Solid pizza. Staff wasn’t as nice. Made us feel like it they were doing us a service to wait on us… next time pizza to go.

Not even fair to the rest of the restaurants in a 40 mile radius! Absolutely the best artichoke dip in the history of dips!!! The pizza can be summed up in 2 words… ahhh mazing! So good. Treat yourself and everyone you know to this gem of a restaurant!

Last night was our first time there, but will definitely not be our last! Warm atmosphere, friendly staff, great wines, super fresh ingredients! We tried the lemon chicken wings, baked goat cheese, #11, and the #14 all were absolutely delicious! Our waitress suggested the Red Blend by Eruption, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I cant wait to go back and sit outside in the summer.

I’ve been here a few times and I am never disappointed. I had the plain cheese pizza and it was delightful! Tonight was half off bottles of wine so the rest of my party really enjoyed that. The table was a bit cramped for 4 people with 4 separate pizzas, but overall it was another good experience!

Friday Night Delight! Stopped in with the family on a snowy Friday night looking for a real pizza, not the doughy demonstrations so often found in Chicago. This felt like a real Napolitano cross with a New York style pizza. The ingredients were carefully chosen and our waiter was very good about making suggestions once he knew what we liked. We went for simple pizzas like tomato basil and prosciutto with arugula. The fresh tasted combined with just the right amount of wood fired grill influence made for some great pies. A bit out of the way for us but being able to book our place in line via an app made for no wait once we got there. All around a great experience! Be sure to try the artichoke dip, it is to die for…

Been here twice experience was not good. First time we were told a 30 minute wait, we managed to wait for an hour and an half with a 5 year old and a 9 year old before we gave up and left. My wife and I went back just ourselves to have the most over rated pizza ever. Your better off ordering a pizza from Nancy’s in the next town over

Pizza is good, not but great. If you do your own homemade dough and pizzas at home on a pizza stone you will think the pizza is just ok. Personally, I am not a huge fan of the«charred» pizza taste. For me, it just tastes more like burnt pizza after a few slices, but it is a unique flavor. Great service and ambiance. Will come back, but with lower expectations.

Great food, good service. It’s a bit dark and a bit loud, but not an unpleasant experience.

We were in the area with friends and decided to try this place. The meatballs were very tasty and both pizzas we got were great.

How does place exist in the burbs? It’s fantastic through and through! Excellent authentic Pizza with impossible to finish Italian Table salads. This place is always busy and for good reason. Prosciutto Pizza is our favorite… can’t go wrong. Enjoy!

Great pizza. Silly people who say it’s burnt. They tell you, or at least our server did, that it will be charred. This is coal-fired, people. We ordered three pizzas, the meat pizza, the meatball pizza and the fennel sausage pizza. All were amazing. I want to try them all! Service was excellent, both at the bar and table service. Definitely will be back to try some others. Highly recommend!

Where do I even start. You can tell the ingredients are fresh. I’ve tried several of their pizzas. from the fennel sausage caramelized onions and cream to plain cheese and sausage. Excellent every time. You must try their homemade fennel sausages on your pizza!!! They don’t have one size and if you have two very hungry people, it might be best to order two? Depending on how much you eat. I’m petite but I can finish half the pizza by myself. and that’s after I’ve had their salad. Their salads are to die for. If you love fresh vegetables with light dressing, make sure you order a salad. You won’t be disappointed!!! *salads = huge portions I’ve also tried other appetizers such as the wings, stuffed mushrooms, meatballs. all very good. Even the sandwiches are impressive. Overall, very solid restaurant. Tip** Come early, it can get crowded very quickly, especially on weekends. Also, ask your server to put your pizza in right away(if you order salad or appetizer), sometimes they’ll wait to cook your pizza until after you’ve finished your salad and you’ll end up having to wait for a while.

This place has been on my radar for quite some time. It is ranked: «One of the Top Eight Pizzas in America» and«Best Coal Oven Pizza in Chicagoland». Tonight, my wife, daughter, and I finally tried it. Overall, it is a good restaurant, but nothing can live up to that hype. My daughter said it might be the best pizza she’s ever had at a restaurant. My wife said it might be the worst pizza she’s ever had at a restaurant. The truth lies somewhere in between. We started with a couple of appetizers. I highly recommend the meatballs in red sauce. They come with delicious bread, and a huge bowl of fresh salad. Being our first time, the waiter informed us the pizzas are: «charred». We ordered three pizzas: #1(cheese), #8(no cheese), and #13(fig/prosciutto/balsamic). All were tasty; but it turns out«charred» is a hip way of saying: «burnt crust»! I don’t get it. The pizza was good, save for the burnt crust. Service is friendly and prompt. Atmosphere is loud and casual. At peak times, you can wait an hour or more for a table(believe me, I know). Download the ap: No Wait. As we were driving to the restaurant, we checked-in on No Wait. The Ap estimated a 15 minute wait,(which by-the-way is our approximate drive time). Once we got there(note: free valet parking) the hostess said we were next, we waited maybe three minutes. Gotta love it! Slyce is a friendly, loud, three-star restaurant… and that’s the way I see it.

I found this place on a whim looking at the reviews for Pizzeria DeVille in Libertyville. One of the Unilocalers suggested trying this place instead of the latter. Glad we did. The pizza here is really good. Fresh ingredients and nice chewy crust. We had the #4 and the #12. The ingredient list is long so when you look at the menu you just ask for the pizza by number. Staff was very nice and attentive. Very nice place for a date night or families. I hate to say this but now I will never try Pizzeria DeVille after eating at Slyce. Oh, I almost forgot. Artichoke dip. Just get it. You will know when you eat it that it’s the business. One of the best apps that I have ever had.

While planning our visit to the Lake County Fair, we looked for restaurants in the area for dinner. We know this area is very busy in the summer so we didn’t want to spend the evening trying to find not only a good restaurant but one that had tables available. Unilocal to the rescue! Quite a few restaurants had positive reviews for location but not so good reviews for food or service. We decided to focus on food and service and leave the views for another day. Based on Unilocal reviews, Slyce looked like a good choice. We weren’t disappointed. We neglected to make a reservation so the wait was about 1 hour at 6:00 on a Saturday. We waited at the bar which serves beer and wine. Pretty good craft beer selection. Slyce uses the No Wait app which shows you an approximation of the wait time for your table. It took maybe 45 minutes for our table to be ready. Our server was very helpful with offering suggestions and we took her advice. The women split a no tomato version(#14) which included arugula, prosciutto(more on the prosciutto in a moment), garlic, evoo(I had to look that one up), and goat cheese. It got good reviews. The guys got a tomato version(of course) that included meatball, pepperoni, sausage, and prosciutto(#5). Very tasty. I tried just a piece of the prosciutto and it was outstanding. i could make a sandwich with it. If you like thin pizza you will not be disappointed here. Just be sure to make a reservation as everyone seems to know how good the pizza is. I wish they had a full bar.

Brought my 2 young children into Slyce on a whim on Friday night, and had another awesome experience. We did not use the app to sign in before we arrived, but still only had to wait about 15 mins. The staff was great, and it was fun to see Slyce continuing to do so well. Kids loved playing with dough that our server gave them, and dad was able to enjoy a new craft IPA. We received excellent overall service, had awesome food, and left talking about our next visit. My only hope is that they expand and/or add a second location soon, so more people will enjoy this suburban gem.

Love eating local, and Slyce did not disappoint! Italian table salad and a white pizza with fennel sausage and caramelized onions = to die for. Fabulous service, too. Definitely call for reservations on the weekend!

We went there on Saturday night for dinner and had a good time, and the pizza was ‘good’ but at the price of $ 65(plus tip) for 2 pizzas, one appetizer and two beers… it had better knock my socks off, and sadly they didn’t. We ordered the #5(Meat lovers) and #15(‘White’ pizza with sausage and onions) — both were tasty and the coal-fired gave a nice char flavor, but the only crispy part of the pizza was the edges, the middle of both pizzas were flimsy and soggy and we had to fold them in half.

We had been meaning to try this place and I’m so glad we did! We split the meatballs + salad appetizer which was delicious and a good portioned size. We then split the blanco pizza that had prosciutto, arugula, garlic and olive oil. On top of that, we had two glasses of wine and our bill was under $ 50! I enjoyed the ambiance and the service was great — the manager even stopped by to see how everything went(that never happens anymore)! We will be back very soon!
