings. The sushi is awesome we had the crab city and the snowball rolls. They were very big and had lot’s of flavor. This place is tucked into a little corner of older strip mall but don’t let that deter you from eating there. Place is small but I like it feels more intimate. Plus they have a few tables for outdoor seating. The staff was very nice and we’re very attentive. Prices are average for a sushi place.

I have debated writing a review on this place because I am fearful that my hidden gem will not be so hidden anymore, but I have to give credit where due. This place is awesome! Fresh fish, kind staff and wonderfully competitive prices as well as generous portions. A must go to for any Watsonville resident or visitor.

Very good sushi, and better than other places in Watsonville. Reasonably priced with great combo/bento meals and sushi combos. I have really liked everything I’ve ordered over numerous visits.

Great little spot. They handled a broken sake glass and an 18 month old like pros. Server was quick to provide coloring pad and crayons without being asked, and when our little one had enough of the place and demanded we leave they were kind enough to box up $ 60 worth of nigiri and were nothing but kind a about it. Thank you for treating us so well. If we are in the area again we would return in a heart beat!

I went here before with a friend and the rolls were quite tasty. The price is around the average for a sushi place. Today I was craving for a baked roll and called in California Gate roll. The roll was tasty but the salmon was a little under cooked and the roll was not tightly wrapped. The service was good the staff was friendly.

Food was good… the rolls were substantial and had great flavor, but we’re not wrapped tightly enough. I had the Angry Bird roll which was the spicy and delicious. Our waitress forgot one of our rolls and it took 30 min for it to finally show up when we were all done.

Great fresh sushi, generous helpings and reasonable prices. What more can you ask for? Especially in comparison to the more upscale Kauboi’s in Aptos.

I really enjoy this cozy place. It’s our go to datenight restaurant. The food is tasty, the staff is very friendly and the service is great. If you like jalepenos I recommend the«Calmate Roll», yumm! The fried sushi rolls are a bit heavy for my taste but don’t let that stop you from trying it out for yourself, it might be your favorite fried roll yet. (p.s. mixing sriracha with soy sauce is an excellent dip)

Tried this place out since it is a newer restaurant in Watsonville. Nothing exciting going on here, but wasn’t bad. We had a total of 4 rolls and a teriyaki chicken/rice bowl. It was all fresh enough and tasted ok. The place is clean and the waitress was reAlly friendly. Bottom line if Imura’s is closed then I would come here, otherwise I’d pass.

My first review of this place was a 5⁄5. The servers were nice, had edemame on the house and the meal was delicious & cheap. With such a great first experience I obviously strived to go back. But the service this time was disappointing. We didn’t get our drinks or order taken until at least 15 minutes after being seated and once my food was ordered the waiter kept missing parts of the meal. We literally had to remind him 4 times because he missed our soups, our salad, then we didn’t get utensils and at the end he forgot to bring half of my entrée. Was disappointed with the service. I felt as if the waiter was not 100% there, probably high or something. Will return because the food is still amazing and cheap but if that waiter is there I won’t step in the door. If you’re curious which waiter you should avoid, he has a bowl haircut.

I’ve been going here for months now and decided to finally put a review up on Unilocal. First of all, I believe that they have some of the best sushi, chicken katsu, tempura, and miso soup by far. I’ve tried to compare it to other places I visit from where I’m from and it still tops most of them.(The golden California is personally some of the best I’ve ever had) This place is quite small but definitely worth your money out of many places in Watsonville, especially the other sushi places.(Also it’s one of the more affordable ones compared to sushi garden nearby) If you want to try and get the best experience out of this place, try heading there when they first open because all their food just taste 10x better than it already is. The owners are very friendly and there’s this one waitress that is there most of the times I go and she has to be the nicest waitress I’ve ever met. I say give it a shot because I’m pretty sure you won’t regret it.

Went for lunch today. Right next door to Super Max, a very tiny place: 7 tables plus«bar» seating(a counter with chairs facing the window). Great, varied menu too: sushi, ramen, udon, and combo plates that are perfect for lunch. They were doing a brisk take out business while we were there. I ordered the 2 item combo plate($ 9.50): I chose the California roll and tempura. It also came with miso soup, rice, and salad. I like to try tempura once to see if it’s light(as tempura should be) or greasy(as it shouldn’t be). This was some of the best! Lacy & crispy battered veggies & shrimp, not drowning in oil. Would definitely have again. The California roll, while excellent tasting, was rolled way too large. It had to be about 2 ½ inches across and too hard to pick up with chopsticks, let alone dip in soy sauce. The miso soup was the perfect temperature and not as salty as other places I’ve had it. The salad was, well, a salad. My husband also tried the combo plate and had tempura & mackerel. For lunch, plus tip, it was under $ 25. The wait staff — just one — was very friendly but was definitely kept running the whole time. She greeted, seated, took orders, manned the phone, brought your check, and was cheerful the whole entire time. I hope they are paying her to do the job of three people. We’ll definitely be going back for more!

Sushi Qu is has the best tasting tempura, rice, miso soup, beef teriyaki and salmon teriyaki in Watsonville or Santa Cruz and Monterey county at an affordable price. As for the raw sushi and rolls fresh good quality and not smelly. I would totally recommend this place yum’o.
