Unprofessional staff. Don’t rely on promise of scheduled class, they cancel it without notice. Once I learned they cancelled all scheduled jumba classes I sent cancellation letter and still they charged me for whole next month and wouldn’t refund charges. Very unfriendly cancellation process, even if we had to do it because of them. Tries to get as much as from leaving customers by enforcing 30 days return notice sent to only one place by mail, no fax no email accepted… But they have online registration. Where 0 rating option?

The gym serves a purpose at the price point you commit to. It is small yet has a wide enough variety of equipment to have a fulfilling workout. Morning workouts are a breeze with little traffic. Turnover of employees has been constant and contributes to some of the operational problems of this location. The biggest concern I have found is the cleanliness of the facility as a whole. The locker rooms are constantly filthy. Lockers are rarely wiped down and the showers are horrid. This location also suffers from reoccurring plumbing issues. Multiple times they have just shut down the bathrooms entirely; once for several days. In summary, it gets the job done, yet as with any budget friendly option, you risk getting what you pay for.

Been a member here for 6 months. It’s a strip mall gym, and has all of the associated pros and cons. The monthly membership is cheap but you do not get the following — towel service, just a tiny area for floor exercises and stretching, and harder to get on the most common pieces of equipment. They must’ve given a sweet deal because traffic is way up, and I can barely get on the weight machines I use. You deal, and do different exercises, is all. All in all, it’s great for a 1 hour workout, in & out, not much fuss.

For what this place is, it is definitely worth the money, especially if you took advantage of the«pay for the first year in full, get the second year FREE» deal. Crazy cheap. Their«rate guarantee» fee was an obvious ripoff, but I paid it anyways. Still a good deal. What is GOOD at Wauconda Workout Anytime: 1. Relatively new facility. 2. Very close to my job. 3. It’s open 24 hours, so I can get in a quick workout whenever it’s convenient. 4. Price. $ 15 a month can’t be beat if you took advantage of the free year. What is BAD at Wauconda Workout Anytime: 1. Staff. Over the past few months, I haven’t seen an employee talk or assist anyone besides another staff member. They are not friendly at all. When Joel was running the place, he would always greet me by name and offer to help in any way he could. Nowadays when you walk in the door, you’re lucky if they look at you at all. 2. Members. Since it opened, there has been a definite shift from normal guys and girls to body builders. Most of the serious body-builders are harmless, but some are downright obnoxious. There’s one guy who grunts loudly every time he lifts(just like«meat head» Rob Lowe in the Direct TV commercial), after which he flexes in front of the mirror, in plain view of everyone, and takes pictures of himself with his cellphone. NOONE wants to see this during their workout. NOONE. 3. Size. Wauconda Workout Anytime is SMALL. During busier times, everyone is on top of each other — if you don’t like people right in your face, this might not be the place for you. 4. Extras. There are no classes, only expensive sessions with a personal trainer. They do have two skin cancer beds, a few TVs on the wall and super small locker rooms with showers, but not much else. I never understood the«Judgement Free» commercials by Planet Fitness until I joined Workout Anytime. People want a pleasant and comfortable workout experience for their money, not having to listen to grunting morons while they’re trying to fit a workout into their busy schedules. They also want classes, as well as a helpful and friendly staff to assist them when needed. Unfortunately, you won’t find any of that here.

This gym is new to the area. They have all new equipment from free weights to cardio equipment. They also have a hydromassage and a tanning bed. The staff is very friendly and professional. You can’t beat the monthly rate for what you get.
